Gameloft releases games hub on Windows Phone with new titles

Gameloft, the popular games developer with numerous titles under its belt, has released a new app for Windows Phone. Game Hub enables consumers to quickly access top games, as well as check out what's available on the Windows Phone Store. Think of it as the hub to all your favorite Gameloft titles. We're seeing an early version, but there's potential to offer some real value to consumers.

As the name of the app suggests, the Game Hub aims to be the portal for all Gameloft titles. As well as providing a list of Gameloft games to choose from (and providing a Store link to access even more), the developer has included five new mini-games for consumers to enjoy for free. These include:

  • Danger Dash
  • Green Farm 3
  • Littleest Pet Shop
  • Real Football 2014
  • Wonder Zoo

It's worth noting that these titles are not available on the Windows Phone Store and are to be accessed from within the app. It's an interesting switch from releasing games strictly on the Microsoft app store, but this hub does open up new possibilities to help consumers discover other games under the developer's belt.

We're also aware that the Game Hub comes pre-loaded on the Lumia 630.

  • Smart Ubisoft...uhhh..No....Gameloft. @WPCentral where is the full review of Lumia 630. Not hearing anything and people are noticing secrets coming with it.
  • ?
  • I don't understand, how Ubisoft is concerned with all this ?
  • Ubisoft...gameloft....kinda confused me...lol
  • Right...
  • Are you high bro?
  • Gameloft is a subsidy of ubisoft
  • Ubisoft owns Gameloft.
  • Everyone calm down and no one gets hurt.
  • Java games?
  • Sound
  • Good choice of words. could have been gameloft game hub but now people could better be tricked into installing that
  • Nice way to release games in the hub and bypass the store checks
  • Bugs opening "Danger Dash" :(
  • Are those free games any good ??
  • Yes, brings back the good old days with Nokia s40s and 60s.
  • I agree.
  • They suck
  • ^^^
Agreed. The free games are just awful. That's why they are free.
  • Cool, while some people dislike Gameloft for the copycat tendencies, at least they support WP with almost 100% parity compared to iOS/Android, I wish Square Enix, Capcom, EA, or any of the independent developers like Vlambeer supported WP with equal fervor.

  • Your comment i quite rare i must say, so how's the samsung doing hardware/spec-wise?
  • Really good actually. I bought the phone one year ago, and it hasn't got any slower at all. Now with 8., I'm really happy that I finally can store apps on the SD-card, something that have extended the lifetime for the phone.
  • Gamelot and Disney. Two supporting WP greatly among big studios. Atleat EA should be like this as we miss real racing 3,nfs mw,plants vs zombies 2 etc.. Maybe they require time as EA makes games Xbox enabled whereas Gamelot got tired of long waiting time for Xbox and dropped it and released games on par with ios and Android.
  • yeah those are some amazing gaming comps!
  • I think it's a brilliant idea and I think they should keep updating it with more and more of these old Java games,I love these games :D
  • Danger dash could have been seperate game.

  • Not available in Canada
  • I wonder when they will re-release The Amazing Spiderman 2 for WP 8.1 since it was removed due to compatibility issues with Windows Phone 8.1. One would think that Gameloft would test their games with 8.1 during development.....
  • One would think a game should still work even with a operation system update. or do you need new update moving from xp - vista - 7 - 8 - 8.1 .. i didnt
  • Software should always be tested to be compatibile with the latest versions of an OS. This happens with other developers on other OSes as well. Even big name iOS games have updates  and change logs that say "Enabled/Better compatibility with iOS 7" or Android games that have compatibility updates for Kit Kat. What is surprising is that "Spiderman 2" barely worked at all on WP 8.1 to point that it had to be pulled is puzzling. Gameloft should have had access to the Windows Phone 8.1 SD for a while now and releasing the game with critical compatibility bugs that prevented the game from launching is shocking. It is almost as if Gameloft didn't test the game with the Developer Preview. Maybe the Developer Preview that we have is missing key bits of OS code that are preventing the game from running and maybe it runs just fine on whatever version of Windows Phone 8.1 that Gameloft has access to. Does anyone have a Lumia 630 that comes with WP 8.1 to test the game? Either way, I bought the game to support Gameloft as they do support Windows Phone when other developers do not. I hope they get everything sorted out so I can play TAS2 on my 1020 or a newer device. It comes down to being either an issue with the Dev Preview  or the game. I bought TAS2 for my iPhone 5s and it is a great game with excellent graphics, sound and gameplay. Running it on my 1020 really shows how outdated the Galaxy S3 era chipset really is. I hope Gameloft optimizes the game better for newer chipsets as the 1520 has enough GPU power to run the game with the same graphical fidelity as the iPhone 5s. I haven't bought the game for my Nexus 5 though. Tempting as the 5 inch 1080p screen and Snapdragon 800 combo is what I wish ATT (I NEED a 1020 successor with atleast those specs) had for Windows Phone but I would rather support Windows Phone than Android. I only bought it for iOS to have the best version. Ok....I'm rambling now. Long story short...one way of the other, TAS2 needs a compatibility update for WP 8.1.
  • Not impressed, I'm still waiting for them to support the games they already have on our OS.
Most of them have gone shit on 8.1
  • That has nothing to do with Gameloft and more so with firmware not being update. Rayman is shit on 8.1
  • Even if so they are still lazy with their implementation of Moga support across devices for instance The Moga Pro is supported in Asphalt 7 on my Lumia 920 but the controller option is completely absent when played on my Lumia 1520, the 1520 which is the preferred gaming device in the Lumia line up.
How could you miss something like that?
Both MC4 & NOVA3 have 0 Moga pro support another slap in the face of WP users as all these games have perfect Moga support on the android platform I know, I've owned and played them all on it.
Not to mention their utter lack of mentioning that its even possible to utilize your Moga on any of their game in our market, its just like they can care less about us and that really sucks.
I've spend a lot of money on Gameloft game and expect to get the same experience here as I did on the ladder if I'm expected to pay the same for it.
PS: These issues were experienced PRE 8.1
  • So Microsoft removes games from the games hub, which was a really daft move, and now Gameloft releases its own hub. What's wrong with Microsoft? Why don't they realise that people like hubs- people hub, games hub, music+video hub....
  • Have to say this is true for me!
  • What's its use ...Is gameloft running windows phone..seems like....
  • Why gameloft doesn't optimized games for 512 ram. It would be so great, no problem for paying.
  • I think gameloft is 100% committed to 512 Mb devices. There are lots of game
  • Because they don't want to recode their games from scratch, all they do is porting it, its fast, easy, but memory consuming.
  • Microsoft should buy Gameloft.
I'm just going to say it before anyone else does.
  • And I hope they do buy gameloft
  • Do u know what's next..gameloft releasing cortana 2.....
  • real football not working on 1520
  • 44MB! Nope!
  • Had to read the title three times to confirm...
  • Finally... Danger dash was announced last year in October event and after 7 months we get it that too in a new package called games hub.
  • One thing I notice. Real football is demo but I can buy it via mobile career. Fantastic option. Thanks gameloft.
  • Gameloft are amazing showing real support for us in the windows phone community. Well done guys and thank you
  • No Xbox, no download even if free.... #SaveXboxWP
  • I'll support that attitude!
  • it's a shame that people deny good game just becaus it does not have those achievements :|  i can never understand  .  gameplay makes a game worth download not the achievements
  • Just a short version: Xbox for WP is the key to a whole lot more market share. This is not about good gameplay or anything and not about achievements.
Brand recognition, cross platform games (Sonic 4 ep.2 anyone?), universal payment, having a dedicated platform for all games. I could go on, next time!
  • To a whole lot more market share, not Xbox but cross platform compatibility is the key. To be able to play with friends who are on android and ios. This can not be achieved with XBL as those other platforms don't have the service.
This can be done by the developers, creating an independent third party social hub for their games. But np, keep going with this (imo ridiculous) "no xbox no download even when free" attitude, it's your choice... Maybe you will achieve something with it some day... Maybe not.
  • Oh god not you too. While I miss Xbox, not downloading/buying non-xbox games will only kill the platform. Bunch of idiots.
  • Read my comment right above you man and please mind the language and be good.
  • He's right though...
  • Thanks for the credits, Rich. :)
  • Never forget what Gameloft did to Asphalt 5/7.
Most shameful move ever, so awful. Everybody please keep that in mind!
No Xbox, of course I will be sure to avoid all their upcoming free to pay games.
  • I can't believe its not butt hurt.
  • I'll go get you the baby bottle. Milk is nice and warm.
  • Very disrespectful, I don't know why you do that, please keep it serious.
Spam to insult me is uncalled for.
  • So, basically like Steam if Steam only contained Valve games? Sounds a bit rubbish. I'll wait for Valve to get Steam out for WP instead, thanks. I'm not installing a separate 'hub' for each and every games publisher, that would be mental.
  • I don't know where to start..
  • Insta headache....
  • no xbox .......still play :D    because it a game ffs . you play a game no matter what
  • only 2 games work, 1 freezes after each game. Love the Farm game. But It's amazing how many games makes it into the store that just don't work.
  • So if i install the game from the hub and uninstall it, will i still keep it free
  • I hate the idea of having to install one app to get another one. Just put them in the store already.
  • Seems faster.
  • Gameloft, they suck at making games available to everyone
  • Fifa 14 for lumia 720 pleasssseeee
  • This a possible way to eventually have full moga controller support?
  • It starts downloading again
  • Still waiting for an updates for order and chaos so it works properly on the 1520.
  • cant find it on my store?? i am using lumia 520

  • Any one here know how to remove preinstalled games from games hub???
