Microsoft's Surface Laptop 13-inch finally makes sense
After almost half a year on the market, I can finally recommend the Surface Laptop 13-inch to most people thanks to this incredible Black Friday deal that brings it down to just $549.
When the Surface Laptop 13-inch first launched earlier this year, I called it great in our review, but only if you consider it in a vacuum. That was because at its launch price of $899, it was just too expensive to recommend over something like a MacBook Air on student discount. I said at the time that if you were interested in grabbing one, I'd wait for sales.
Well, that time has finally come. For Black Friday, popular retailers such as Best Buy and Amazon now have the Surface Laptop 13-inch with 256GB storage on sale for just $549. At $350 off its normal price tag, the Surface Laptop 13-inch suddenly makes a lot more sense.
The Surface Laptop 13-inch is a great laptop with an excellent design and desirable build quality, paired with a top-of-the-class keyboard and trackpad that feel excellent to type with. At this price of $549, it's a total no-brainer!
For $549, you're getting yourself a good 1080p LCD touchscreen display, paired with the excellent Snapdragon X Plus SoC and 16GB RAM. It has a premium build quality that's made out of aluminum which is cold to the touch, and one of the best keyboards on the market. It also has a great mechanical trackpad that provides a satisfying click.
It's also Microsoft's best rated Surface PC when it comes to battery life. It will easily see you through the day with no issues, thanks to the large 50Wh, which when paired with the incredibly efficient Snapdragon X Plus, results in a laptop that just lasts and lasts.
I'd go so far as to say the Surface Laptop 13-inch at $549 is a no brainer. You're not going to find a better laptop on the market at this price, especially with the build quality and attention to detail that Microsoft is so good at with Surface PCs. This is basically a $549 MacBook Air that runs Windows.
Is the Surface Laptop 13-inch a Copilot+ PC?
Yes, the Surface Laptop 13-inch features an NPU that outputs 45 TOPS of power, which means it's fully capable of Copilot+ capabilities.
How does the Surface Laptop 13-inch compare to the Surface Laptop 13.8-inch?
The Surface Laptop 13-inch is Microsoft's midrange alternative to its flagship Surface Laptop, which has a 13.8-inch screen. Differences include a better 120Hz display on the 13.8-inch model, more CPU, RAM, and storage options, a haptic trackpad, and Windows Hello face unlock instead of fingerprint.
How long will the Surface Laptop 13-inch at $549 deal last?
The deal will last for as long as stock is available, or until the end of Black Friday sales, whichever comes first. So you'll have to be quick!
