Dying Light 2 goes spooky, and The Beast update brings fresh blood to the classic — here's what you need to know
Techland’s Halloween rollout includes new content for Dying Light: The Beast and a full-blown event in Dying Light 2 — complete with themed gear, spooky challenges, and limited-time chaos.

It’s nice to see that Techland is supporting two titles at once with Dying Light: The Beast and Dying Light 2. While The Beast Within launched earlier this year as a standalone spin-off to a decent reception, Dying Light 2 first released back in 2022, where it was well-received and reviewed positively by us.
This round of updates for The Beast brings some welcome changes, including new AI behavior, community challenges, and more. With it being spooky season — or at least the tail end — fans of Dying Light 2 can dive into a new, Halloween-themed event to close out October.
Dying Light: The Beast update adds surrendering enemies and brutal finishers
The latest update for Dying Light: The Beast introduces fresh changes to the sandbox. Human enemies wielding melee weapons now react to firearms being pointed at them by surrendering, which adds a new layer of immersion and player choice.
Alongside this new AI behavior, you’ll find nine new brutal finishing moves. These executions span several weapons:
- One for one-handed bladed weapons,
- Two for long blunt weapons,

These challenges run from October 30 to November 6, 2025. Community progress is tracked at the Dying Light Outpost, and the full patch notes are available on Techland’s website.
Dying Light 2 gets Halloween Showdown event with themed enemies and rewards
Dying Light 2 isn’t left out this season. The Halloween Showdown event runs from October 30 to November 20, 2025, bringing weekly goals and competitions between two factions.
All the latest news, reviews, and guides for Windows and Xbox diehards.
Players collect candies from zombies and donate them to Baka. Completing these goals unlocks faction-themed weapons, charms, and cosmetics, depending on your team’s contribution.
The event decorates Villedor for Halloween and introduces themed enemies, like Pumpkintiles, Witches, Scaregoons, and more. The Tower Raid gets new layouts, rooftop fights, and additional visual changes. There's also new bundles that include, CyberRaider bundle and more available in-store.
There's also a new scoreboard and a new unlockable character, the Cursed Pirate and Tower Raid character CyberRaider.
Jump back in: rewards and events await in Dying Light
Both updates come packed with limited-time rewards, making this the perfect opportunity for new and returning players alike. Dying Light: The Beast offers new combat features and community goals, while Dying Light 2’s Halloween Showdown spooks up the world with themed content and cosmetics.
With events running through early to late November, there’s plenty of time to participate and unlock items. Techland’s continued support for both titles is impressive and makes jumping back in worthwhile for fans of the series or a compelling jumping in point for new players.
