Acer's refreshed Predator 15 and 17 gaming notebooks have NVIDIA's latest GTX 10 GPUs

Acer announced plans to refresh its Predator 15 and 17 gaming notebooks with NVIDIA's latest graphics cards. They will launch in the U.S. and Europe this fall.

In a blog post, Microsoft stated:

Acer's Predator 15 and 17 gaming notebooks with Windows 10 now also feature GPUs with the all-new NVIDIA Pascal architecture, with up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics. This brings the notebooks in line with Acer's push to have the Predator series ready to power the latest VR devices.

The Predator 15 will go on sale in North America in September with prices starting at $1,699; and in Europe in October with prices starting at €1,799. The new Predator 17 will launch in North America in September with prices starting at $1,699, and in Europe in October with prices starting at €1,799.

  • At this price, (and size) i'd want and expect mechanical cherry red mx keys, a trackball (yes, laptops used to have trackballs) and a physical volume wheel... But otherwise, this thing looks like it could be good... Does it have 4k? Toes it offer touch screen? Does it offer matte screen? It doesn't appear to have a flip-back hinge, but its worth asking: Does it have one? Can it be powered by USB C (USB-PD)?  
  • I like the chassis of the Predator series but I prefer a touchscreen.
  • Until I see IPS panel AND G-sync then just no at these prices. If Asus can do G-sync so can Acer. Not enough info on specs.
