What you need to know

- The developer recently teased a new open-world game.
- The title will be revealed at Gamescom 2019.
- You can purchase Xbox Game Pass on Amazon (opens in new tab).
A few days ago, Rockfish Games announced that it was working on an open-world space shooter. You may remember the team from the excellent Everspace. Luckily, the studio will reveal the title at Gamescom 2019, but that hasn't stopped it from releasing a few teasers about the project.
On the Everspace website, the follow excerpt was posted a few days ago.
The rumors are true: We have been working on a new space game for quite some time... Even though many fans liked our innovative concept of combining fast-paced space combat with rogue-like elements and exciting storytelling set in a colorful science fiction world, many space game enthusiasts are longing for an open-world space shooter with classic role-playing elements in the iconic vibrant audiovisual style and the intense action gameplay of Everspace. Well, we got good news: You will be able to explore a vivid open world featuring persistent progression in our new space game. There will be lots of exciting things to discover; from wacky aliens over mysterious space anomalies to a wide variety of enemies who will stand in your way in the everlasting quest for better loot; our new game will get down to business right away, and space will look even prettier than ever.
The description seems promising and hopefully, the team will deliver just like it did with Everspace. You can check out a few of the screenshots the developer posted from the upcoming game below. It looks a lot like Everspace, but it appears to feature more human-like spacecrafts and structures. One image appears to show a satellite.

I had a hard time getting into Everspace but absolutely enjoyed the game play and the visuals. Pretty excited for this new project!
-
Same here... Took me quite a few times of playing it before I really got into it. Almost finished the main game now with just over 100 runs and I'm really enjoying it.
-
Couldnt play Everspace. Too hard. Dont really relish the "die hundred times to enjoy". Played dozens of space combat/sims - just didnt like the concept of "Dark Souls in Space". Rebel Galaxy/Outlaw is far more enjoyable

Try easy mode... After 50 attempts it was too easy. 😜
