If you happen to be a fan of the dark ash silver version of the 13-inch HP Spectre x360, but don't care to move up to 4K, it's now available with a FHD display option. Previously, it wasn't clear if the darker finish would be available in the FHD configuration, but HP's online store (opens in new tab) now lists it as an available configuration for only $10 more than the natural silver variant.

In some more potential good news, HP is also now selling the Spectre x360 13 with a bundled active pen. That option previously appeared in early February, but was only initially available at Best Buy for a select few models. We should note that this model is slightly different from the one we reviewed in 2016, as that version didn't have a pen-compatible display.

Other than the additional color option and pen support, the Spectre x360 13 packs the same configuration options as before. In any case, if you're intrigued, you can check out the new options and configure your own Spectre x360 to your heart's content at HP now.

  • How about QHD support?
  • The best keeps getting better!
  • I have searched the internet for the last week and cannot find one review or comparison of the battery life in the 1080p version vs the 4k. I really want to know how badly that 4k screen is going to hurt the battery life, cause if it is more than a couple hours that makes my decision for me. If anyone has the 4k version or has seen a breakdown/comparison of the UHD and FHD variants, i would really appreciate it.
  • You should expect to have 2-3 hours of battery life shaved between the two. Just a hunch though
  • Cool so we may see this in the UK by about august?? HP UK store is still full of last generation..
  • Does it usually take that long to get to the European market?
  • Nice, looks similar to HP elite x3 lap dock
  • It appears so. The 4k Ash Silver i7-7500 version has just gone on sale here. HP's own store is full of last generation and it makes no distinction between those and the refreshed items apart from the updated professor spec and Windows hello etc. If you weren't aware of the refreshed spec you would just buy the last generation
