Battlefield wouldn't be Battlefield without vehicles, and in Battlefield 2042, vehicles are one of the most valuable assets you can use in combat. In previous Battlefield games, vehicles were only available from spawn points on the map. However, in Battlefield 2042, players can also have everything from scout vehicles to main battle tanks dropped off thanks to the new vehicle call-in system.

Now that the Battlefield 2042 beta is here, we've been able to try out the vehicle call-in system firsthand. Here's a quick guide on how you can use the vehicle call-in system to air drop vehicles to your location.

Using the vehicle call-in system is easy and intuitive. Here's how to do it on each platform Battlefield 2042 is available on:

  • PC: Press the B key to activate the call-in tablet, then choose your vehicle with your mouse and left mouse button. Select where you'd like to have the vehicle delivered with your mouse, then click again with the left mouse button to begin the call-in.
  • Xbox: Press and hold RB to activate the call-in tablet, then choose your vehicle with your left thumbstick and the A button. Select where you'd like to have the vehicle delivered with your left thumbstick, then click again with the A button to begin the call-in.
  • PlayStation: Press and hold R1 to activate the call-in tablet, then choose your vehicle with your left thumbstick and the X button. Select where you'd like to have the vehicle delivered with your left thumbstick, then click again with the X button to begin the call-in.

Note that it probably won't be a good idea to call down a vehicle in the middle of a firefight, as you'll be exposed to enemy fire immediately. Therefore, you should call your vehicles in just behind the front line so that you can enter the vehicle safely while still being close to the action. Note that you might also be unable to deploy the vehicle you want if your team already has several of them on the field.

Battlefield 2042 preorders are available now, and getting your copy of the game early will give you two days of early access (Oct. 6-7) to the beta. Notably, the Battlefield 2042 beta download has gone live and the beta is playable now.
