JSAUX's new Xbox Ally carry cases are now available, they're on sale with an introductory price for Black Friday — and far better than ASUS' official case

The Xbox Ally is here, and it's pretty great.

The Xbox Ally is a gaming handheld range from ASUS and Microsoft, combining the best of Xbox and Windows PC gaming into a device you can take with you. The more expensive Xbox Ally X can run even modern AAA games decently well, while the more affordable Xbox Ally base model is a powerhouse for indies and less demanding games.

The Xbox Ally "Slim" Carrying Case from JSAUX is designed primarily to house your Xbox Ally console only. There's a flap for covering and protecting the screen, which also includes storage for SD cards and the like on top. While there's no included shoulder strap, you can attach one to the handle. The hardshell is also a good shout for protection, with raised inlets for the joysticks.

For only a couple of bucks more, you can buy the JSAUX Max Xbox Ally carrying case. This one has all the features of the slim version, although it's a lot bulkier to accommodate a second layer for storing chargers, cables, and even small foldable keyboards. It comes with a shoulder strap too, although you may want to buy a more comfortable after-market one if you plan to use it that way.

I had to list this one too, despite not being one of the new JSAUX case. This is a bit pricier, but it is what I consider to be the "best" option for Xbox Ally (or indeed, any PC gaming handheld) owner. It's not a hard shell case, however, but it does offer good interior protection and a ton of storage space for additional accessories. Do consider this as well if you want something with even more storage, and something that you can sling over your shoulder for travel use.

JSAUX makes great stuff for your Xbox Ally

Both the Slim and Max carrying cases are impressively made, with high-quality materials, a ton of padding, and robust zippers.

The Max is arguably the headline act here, although it is bulkier. All that bulk is designed to accommodate its double-decker storage configuration, with space for chargers, cables, and other accessories underneath the compartment for the Xbox Ally itself.

The Slim case does away with the double decker configuration and is designed to house the Xbox Ally itself only, although there is a screen protecting cover included with storage for SD cards if you carry a lot of those with you.

The Max case does include a shoulder strap, but it's very thin and probably going to cut into your shoulder if you're carrying the case a lot. You may want to purchase a separate shoulder strap with a shoulder pad if you plan to use it that way, although the one included will still do the job.

Both cases have microfiber materials on the interior which helps keep your devices protected, with a hard-shell exterior which should help them survive in the cargo hold of a plane or in a rucksack. They are much cheaper than the official cases from ASUS, so definitely consider these instead if you want something with a hard, protective shell.
