First game details for WWE 2K26 have reportedly been revealed — including CM Punk, one of the world's best wrestlers, to headline its Showcase Mode
According to Insider Gaming, players will get to relive classic moments of CM Punk's career and fight in "What if?" dream matches in WWE 2K26's Showcase Mode
The road to Wrestlemania 42 has begun, and so has the road to WWE 2K26 if the latest rumors are to be believed. It comes from a reputable source, as Insider Gaming has acquired an exclusive scoop revealing some information on the next entry in 2K's long-running wrestling game franchise.
According to the Insider Gaming post, WWE 2K26 is scheduled to launch around March 2026, and its Showcase Mode will be centered around one of WWE's greatest Superstars, CM Punk.
For those who don't know, Showcase Mode is a mixture between an arcade mode and a documentary that covers the history of WWE Superstars, or its live events like Wrestlemania.
For example, WWE 2K25's Showcase Mode covered the history of the Bloodline faction and various wrestlers associated with it, like The Rock, Roman Reigns, The Usos, The Wild Samoans, Umage, Rikishi, and more.
It allowed players to reenact a wrestler's greatest matches in-game, take in dream matches that never got to happen in real life, or change history by helping certain wrestlers beat opponents they lost to in real life.
And now, WWE 2K26 is reportedly retaining this game, but this time it will have players relive the greatest moments of CM Punk, who also happened to be the focus of this franchise's very first Showcase Mode all the way back in WWE 2K15.
CM Punk is regarded by millions as one of the best wrestlers to ever step foot in the squared circle for his unparalleled charisma, determination, controversial rebellious streak, and unmatched wrestling skills.
All the latest news, reviews, and guides for Windows and Xbox diehards.
Even before he cut his infamous "Pipe-Bomb" promo in 2011 that blurred the line between reality and fiction, fans have cheered CM Punk's name for decades and will continue do so for years to come.
Now, fans will get to relive the Pipe-Bomb promo in-game, playing in CM Punk's greatest matches against the likes of John Cena and Drew McIntyre, and even experience a "What If" story of what might've happened to CM Punk had he stayed in WWE instead of leaving it for several years in 2014, when WWE 2K26 drops on March 2026.
However, it is best to keep in mind that we haven't received any confirmation from 2K if Insider Gaming's info from 2K is true, so take this scoop with a grain of salt if it gets debunked officially by 2K.
Are you excited for a CM Punk Showcase Mode in WWE 2K26? Are there any WWE Superstars, both new and classic, you would like to see playable in WWE 2K26?
