Lenovo unveils three new IdeaPad Flex Windows PCs at MWC 2022

  • Lenovo announced upgrades to the IdeaPad Flex 5i and IdeaPad Flex 5 at Mobile World Congress.

Lenovo announced a range of versatile devices at Mobile World Congress today. Updated versions of the IdeaPad Flex 5 and IdeaPad Flex 5i feature improved ergonomics and the latest processors from Intel and AMD. Lenovo also announced the IdeaPad Duet 5i, a detachable convertible.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i and Flex 5 are both available in either 14-inch or 16-inch models. They each support an optional Lenovo E-color pen and can flip around into a variety of modes. The laptops have a 360-hinge that lets them convert to tent mode, stand mode, tablet mode, or rest as a traditional clamshell laptop.

The IdeaPad Flex 5i runs on up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 U series processor with Intel Iris Xe MAX graphics. The IdeaPad Flex 5 features up to an AMD Ryzen 7 processor with built-in Radeon graphics.

The new IdeaPad convertible laptops have 16:10 OLED displays with up to 2.8K resolution. The displays have wide viewing angles, up to 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and reach up to 400 nits of brightness. They're also TÜV-certified for low blue light to reduce eye strain.

The IdeaPad Duet 5i has some similar design elements to Microsoft's Surface Pro 8. Lenovo's new convertible features a 12-inch display and supports a stylus. Its detachable keyboard can also connect through Bluetooth, which allows for a wider variety of desk setups than requiring a physical connection. You can prop of the IdeaPad Duet 5i with its included folio kickstand.

Lenovo highlights the thinness of its new tablet. The device is just 9.45 mm thick, which is almost the exact same as the Surface Pro 8. Inside, the IdeaPad Duet 5i runs on up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU.
