There are clear similarities between Netflix and Xbox Game Pass, with both offering subscription models packed with content and both providing incentives to stay subscribed.
It's also true that Game Pass has often been described as “the Netflix for games,” and it seems that idea may go further.
Xbox’s new CEO, Asha Sharma, has reportedly been in talks with Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters, with the pair having “kicked around ideas,” according to The Information.

According to the report, Asha Sharma and Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters have been in discussions about how Xbox and Netflix could work together on a subscription bundle. Nothing has been confirmed, but Peters said he “wouldn’t eliminate any possibilities.”
Peter’s also speaks to how he believes Sharma is approaching and looking at Xbox, stating:
"She comes in with an observation that—to some degree—that division has been run a little bit defensively for the last couple of years… and I think she’s trying to reinvigorate an invest-to-grow kind of model rather than a cut-to-make-targets model."
When discussing how a collaboration would work between Netflix and Xbox, Peter’s adds:
You would have to do it in a way that works for the consumer and works for both companies, and frankly, I think Microsoft's still trying to figure out how to make the Game Pass bundle work for Microsoft... But what I like about Asha's thinking is, it's all about, 'How do we do more?' And it’s already been exciting to watch.

It seems Asha Sharma has hit the ground running since taking on the role of Xbox CEO, and I am all for it.
Whether it is giving more resources to Xbox engineers to improve the user experience on console or getting rid of the now-defunct “This is an Xbox” campaign that everyone and their moms hated, I am here for whatever Sharma is doing behind the scenes.
It's also nice to get these small glimpses of how Sharma is operating behind the scenes, giving us a good idea of just how proactive she is being.
Would you be interested in a Game Pass x Netflix subscription bundle?
For me, it’s hard to say. I am already a bit fed up with paying for Game Pass Ultimate, as the new additions meant to ease the price hike are not things I am personally interested in.
Ultimately though, this all comes down to price, as anything above the current $30 price tag is an immediate no, at least to me.
Anyway, enough about my thoughts. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment or taking part in our poll below:
