Gigantic open beta set to kick off on December 8 for Xbox One and Windows 10

Following a rather long period of development, Motiga's Gigantic is about to take one gigantic step closer to release. Motiga has announced that the open beta for the MOBA-like Gigantic will officially kick off on December 8. With its start, anyone will be able to jump into the game and give it a whirl on Xbox One and Windows 10 as Motiga seeks further feedback and testing ahead of release.

The open beta will kick off as a part of Microsoft's Game Preview Program with cross-play between platforms. Throughout the course of its run, player will be able to pick from a weekly rotation of six heroes out of a total roster of 16. Three maps will also be available to play. From Motiga:

Each hero features a unique playstyle that can be further customized via skill trees during each match. Teams work together to attack enemies while claiming points on the map to summon powerful Creatures. Players can power up their team's Guardian by controlling the battlefield and defeating enemies. Victory is awarded to the team that overpowers their opponents' Guardian.

Curiously, some may note that Gigantic actually quietly hit the Windows Store earlier this month. However, December 8 looks to mark the "official" start to the open beta period with Xbox One joining the fray.

There's no indication on how long the open beta will run, but it's a great opportunity to try out what looks to be some unique and intriguing MOBA-style action. In any case, if you're interested in giving Gigantic a shot, the open beta will officially commence on December 8.
