One of my favorite photography websites is 500px, it's got some really impressive work by all types of photographers and is a great place to get inspiration. Another perk is that compared to other photo sites, the layout is clean and fast, so it's easy to navigate with the photos taking center stage. We showed you My 500px for Windows Phone 8 a few days ago and want to present you with another option. An oldie, but goodie - 480px has been updated to take advantage of Windows Phone 8.
The biggest upgrade is the ability to use photo streams as an image source for your lockscreen. You also have a good variety of sources to use as the actual photo stream, like the categories 'popular, editor's choice, or upcoming' or you can make your own off of a specific user, a users favorites, etc. We reached out to the developer and he said that this version of 480px for Windows Phone 8 has been completely rewritten to deliver better performance. He's also looking into uploads in future versions as well as a Windows 8 port. In the meantime, check out all the things you can look forward to doing with the new 480px app for Windows Phone 8:
- Log in and vote on photos or mark favorites
- Browse categories or search photos
- Live tiles of photo streams - pin your to your start screen!
- Update your lock screen background with any image stream
- Zoom in for full details of images
- View your/other's stream
- View your/other's favorites
- View your/other's friends
- EXIF/Voting details
- Choose large or small thumbnails
- Share via email or social networks
Logging into your account allows you to check out some quick statistics about yourself, such as the number of your photos that have been favorited. You can also view your friends photos, your photos, or your favorites. From there you can use them as lockscreen sources, pin them to the Start screen, or add them to the main panorama view in the app.
The biggest advantage 480px has over competing 500px apps in the Windows Phone Store is its price. The app is free with no ads to be seen anywhere. If you visit 500px on a regular basis there really is no reason not to download this app right now. You can grab it here in the Store of by using the QR code below.

I've poured more than 170 hours of my time into Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, but it still doesn't feel anywhere close to a complete game. There are some solid foundations but if you're waiting for a finished experience, you'll need to continue sitting on the sidelines for now.

Review: Rain on Your Parade is a charming way to mess up people's days
If you're looking to cause mischief and love laughing at typical video game tropes, then Rain on Your Parade is the game for you. This game is perfect for killing a few hours thanks to its mix of simple gameplay and ridiculous story-telling. Plus, it's on Game Pass!

Review: AMD's impact on Surface Laptop 4 (15") makes a big difference
Surface Laptop 4 gets a significant boost in performance thanks to AMD Ryzen R7, but there are also many qualifications to that statement.
