WWE and 2K are on a roll this week with revealing gameplay information on WWE 2K26. Not content with a double-feature look at MyGM, Universe, and Creation Suite changes, 2K has released another Ringside Report covering my favorite game in a WWE 2K game, MyRise.
MyRise is a single-player story mode where you create your own custom WWE Superstar and embark on an insane, funny, and dramatic journey climbing up the roster to become the next WWE Champion.
WWE 2K26's take on this game mode will have players go on an epic comeback tour to reclaim their top spot in WWE, while engaging in new scenarios, making dialogue choices that will alter the story, and unlocking tons of rewards for all modes along the way.
Here's what you need to know about WWE 2K26's MyRise mode.
The story for WWE 2K26's MyRise mode has you play as the Archetype, a WWE Superstar who has returned to WWE after being on a two-year hiatus.
You set your sights on becoming the top dog in WWE, but your efforts are quickly dashed after getting humiliated by the current reigning WWE champion (Bron Breakker for the Men's Division and Jordynne Grace for the Women's Division), with Paul Heyman acting as their manager.
After suffering that crushing defeat, you must rethink your approach to getting back to the top of the card in any way you see fit.
All the latest news, reviews, and guides for Windows and Xbox diehards.
As with most WWE 2K MyRise modes, you will be presented with dialogue choices that will determine your character's alignment (Good or Evil), which WWE Superstars you will engage in intense rivalries with, how the crowd responds to you, and what matches you will be booked in.
Along the way, you will encounter some of your WWE Superstars and potentially fight or team up with them, depending on your choices and what Division you will be playing in.
Some of these WWE Superstars will include the likes of Jey Uso, Jacob Fatu, Ethan Page, The New Day, The Wyatt Sicks, Naomi, Roxanne Perez, Kelani Jordan, Nia Jax, and Liv Morgan.
As for gameplay changes, WWE 2K26 is looking to expand upon WWE 2K25's Live Event Match system by integrating RISE Matches into the main progression path, rather than have them be side quests.
Completing RISE Matches will advance your character's career and reward you with bonus goodies depending on how well you perform during said matches via a match star rating system.
WWE 2K26 will also feature new WWE Press Conference sequences where you talk to the press and announce what your intentions are for upcoming matches and opponents through dialogue choices.
What's more is that after claiming the WWE Championship, the story continues. After becoming champion, you are then given a choice on how your title reign will go. If you lose the title during your reign, you can compete in RISE Matches in an attempt to get it back.
Throughout WWE 2K26's MyRise mode, there are tons of unlockable content to discover in both the Men's and Women's Division storylines, which include Arenas, Champions, Create-A-Superstar parts, weapons, Paybacks, MyFACTION content, and playable characters.
Some of these rewards feature a retro skin of CM Punk during his days in Ring of Honor and the late, great WWE Hall of Famer, Dusty Rhodes, as a playable character.
I can't wait to get stuck into MyRise and show Bron Breakker who has the better Spear
MyRise is my absolute favorite game mode of the WWE 2K games.
The storylines are delightly over-the-top (much more so than real life WWE storylines), fun, unconventional matches, narrative choices that drastically change the story rather than slightly, and cool moments that make you feel like a real WWE Superstar.
I loved WWE 2K25's MyRise and its insane storyline involving NXT Mutiny trying to take over WWE, so I can't wait to see how WWE 2K26's Comeback Tour story will try to top it when WWE 2K26 launches on March 13, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Windows and Steam.
