Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary launch on PC

What you need to know

  • 343 Industries has officially launched both Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary on PC as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC).
  • All content aside from Halo 2: Anniversary's Forge is included in the launch.
  • The two games come together in one purchase, and it costs $10 to get them.
  • You can also get access to all of the MCC, including Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary, by subscribing to Xbox Game Pass for PC.
  • Fixes to known bugs and issues are coming soon.

Halo developer 343 Industries has officially launched both Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary on PC through Halo: The Master Chief Collection. All of the content in both games, inclduing Campaign, Multiplayer, Custom Games, Theater, and armor customization options are included, with the sole exception being Halo 2: Anniversary's Forge mode which 343 states isn't ready to be released yet.

Both games come together in one package. You can opt to buy it standalone for $10 if you don't want the other games in the MCC, or you can get access to all games part of the MCC, both released and unreleased, by paying for the full collection that costs $40. In addition, you can get access to all of the MCC by being an Xbox Game Pass for PC subscriber. The other games coming to the collection in the future include Halo 3: ODST, Halo 3, and Halo 4. Aside from Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary, both Halo: Reach and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary are available to play now.

Both the standalone games and the full MCC are available through both Steam and the Windows 10 Store. In addition, the full MCC with all of the games on it are available to play right now on Xbox One.
