Does the LG gram 17 have cellular LTE support?
Why is LTE important?
In this day and age, many people are constantly on the move. When you're out and about, Wi-Fi sources are rare, which means that your ability to stay on the internet is rare — unless. of course, you have a device that can connect to a cellular internet network. Nearly all smartphones and most tablets have cellular connectivity, but recently, hybrid devices and even laptops have joined in on the fun, too.
Cellular internet is extremely useful since you won't need a Wi-Fi connection to stay connected, and LTE is the fastest type of connectivity, making it a highly sought after feature. If you have a device that has LTE, you can rest easy knowing you'll be able to enjoy speedy internet anywhere at any time.
Is the LG gram 17 still worth getting?
Despite the lack of LTE connectivity, the LG gram 17 is nevertheless a fantastic laptop you should consider. Despite its large screen, it's astonishingly light at just 2.95 lbs (1.34 kg) which makes it incredibly easy to carry around, and thankfully, you don't lose out on durability. The LG gram 17 passed military MIL-STD-810G testing with no issues, so you don't need to worry about it breaking easily on you. Additionally, it also packs an Intel Core i7-8565U processor and 16GB of RAM, as well as a massive 10 to 12 hours of battery life, so it's perfect for getting work done. Lastly, the 17-inch display is gorgeous and crisp, making all visual media viewed on the LG gram 17 look amazing.
Overall, as long as LTE connectivity isn't a massive deal-breaker for you, you'll love the LG gram 17, especially if you need a powerful laptop on the go.
LG gram 17
Excellence all around
Despite lacking LTE support, the LG gram 17 is still a superb laptop that balances weight, power, and durability amazingly.
Alternatives to the LG gram 17
If you want a device with LTE support, than you'll need to look for something other than the LG gram 17. Thankfully, there are excellent alternative options available: the HP Spectre Folio 13t and the Surface Go LTE. The former is a great laptop that performs comparably to the LG gram 17, while the latter is a more affordable and smaller hybrid device that's great if you're on a budget or prefer things on the compact side.
If none of these options appeal to you, there are still plenty of others that you can check out in our roundup.
HP Spectre Folio 13t
Premium look
While it has lower specs than the LG gram 17, the HP Spectre 13t is by no means a weak system, and it comes with both LTE connectivity and a snazzy leather aesthetic.
Outfitted with leather and featuring LTE connectivity, the HP Spectre 13t is a solid, stylish alternative option to the LG gram 17. It has less hardware power, but it's still quite capable of handling most work tasks, making it a good choice overall.
Surface Go LTE
LTE-asy on the budget
The Surface Go LTE lacks the power of the other devices in this article, but it makes up for it by being ridiculously affordable. It's also quite small, making it perfect for people who are constantly on the move.
If you like the idea of an LTE device that's on the smaller side, or you don't want to fork over $1,000 for one of the above laptops, then the Surface Go LTE is a fantastic choice. It's light, compact, and incredibly affordable. In addition to that, it's also entirely capable of serving well as a laptop/tablet hybrid. While it lacks the raw power of the other choices on this list, it's not a weak device.
