6tag

6tag, which is arguably the more-real Instagram client for Windows Phones versus the official one, just picked up a nice little update today. Instead of the usual bug fixes though, this one delivers some new features to help tweak the user-experience even more, bringing some unique capabilities to your Windows Phone.

Version 3.4 of 6tag is now live in the Store and two of the new features are location-based, letting users gain more control over their postings. Let's take a look at the changelog.

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen updates for 6tag (Instagram client) and 6sec (Vine client) from developer Rudy Huyn. Today, we’re getting updates for both, including a 2.0 release for 6sec.

6tag has received CloudSix integration, which is Huyn’s other pet project. CloudSix offers an unparalleled experience for cloud hosting companies on Windows Phone, including Dropbox (Huyn mentioned that he plans to expand CloudSix coverage to OneDrive, Mega, Google Drive and more in the future). Today’s update includes that along with support for “phablets under Windows Phone 8.1”.

We like official apps and all, but sometimes the efforts from developers with their third-party apps are incredible. For example, Instagram client 6tag has been getting updates and updates that make it better than the official apps on major platforms like Android and iOS. 6tag has things like multiple account support, regrams, and much more. The latest version, v3.2, adds a new feature that makes it even cooler – "like or not".

It seems like it was just yesterday that 6tag, the popular Instagram client for Windows Phone 8, had yet another update from developer Rudy Huyn. Indeed, it was yesterday that version 3.0.2.0 landed. Huyn whimsically promised on Christmas Eve that it was the last update for this week. Luckily for you, he couldn’t keep his word.

In an odd coincidence, soon after we posted a review of the app InstaVideo Downloader, Huyn saw a challenge before him and he feverishly began working on his own solution to allow users to save Instagram videos. Yes, evidently there are some videos that you folks come across that you want to save for later, and instead of having a separate app, you can now do it all in 6tag. Let’s get the details.

Another week, another 6tag update for Instagram lovers. Scratch that, as this is the third update to the app in just four days. Not too shabby.

Likewise, Disney’s Wreck it Ralph gets an update as well, but unfortunately, it’s bad news for Lumia 520 owners and others with 512 MB devices. And finally, the long-awaited Pouch update rolls on out for Pocket users.

It's all here in this morning's app update roundup. Read on for the details.

It may be Christmas Eve, but many of us are still hard at work. Case in point, Rudy Huyn, who is tirelessly perfecting his 6snap (Snapchat) and 6tag (Instagram) clients for Windows Phone 8.

Tonight, both apps have received updates, though it’s 6snap that gets the lead here due to its two-point-oh new designation. That can only mean some serious new features. Let’s take a look.

While the Windows Phone Store now includes an official Instagram app, we still have some very respectable third party offerings.  One of which is Rudy Huyn’s 6tag.

6tag received a minor update that takes the app to version 2.2.1.  There’s not a change log listed in the Windows Phone Store but, according to Rudy’s tweet, the update adds a hack to prevent your password from resetting while you are traveling.  We will guess there are a few minor bug fixes thrown in for good measure too.

The popular app 6tag has received yet another update this week, this time adding a few new features to unofficial Instagram client.

It was back in September when developer Rudy Huyn released version 1.4 with the new Modern theme. That theme eventually got an all-black color layout to join the white and mixed selections. Now, version 2.1 finally brings those color choices to ‘Polaroid’, giving fans of the original UI design new color choices.
