Samsung's 1TB 860 QVO solid state drive on sale for $98 can speed up your system
New and so improved.

The Samsung 860 QVO 1TB internal solid state drive (opens in new tab) is down to $97.99 on Amazon thanks to a price match of the same deal at B&H (opens in new tab). This SSD was selling for around $130 in early February and for around $110 since it dropped in price in March. Today's drop is the lowest we have ever seen.

This drive was just introduced last year and is already seeing lower prices than the competition.
The 860 QVO is different than Samsung's other SSDs like the 860 EVO (opens in new tab). It uses a QLC NAND controller, which is one of the newest technologies in the SSD world. In fact, we've only ever talked about one other QLC drive on Thrifter before, Intel's 660p NVMe M.2 SSD (opens in new tab), and NVMe M.2 SSDs are an entirely different beast than SATA SSDs like the 860 QVO. Samsung's drive is really the only consumer-level QVO SATA SSD worth talking about. The biggest improvement of the QVO over previous generations is in the cost, which is why the 1TB version of this drive is much less expensive than comparable drives.
The 860 QVO has read/write speeds of 550 and 520 MB/s respectively. It also comes with a three-year warranty. Users give it 4.7 stars based on 232 reviews (opens in new tab).
