Latest Xbox update adds new custom colors, smarter service alerts, and more ways to personalize your console experience

The latest Xbox Insider update, and yes, I still refuse to call it XBOX, includes some pretty nice additions. Nothing is quite as significant as some of the updates we've seen in the past, but there's still plenty here worth sharing.

First up is an update to the Xbox Accessories app, which now lets users see their actual controller within the app. It's a small but welcome change, especially for those with limited edition controllers like the latest Forza Horizon 6 one.

Next up, and continuing Xbox's recent trend of giving players what they want, the company has added more color options thanks to community feedback. A new hex code color picker lets users precisely match the color they want. Personally, I'm quite fond of a good #0077B6, but that's just me.

Moving on, Xbox is also adding an easier way to find "What's New" after an update, accessible through the dashboard's top-right navigation. For me, though, the standout addition is the ability to check Xbox service status directly on the console. If there's a confirmed issue, you'll now be notified in the upper-right corner of your screen.

Xbox are actively seeking feedback in their new XBOX Player Voice feedback forum, so if you do wish to share some feedback, whether its new ideas, or feelings on certain updates, do head over there and let Xbox know just what you think.

Now, I know this isn't the biggest update, and it comes as part of Xbox's promise to deliver consistent improvements for console users, but I'm glad we're finally seeing a steady flow of updates after the drought we seemed to be going through before Sharma became CEO of Xbox.

I must admit with each update, I am always curious what's next, as I've still got my fingers crossed for that big achievement overhaul, though I imagine that'll be much later in the year, if it's even real.

That said, let me know what you think of these changes and whether you appreciate them, even if they are on the smaller side by leaving a comment and taking part in our poll below:
