What makes the Dell 14 Plus laptop so special?

The Dell 14 Plus is a no-nonsense, diligent AI laptop that forgoes frivolous gimmicks like RGB lighting to be built with advanced technology for the sole purpose of getting work done.

It features a slim, minimalist design and a lightweight of 1.52kg to make it easy to store and carry, and it's got a large battery of 7 to 22 hours, depending on how much work you put it through before needing to recharge.

Its performance when typing and running multiple apps like internet browsers, Microsoft Office, and email is consistently smooth and solid, thanks to its Intel/AMD processors.

On top of that, it's been future-proofed for all AI and Windows 11 updates as the Dell 14 Plus is built with Copilot+ certification, thanks to a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of up to 48 TOPS (trillions of operations per second), depending on the processor you purchase the laptop with.

There are new niggling issues that hold this device back from being one of the best AI laptops of all time.

According to my colleague, Zachary Boddy's review of the Dell 14 Plus, it has a lackluster IPS LCD screen (with 60Hz refresh rates and 1200p resolution), which has distracting backlight bleed, low brightness, average color contrast, and washed-out, inaccurate colors.

It also has hollow-sounding speakers, a design that may be too safe for users wanting an extravagant-looking laptop, and it has no Human Presence Detection (HPD) feature to give it extra security.

If you can put aside those negatives, the Dell 14 Plus is a great purchase for casual or workplace PC users wanting to get their work done on the go.

The Dell 14 Plus (with an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V, 40 TOPS NPU, 8 cores, up to 4.5Ghz) is available for purchase at a 50% discount for $499.99 at Dell for Black Friday.

Keep a sharp eye out this weekend, as we'll be rounding up the best Black Friday deals for PCs, laptops, Xbox accessories, and other enticing electronics.
