Best Xbox games coming in May 2020: Mafia II, Maneater, and more

Every week, numerous games launch on Xbox One, but which ones truly stand out? Here are some of the biggest and most anticipated titles launching across Microsoft's platforms — including Xbox One X — next week. We have a few major releases on Xbox One, but there are still a few surprises here and there. Notably, Mafia II: Definitive Edition is launching soon. With that in mind, here are all the best games hitting the Microsoft Store next week, between May 18 and 22. You can take a look at some of our past selections here.

Mafia II: Definitive Edition

Remastered in stunning detail, live the life of a gangster during the Golden-era of organized crime in America. War hero Vito Scaletta becomes entangled with the mob in hopes of paying his father's debts. Alongside his buddy Joe, Vito works to prove himself, quickly climbing the family ladder with crimes of larger reward, status, and consequence. However, the life of a wise guy isn't quite as untouchable as it seems.

Mafia II: Definitive Edition may launch on May 19, according to an Xbox Store leak. The game runs at 4K resolution on Xbox One X.

Maneater

Experience the ultimate power fantasy as the apex predator of the seas: a terrifying shark! Maneater is a single-player, open-world action role-playing game (ShaRkPG) where you are the shark. Starting as a small shark pup you are tasked with surviving the harsh world while eating your way up the ecosystem. This mostly means eating as many humans as you can.

Maneater should launch on May 22, priced at $40. The game appears to be running at 4K resolution on Xbox One X. You can purchase it on the Microsoft Store (opens in new tab).

Saints Row: The Third Remastered

Saints Row: The Third Remastered gives you control of the Saints at the height of their power, and you live the life to show for it. This is your city. These are your rules. Remastered with enhanced graphics, Steelport the original city of sin, has never looked so good as it drowns in vice.

  • Maneater... Can't decide on whether I like it or not. Only seen the trailer, and I suspect it will be a sale purchase, at best. But... Not 100%. Not sure if there is enough variety there to hold me.
