Microsoft-owned Mojang has confirmed that over 100 million copies of its sandbox game Minecraft have sold since it launched, across of its platforms (PC/Java, consoles and Pocket/Windows 10 editions).

As reported by CNET, the new milestone means that Minecraft is just the second video game ever to surpass 100 million copies sold, and is now the second biggest selling single game of all time.

Mojang sent out an infographic to commemorate the occasion, noting that Minecraft has now sold (so far) 106,859,714 copies and that since the beginning of 2016 it has sold 53,000 copies a day. Mojang added:

We'd like to offer our heartfelt thanks to every one of you who's bought Minecraft over the past few years, no matter which platform you play on. We're constantly in awe of our community and the amazing things you achieve together. You really are the best. <3
