This discounted MyQ hub allows you to control your garage door opener from your phone

One thing you may not have thought to make smarter is something you likely use on a daily basis: your garage door. That's right, wouldn't it be nice to be able to control it from your phone, or be able to see at a glance if you forgot to close it that morning? Well, making that a reality is actually easier (and more affordable) than you may think! Right now, Chamberlain's MyQ Smart Garage Hub is on sale for just $39.98, which is a savings of $40. In the past, this kit has sold for as much as $100, but never dropped below the $50 price point, making today's sale a new all-time low for it.

The package comes with everything that you need to convert your existing garage door into a smart one. It works with almost every garage door opener made after 1993, as long as your set up has the standard safety sensors on the doors. You'll have to connect some new door sensors to the garage door along with the included door sensor. Then connect the hub itself to your home's Wi-Fi network, and walk through the setup process in the free smartphone app.

From here you can set up notifications to be reminded if your door is left open for a preset length of time, as well as open and close your garage door right from the app. Amazon Prime members in select areas can link their MyQ account and Prime account to enable Amazon's new in-garage delivery via its Key service. You can enable voice controls via Google Assistant and IFTTT, but that does require a monthly fee of $1 or you can pay $10 per year.
