My favorite Xbox controller in 2025 was held back by one annoying thing — not only has it been fixed, but it's on sale for Black Friday
I'm actually raging that I didn't notice SCUF had launched this controller in a wireless option, but you can grab it for $20 off.
I cannot believe this slipped under my radar, but SCUF has now released a wireless version of the Valor Pro, and somehow I only discovered it while casually doom-scrolling through Black Friday deals.
The brand-new SCUF Valor Pro Wireless is now available for $159.99 (down from $189.99 at Amazon) as part of SCUF Gaming’s rare Black Friday promotion. When I reviewed its wired counterpart earlier this year, the cable was the only real issue I had with it. So to happen upon this bigger and better version now, while I'm supposed to be using the sales to buy gifts for other people, is very unfortunate timing!
Built for precision and comfort, the SCUF Valor Pro Wireless gives players a competitive edge with four rear paddles and instant triggers that eliminate trigger pull for faster reactions. Enjoy seamless connectivity with low-latency wireless, Bluetooth, or ultra-fast wired mode, including a 1k Hz polling rate on PC for lightning-quick inputs.
The one thing holding this controller back is gone

When I reviewed the SCUF Valor Pro wired controller, I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, but it won me over in ways I didn't see coming. When testing it during intense Monster Hunter: World sessions that normally cause hand strain, its features and responsiveness made a noticeable difference to me, and I was soon unable to pick up the game without this specific controller.
The reason it's so ridiculously comfortable is not only the near-perfect placement of the back buttons — which I could program to cheat my way through Monster Hunter's focus mode and weapon switches — but also the slight extension of the mouse-click bumpers around the controller.
It's a small difference that you wouldn't think would be noticeable, but it feels positively divine, only having to slightly tap to get a response from your controller bumpers. I suffer from hand tension when playing games that require dodging, like Elden Ring and Dark Souls, so a controller like this is a genuine quality of life upgrade for me.
The wireless option also includes TMR thumbsticks, which are even more advanced than Hall-effect thumbsticks. I know it's not going to succumb to stick drift over time like some of my other Xbox controllers. The trigger stops are also pretty punchy, unlike some other controllers I've tried, where they don't have enough variation between the lock modes.
It did have one glaring problem, though: it was wired only and still cost $109.99, which made it a hard pill to swallow. As primarily a console gamer with kids and pets, I don't want to be tethered to my console and risk either of those critters getting clotheslined when I try and dodge roll. That small limitation is why I couldn't recommend it as a strictly "must-buy."
The wireless version, however, even though it's priced higher given the technology, I can absolutely recommend. At full price, it sits at $189.99, which is undeniably premium territory. But with the Black Friday drop to $159.99, the value proposition suddenly feels far more reasonable.
There are a couple of additional features that make it worth it, namely those TMR sticks and tri-mode connectivity: wireless, optional Bluetooth for other devices, and a 1K polling rate on PC if you want that competitive edge. I criticized the wired model for being expensive for something that still felt compromised. This, however, feels complete. And yes, I am mildly furious that I didn’t spot this sooner.
Honorable mention: The wired version is also on sale for $92.99.
