Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is the long-awaited sequel to a dark, emotional story that began nearly seven years ago, and it elevates the 3D binaural audio experience of its predecessor to all-new heights. Hellblade 2 sounds as stunning as it looks, with layered and detailed audio that almost requires that you experience it through a good gaming headset or a pair of headphones.

I played Senua's Saga: Hellblade II in its entirety, and have put together a list of some of the best Xbox gaming headsets to get the most out of Hellblade 2. If you want to enjoy the intricate soundscapes, emotional voice acting, and mind-bending effects of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, then you'll want to strap on the best headset you have lying around. If you're in the market for a new one, consider one of these (or basically any of the headsets in our ultimate list I linked above).

If you're really here just for the game, you can also check out my Senua's Saga: Hellblade II review for all the (spoiler-free) information you could need.

Reasons to buy

+
Incredible sound quality with great surround sound support

Active noise cancelation for top-notch isolation
+
Premium, comfortable design
+

Reasons to avoid

-
One of the more expensive gaming headsets

What other headset could take this spot other than the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro? In almost every category, this headset counts among the very best you can buy for any platform. It's a very premium product, but what you get in return for shelling out that cash is a well-rounded, balanced gaming headset with a staggeringly long feature set and a level of audio quality that will make everything you do sound better.

For one, the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro features active noise cancelation, meaning it uses internal microphones to filter out external noise, offering the greatest possible level of isolation. This allows you to pick out every detail from the games, movies, and music you consume, and the excellent sound quality makes it even better. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II will sound amazing on this headset, full stop.

If you're worried about battery life, don't be! Even with active noise-canceling, the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro has enough juice to play through Hellblade 2 without pause, and when you do run out of charge you can swap out the battery in moments with the extra included in the box. Native support for Xbox and Windows PC in addition to Bluetooth connectivity and simultaneous audio source mixing rounds out the Stealth Pro's credentials.

You can pick up the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro for up to $329.99 at Best Buy or Amazon, but you stand a good chance of finding it on sale!

The best audiophile Hellblade 2 headset

This headset sounds so good, I used it for absolutely everything. (Image credit: Windows Central | Zachary Boddy)
Audio fidelity that feels like a gift from the gods

Specifications

Frequency response: 10 to 50,000Hz

Connectivity: Ultra low-latency 2.4GHz wireless via USB Type-C dongle, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, hi-fi wired via USB Type-C, wired via 3.5mm audio jack
Features: Built-in Dolby Atmos license, onboard headset controls, Audeze HQ mobile & PC app, multidevice connectivity, detachable mic, mic monitoring
Battery life: Up to 80 hours

Reasons to buy

+
The greatest audio fidelity and soundstage of any wireless gaming headset
+
Built-in Dolby Atmos license for superior surround sound
+
Stable, reliable wireless connectivity
+
Long-lasting battery

Reasons to avoid

-
Awkward headset controls
-
Very heavy

Is audio fidelity number one on your list of priorities? Trust me, I get it, especially after I reviewed the Audeze Maxwell for Xbox and Windows PC. Audeze is a legendary name in the audiophile industry, known for crafting ultra-premium, extremely expensive stereo reference headsets for use by industry professionals and those with the most discerning ears. Audeze's foray into gaming has led to the Maxwell, a pricey headset that still counts among Audeze's most affordable products ever.

The Audeze Maxwell utilizes massive planar magnetic drivers to offer what may very well be the greatest sound quality of any wireless gaming headset on the planet. Clarity, detail, soundstage separation, surround sound fidelity, and frequency response are all at the height of what's possible in this price range. Combine that with excellent wireless performance with no stutters, distortion, or interference during my time with, and the Maxwell is perfect for immersive gaming, music, and media sessions.

This headset is large and heavy, though, and one feature it lacks that many headsets at this price range boast is active noise-canceling. That means external noise can still interrupt you. Audeze clearly invested a lot into the Maxwell's comfort, too, but you can only do so much when your headset weighs as much as the Maxwell does. At least you'll never have to worry about battery life, with the Audeze Maxwell able to go for dozens of hours.

You can pick up the Audeze Maxwell for Xbox for $329.99 at Amazon. There's also a PlayStation version that is more affordable, but it lacks the built-in Dolby Atmos license that helps make the Audeze Maxwell even better for games and movies (and it doesn't work with Xbox, of course).

The best budget Hellblade 2 headset

After dominating our best Xbox headsets list for years, the LS35X is now a great budget option. (Image credit: Jez Corden | Windows Central)
Still great years later, and now much more affordable

Specifications

Frequency response: 20 to 20,000Hz
Speaker size: 50mm
Connectivity: Xbox Wireless or 3.5mm cable
Features: Mic monitoring, on-ear controls, detachable mic, included carry case
Battery life: 15 hours

Reasons to buy

+
Excellent Xbox Wireless performance
+
Beautiful sound quality, especially for the price
+
Very comfortable to wear
+
Price has come down a huge amount

Reasons to avoid

-
No native wireless PC support
-
Volume dials aren't the best quality

For years, the LucidSound LS35X sat at the pinnacle of our list of the best Xbox gaming headsets due to its premium and comfortable design, native Xbox Wireless support, and great overall sound quality. However, the headset was eventually usurped by alternatives from companies like SteelSeries and Turtle Beach... At least in the premium segment. In the years since its release, the LS35X has fallen in price significantly.

Now, you can secure a LucidSound LS35X for sometimes more than half off its original retail price, making it a killer deal for anyone in the market for an affordable Xbox gaming headset. Its sound quality isn't quite as good as the best in the category now, but it's definitely better than basically every other wireless gaming headset you can get for less than $100. The biggest con with the LS35X is that you'll have to pick up an Xbox Wireless adapter for $26.98 at Amazon if you want to use it wirelessly with a Windows PC.

The LucidSound LS35X is immensely comfortable, with an attractive and premium design that doesn't stand out. Xbox Wireless support means it connects instantly to your Xbox console and can even display its current battery life on the Dashboard. Everything about this headset is designed to work perfectly with Xbox players, and it's the best way to enjoy the greatness of Hellblade 2's audio while on a budget.

You can purchase the LucidSound LS35X for as little as $69 at Amazon. If you want a slightly more premium design and the addition of Bluetooth connectivity, you can grab the LucidSound LS50X for less than $20 more, or $87 at Amazon.

How to choose the best Hellblade 2 headset

There are a lot of amazing gaming headsets, even just on Xbox. (Image credit: Windows Central | Zachary Boddy)

When I chose the three gaming headsets feature on this list, I had three primary factors in mind: how well does it work with Xbox and Windows PC, how good is the sound quality, and how reliable is the wireless connectivity? To really get the best experience when playing Senua's Saga: Hellblade II and enjoying its 3D binaural audio, you want your headset to connect easily and stay connected without interference or distortion, as well as sound great.

Overall, the best is absolutely the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro, which is our current #1 Xbox gaming headset for a lot of very good reasons. You can buy the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro for $329.99 at Best Buy, but that's understandably a high price to pay for high-end audio fidelity. If you'd rather same some cash, the LucidSound LS35X is an excellent deal after years of price cuts, and is available for just $69 at Amazon. Just be sure to factor in the cost of an Xbox Wireless adapter ($26.98 at Amazon) if you plan to use it with a Windows PC.

Really, though, any product on our list of the best Xbox and Windows PC gaming headsets will get the job done. We test all the headsets we review thoroughly, and we share our findings with you so you always know exactly what kind of product you're getting. When you're preparing to jump into one of the best Xbox games like Senua's Saga: Hellblade II for the first time, it's worth investing in the accessories that will elevate that experience to the max.

Of course, you also need to have the game. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is now available for $49.99 at Amazon, and is playable on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. It's also available through Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
