Every adventurer needs a place to lay their head and rest at night, and Minecraft Dungeons provides to players with a camp. At your camp, you can sort through all of your gear and even practice on some dummies, as well as salvage old equipment in exchange for some emeralds. Here's everything you need to know about upgrading your camp and making it the best place it can be.
How can I upgrade my camp in Minecraft Dungeons?
While you can't customize or build up your camp to an insane degree, you can slowly improve it over time by simply playing the game. It's not much of a secret as to how, either: one of your main objectives in Minecraft Dungeons is to protect all the villagers in the land from the wrath of the Arch-Illager, and this means during your travels you'll come across villagers that have either been captured or are in immediate danger.
It's your job to rescue as many of these villagers as you can, and in exchange some of these villagers may come to your camp and offer their services. A blacksmith, for example, can take up shop and sell you new gear, while wandering traders can also join from time to time. You can't control exactly when this happens, but as long as you stoop to help any villagers in need along the way, it's bound to happen.
To make sure you don't miss any villagers, do the following:
- Constantly scan your surroundings. It's possible villagers may not be smack in the middle of the screen for all to see. They may be off to the side, hidden by the landscape, or down side paths.
- Get to villagers as quickly as possible. If you notice villagers, don't hesitate to rush over and help them out. Using artifacts is a great way to clear a path through enemies.
- Take a moment between levels to check your camp. It's understandable to want to rush off to the next level and continue the game, but it's worth taking a second to check out your camp and see if anyone new has joined.
A bustling camp
Everyone needs help every now and then, and you're no different in Minecraft Dungeons. NPC's like the blacksmith can help out a ton by upgrading your gear and giving you more power to face the Arch-Illager, and give you an excuse to spend all those emeralds you've been hoarding. Making your camp feel more alive is just a plus to the whole thing.
