Last month AdDuplex launched a new promotional campaign, the HERO Apps program, for Windows Phone and Windows developers. The program partners AdDuplex with myAppFree, AppDeals, PluralSight and Windows Central to deliver a host of benefits to the top apps and games each month on the AdDuplex Network.
Our role in promoting the HERO Apps is to showcase these top HERO Apps throughout the month. The first HERO App we will spotlight is Mirror Cam from DasDonkey Studios.
Mirror Cam is a unique Windows Phone camera app that uses mirror images of your subject to create some rather unique photos. You can use vertical, horizontal or a combination of both reflections to frame up your photo.
Mirror Cam may not be an everyday photography app but if you are in the mood for a different perspective with your photos, it is worth a try.
Key features of Mirror Cam include:
- Apply Vertical or Horizontal Mirroring or combine both effects
- Apply editing filters to your images
- Final images can be saved to your Pictures Hub
- Mirror blending can be applied to existing images on your Windows Phone
The design layout for Mirror Cam centers around the viewfinder. Controls to implement the vertical and horizontal mirroring are positioned along the left side of the viewfinder with your shutter button and flash controls on the right side. Along the top of the viewfinder you will find control buttons to:
- Remove Ads ($1.29)
- Access the app's settings (Help screen, developer credits, report bugs)
- Aspect Ratio selection (4:3 or 16:9)
- Camera selection (front or rear)
- Option to open existing images to apply the mirror effects to
The mirror effect will shift as you move your camera around, blending each perspective of your subject. When you get things lined up to your liking, tap the shutter button (on-screen or physical button) to capture things. You will then be sent to an editing screen where you can save your image, apply one of nine effects filters or blend a second image with the one you just captured.
Images are saved at a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at 96dpi. With a little patience and imagination, Mirror Cam can produce some rather interesting photos. Mirror Cam is an ad-supported Windows Phone app with the option to remove the ads (and extend the filter selection to an additional 16 filters) for $1.29.
