Windows Central review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Why is this 2024 laptop worth it in 2025 and beyond?

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 is one of the best Windows-on-ARM laptops we've ever seen and one of the finest Copilot+ PCs available. Our Senior Editor and Windows laptop expert, Zac Bowden, loved it so much that he labelled it better than the MacBook Air when he gave the Surface Laptop a perfect 5/5 review score.

This configuration of the Surface Laptop 7 that's on sale features a thin, minimalist design fit for portable travel, a 15-inch touchscreen display capable of rendering images with smooth 120Hz refresh rates, and 66Whr of battery life to get you through the day.

Additionally, this laptop includes performance-enhancing hardware to improve workflow production, like Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite processor, 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and a neural processing unit (NPU) capable of 45 TOPS to help it perform local AI tasks more efficiently.

While its specs are not suitable for playing AAA PC games, they're absolutely perfect for workplace environments or casual browsing, as they make multitasking with Microsoft Office apps and researching information on the internet a breeze.

The only major problem with this laptop, aside from no anti-reflective coatings for its screen or presence detection features, is its relatively steep MSRP of $2,099.99.

Thankfully, this price point has become more affordable for a limited time as it's now $1,459.99 at Amazon, giving PC users a chance to buy it for Christmas and use it tackle new office challenges awaiting them in 2026 and beyond.

Need smaller and less?

If the 15-inch model isn't your cup of tea, the 13.8" version with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, 256GB of storage, and 16GB of RAM is also heavily discounted to the lower price we've ever seen, at just $699 on Amazon.

That's over 1/2 off this model and is still one of our favorite configurations (yes, you can manually update the M.2 SSD).
