HTC One M8 for Windows now available from T-Mobile US

The HTC One M8 for Windows is now available online from T-Mobile US. This is in line with previous reporting. T-Mobile quietly added a support page for the One M8 yesterday. Customers can get the One M8 on T-Mobile for $0 up front with a Simple Choice Plan, or pay the full retail price of $585.

The HTC One M8 for Windows packs a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 5-inch HD display. It features two rear cameras, the primary "ultrapixel" shooter, along with a second sensor for depth of field information, allowing for new photo effects. The One M8 previously launched exclusive to Verizon, before heading to AT&T on Friday.

  • Yes,yes I am
  • Do it! Do it! Do it!
  • I want one too!! Maybe it's time to port out from VZW
  • Notice the article noted a quiet release of the support page. Perhaps so they can more easily relegate the m8 to the darkest part of the store. :(
  • LOL. And d.o.l it too like the 810
  • I went into an AT&T store today because T-Mobile didn't have it yet and asked if they had it.  They looked at me like I was crazy, said, "No no no, your best bets will be Best Buy or Microsoft Store."  And then they sent me on my merry way with chuckles.  The lesson of this outing?  I think we might be lucky if it makes it into stores...
  • I got mine at an at&t store in Delaware. Love this phone. Hopefully it will catch on.
  • Very tempting, but what about the support that Lumia owned receive? Should get it for my girl since she hates the 521 badly
  • I wonder if there is a legal way to put Windows on an android version of the m8?
  • Why when there is a windows phone version of it?
  • Because he either already has the android version, or he is on a smaller carrier that only carries the android version is my guess. I am in the latter situation and would also like to know the answer to that question. Posted via my HTC One (M7) or Surface Pro 3
  • Any news on what happened to this phone? All we get now is that it's coming soon.
  • Just need to convince my parents it's worth it. Teenager problems...
  • Just tell them if they also have WP you can coordinate family stuff with Family Room :)
  • I did it by telling them they can search my phone wherever it is
  • Don't forget to tell them about drive mode. It will block all text while driving.
  • And that all your friends have them and you'll look stupid with an "uncool" iphone or galaxy :P
  • Lol u guys are geniuses
  • Your parents shouldn't spend that kind of money on a phone for a teenager. Get a 635 until you can afford your own high end devices.
  • ^Debbie downer everyone lol
  • +1020 ;)
  • No crap, right?
  • Says a person who never seen teenagers with iPhones Posted via the Windows Phone Central App for Android
  • One must live a cave to NOT see a teenager with an iPhone
  • I did that.
  • I have a 925 because i said that i didn't wanted a 520... I have earned the money and my father gave me the permission of buying the phone i want.. Now i want this M8 ( but i will wait January to see if arrives in EU or if will come out a new top lumia )
  • I'd be using my own money, I just have to convince them to let me use my own money. I already have a 521 so I decided I wanted to get a high end device this time.
  • Spoken like a parent. :)
  • tell them grindr isnt available on it.
  • lmao, exactly. he'd have to go woof.
  • ^^LMFAO
  • Worldwide release now maybe?!
  • Going to head to the store and check it out first.
  • Did they have any?
  • The magenta theme is very appropriate for the phone... :P
  • I hate how everything they come out with is either white or pink. The Lumia 521 was only available in white and so was their version of the 635. T mobile get it together, not everyone likes pink or white.
  • well, at least it's for branding. and at least you could change the cover on the 635, so there's that
  • Get new backcovers? Heck I even have that option on a 925
  • Huh, the T-Mobile version is cheaper than the Verizon and AT&T version.
  • All T Mobile phones are 0$ down payment. That's how they are growing so fast.
  • But even the full retail price is lower, AT&T and Verizon are charging over $650 for each.
  • He means the out of contract price is like $70 less than the ATT version.
  • its competition . not really a big deal
  • 10% / $65 less is a big deal, when it's nearly enough to get you a HP Stream 7 at $99.
  • I thought the down payment was subject to credit check?
  • Right. $0 down for qualified buyers... Some $ down for less qualified buyers.
  • How much is Verizons and atts?
  • $650, I believe.
  • It's $599 over on Verizon Wireless; it's $99 down with a two year contract and an individual line will run you $60, so the math before tax is a total of $1539 and on EDGE it's $24,99 and the minimum monthly cost with their 1GB plan is $45.00 plus $24.99 for a total of $69.99 and the math there is $1679.76.
  • Another windows phone launched without telling anyone about it. Wonderful strategy.
  • It was announced
  • On twitter? That really doesn't count.
  • Ummm twitter most definitely counts! Everyone is on twitter and if you're not, than you haven't adopted reality
  • All the people that I know don't even use twitter
  • All the people that I know.. I think they use twitter more than they use Windows Phone..
  • You mean the built in functionality of Windows phone......
  • I don't use it
  • %Twitter I don't want to and no one can make me. Go Follow and Like your local weathercaster.
  • How does that not count?? Twitter is a very good source for announcements such as this.
  • Twitter is a very good source for mind rot... %SocialMedia
  • Where did you was complainer? Complaining in another place?
  • It was launched in August with a conference...
  • August and it's now November, people have moved on from that announcement and need to be reminded again and twitter isn't cutting it.... Store promotions would be better as when I'm looking for info on a new phone, I don't get it from twitter, Facebook, or any social site
  • My 521 just updated but if I come into some money this would be nice.
  • Money? Is 0$ down. Monthly payment remain the same under contract.
  • Going into debt for a phone... /smh
  • If $25 a month puts you in debt go buy one of Craigslist. Posted via the Windows Phone Central App for Android
  • That $25/month is your repayment for the debt you got yourself into.
  • Keywords here: "under contract"
  • Is there a way to get the blinkfeed app for Lumias? For a dev-unlocked phone?
  • It has blinkfeed already
  • Nope. OEM-locked, like Lumia apps
  • No, use weave
  • Weave is better in my opinion. Magnify is ok too.
  • Great Coverage, fast data speeds, customer service, but still haven't improved THIS. Now all three have it except for Sprint... I love my Ativ S Neo but they're really making it harder for me :( I want a Flagship Windows Phone!
  • you are on a sinking ship dude
  • ATT is the best when it comes to Windows Phone selection (and dare I stick out my nose and say they are good with updates as well?)
  • They are the best except when it comes to the Lumia 930... Would have bought a new 930 instead of my refurb 925 but at least I saved some money.
  • You mean with the exception of them ruining their exclusive on the 1520 , too bad Microsoft can't do a retro accessories release with covers like the L830 to at least give it the dual choice of wireless charging. If an all carrier release of the 1520 with Nokia's original specs had been made l am convinced it would have been a major success in the U.S. and might have even broken down some of the media bias that is so prevalent and blatantly against anything Windows phone!
  • If you wanna count the 1520 that they butchered them okay. Posted via the Windows Phone Central App for Android
  • I don't think that will happen again regarding Qi. Remember they gave both for...L830.
  • I have a 520 and its worse than the Samsung focus that i had a long time ago. I loved my 1020 before I shattered the screen, and I don't know if I should pay the 200 deductible for a replacement or get the m8 or just wait to see what else comes out. Any advice?
  • Nothing is coming out anytime soon. Also, you cant go from a 1020 to a 520 or focus and say, "its worse..." Both are/were great phones.
  • This is my 3rd smartphone I went with a blackberry 8110 plenty years ago then I tried Android OS with a my touch 3g then I came at a touchdown with (Windows phone) Lumia 521 - am thinking of a worthy upgrade and the Lumia 635 fits the pricing and all but am so feeling left out because they still didn't upgrade to 1gb of ram .the screen size is perfect having one camera is an ok seeing how its a budget device but am tired of missing out on top games or apps that needs that more ram to play bummer I don't think I will find anything as affordable and such screen size as the 635's pricing that's windows OS
  • Microsoft is rumored to be showcasing a new phone later this week, which is the Lumia 535 with 1 Gb of Ram.
  • 830 is an excellent combination of price, size, quality, medium to long term investment in a phone. If your budget is a little flexible, and dont want to keep waiting for W10...
  • Get the M8. It's great hardware and a really nice phone. People will tell you their support has been lacking in the past but they are improving. To give credit to HTC they do know how to make a nice phone.
  • Microsoft is revealing a phone Nov. 11...idk if it's a low end phone, but you could wait a couple of days to find out.
  • $200 deductible from which carrier? Don't waste your time going to the carriers. Go to a Microsoft Store instead. I'm on At&t. My daughter dropped my 920 on the concrete and destroyed the screen. At&t wanted me to pay $125 for a REFURBISHED 920 with a 1 year warranty. I went to the Microsoft Store and paid $99 for a BRAND NEW 920, any color of my choosing might I add, which came with a 2 year warranty which also covered water and physical damage. I will NEVER go back to At&t for anything. My upgrades will all be done at the Microsoft Store. Check it out before you settle on something you really don't want.
  • Do they sell unlocked 1520s?
  • No but you can get either the 635 or 1020 unlocked.
  • Wow isn't that nice the M8 is now on Verizon, Att & TMobile 0 on SPRINT .... They are the worst Cell phone Carrier in the WORLD...
  • Lol I feel sorry for those WP fans with Sprint
  • Don't feel sorry for me. I like my Ativ S Neo and have no issue with coverage.
  • lmfao you've clearly never used EE in the UK. They are the worst carrier in the world.
  • What's wrong with EE? They have great coverage and prices, the only thing bad about them is their customer service, but that doesn't really matter.
  • EE has great prices? Better value for money than Three?
  • MSFT should learn from HTC (a much smaller but a wiser company than msft) having a new smartphone on the market and already in 3 of the most important US carriers taking advantage of the launch inertia. WAKE UP MICROSOFT EXECUTIVES OR RESIGN!
  • Wait for the 11th folks. Your dumb if you can't wait two days. MS may have a better all carrier device. DO NOT PURCHASE YET
  • Yea this is not a constructive comment. It doesn't matter for those of us on T-Mobile anyway because we can jump again 6 months from now.
  • If you have the new Jump feature, you could Jump after a couple of days as long as you pay off half this phone and trade it in. The old Jump, you only have to wait six months after your first upgrade... after that, you get two per year.
  • Your going to throw away money just because you can't wait two days? Pretty much everyone has JUMP now lol. The smart thing to do is just wait TWO days. I know its been a long time waiting but that should mean u can wait just a little longer.
  • I'll wait and decide Tuesday what I am getting.
  • : Thumbs up:
  • It's not wasting money if it's $0 down. My 925 has too many hardware issues, I can't wait to get rid of it.
  • If it has hardware issues replace it. Mine has zero. And it is wasting money no matter how much you sugar coat it. Idk why it's so difficult to wait two days. Your one of a small few with hardware issues. People aren't fans of Nokia because their hardware sucks. Do as you please. I was simply reminding everyone that waiting two measly days won't hurt
  • Except most of wc and the windows phone user base are fans of Nokia lol and aren't fans of HTC simply because they don't support the os lol.
  • And then there's that obvious fact ;)
  • This is already my 3rd replacement, well I might have to wait If they won't upgrade me today because I'm pretty much broke until Thursday.
  • You will still have to pay tax on full price.
  • I had a 925 for ever... Never had any hardware or software problem...
  • Exactly. People this is all common sense stuff lol.
  • Exactly, I've had my 925 for over a year and have had no problems with it. I'm waiting until late 2015 for a WP 10 to release on T mobile
  • I'm not waiting for wp10 coz whatever flagship I get next I'll have dev preview when its available. Screw waiting
  • That's not a bad suggestion at all. For whatever reason people Insist on getting the phone they can wait 2 days to see what if anything is getting released for tmobile or other carriers. Common sense and if nothing then they get the one and hopefully it wont be a waste for them.
  • Yea I'm waiting to Tuesday after that I might pull the trigger even tho u don't like HTC phones but I have to get out of this 635
  • If Tuesday proves to be a waste of time then yes. Get the HTC. I will also get it. But we need to be patient.
  • I was going to get the 1520 unlocked but zero down and 20 a month you can't beat that. I'm going to read in the forums about the phone some more tho
  • Exactly. Ill get the HTC in two days if not just for the simple fact (as others argued) I can JUMP later on. I can handle using the HTC for 6 months if needed. Heck ill pay whatever the difference is too get half paid to move onto a new Lumia. I just want something new to use. With a nice big screen. Ill miss glance the most
  • This shouldn't be too bad of a phone tho. And it's only 585 shouldn't be hard to post half of the phone in no time. I'm going to read more on it but I was dead set on a unlocked 1520 but its a bit easier to get this with zero down and 24 a month
  • You're!
  • Wait two days to see a phone that T-Mobile may carry a year from now?  When we are on T-Mobile, we have to take what we can get before they pull its availability...
  • Regardless... In two days you'll know. If they say TMO will have it "in coming months" then get the HTC. Thats what im going to do. Idk why none of u can understand such a simple concept.
  • We all have to wait over 2 days anyways, because this article is incorrect.  The T-Mobile Launch date for the HTC One M8 for Windows is not today.  It is November 12th.
  • Seems that's the case because I just went in today and they told me the shipments were delayed and that they won't have any in stock until Wednesday.
  • Maybe we understand the "simple concept" but have a different stance based on our situation, (cracked glass on a HTC 8X) and can't wait 6 months for a new phone from Microsoft to make its way to T-Mobile.  Maybe we are not idiots...
  • Two days. Lol. Then get the HTC. Make sure they aren't getting one THEN get a One.
  • Tmo dropped it befor AT&T?  Either way, its awesome hardware to run Win 8.1 on.
  • Nah Jaz, At&t had it since Friday along with the 830.
  • AT&T released it on Friday 11/7. Pretty interesting that their off contract price is $670 though, compared to $585 on TMo.
  • Coz AT&T is a rip off. Many have made piece with this already lol
  • 670? Yikes.  I know Tmo doesn't have the network AT&T has but that's a good sized price difference.
  • No, it was released on the 7th on att
  • Just shows 'COMING SOON' at the moment.
  • It doesn't show when try to upgrade your phone
  • Wait two days for MS
  • I was thanks for the tip made my day.
  • Wow if I can get it for zero down I might do it. Just to get off this 635. The price is not bad
  • I'm doing it to get off this 925, it has so many hardware problems it's unbelievable. Hopefully they let me upgrade today since my bill is due and I'm broke until Thursday.
  • Ha ha same situation I just set up payment arrangement for Saturday. Let me know if they let you get it for zero down like they advertise
  • Hell no!
  • I may pick this one up at some point to use on WIND here in Canada.
  • This is good for tmobile...and WP in general. Hopefully this can get the platform some more market share.
  • Sure this is available to order now? Product page says Coming Soon, and it's not an available phone to select when attempting to upgrade.
  • Refresh the page a few times. That's what it took for me to get it to switch from the Coming Soon page to the Buy Now page.
  • I logged in and now see the Buy Now button for it. However, it's not an available phone to select when doing a Jump upgrade. :(
  • Nice phone..except for the camera. I was not impressed at all by the camera.
  • I like the camera. To each his own...
  • Lmao of course you do. But yeah Jason it is a nice phone with an unimpressive camera.
  • Meanwhile, I have an ATIV, a 920 and now a One and can compare objectively. Who's a bit more qualified to speak on this?
  • I have a iPhone 6+, 1020, 1520, and an HTC one m8(sigh how in the hell I winded up winning the raffle to win a phone I don't like is beyond me) and soon today an 830 to compare. So I guess that would make me more qualified. But I digeesss :P
  • Key phase "I can compare objectively". You can barely think outside of the Lumia ecosystem and everyone here knows this. We both know you'd would never give the One a fair shake, in fact I don't even know why you bothered to comment on this article, but you throwing on your cape to defend something no one is attacking is to be expected.
  • I have to agree with cannon#WP about Superboy Micah. Micah fan boy 'ism causes Micah's recommendations to always lean towards Lumias (no matter what). The M8's camera is Sharp, Quick and looks awesome however the 1020 & 1520 are beast when it comes to taking pictures. The Hardware, accessories & design on the M8 is what makes it stand out.
    You won't be disappointed.
  • Actually that's bs. For starters if I had to take a phone that wasn't a Lumia it would be the iPhone which can do more than the Lumia without the power of course and definitely better quality than the one lol. I also can recommend non Lumia phones to others as I recommended Samsung ativ to those wanting a windows phone that wasn't icon and seeing as I work in sales, unfortunately, I also may recommend Lumia but I can also talk up good things about the m8 or any other phone despite my preference. I can compare objectively as well. I simply choose not to hype up irrelevant features of a phone like an ir blaster or the fact it has an 801 processors knowing full well the difference between the two is minute and marginal. You really should and your friend evolution should stop speaking of me as if you know me on a personal basis and my thought process. We know each other through a forum about windows.
  • That could explain why you like the camera. It's probably better than the ATIV and 920 cameras. I'm speaking from having had a Focus, 900, 920, 1020 & 1520. The last two of which both have excellent cameras. I felt the camera on the One was just okay - maybe comparable to the quality of the 920 camera. The one thing I did like about the camera is how fast it snapped pictures.
  • See I actually thought the Titan II had a really good camera too, it just lacked low light capabilities. Using the 920 and taking the 1520 for a very short spin, I take nothing away from PureView, I just find the One's camera unfairly maligned. I've already got some great shots with ProShot and nice depth effects with the duo camera, the type of stuff I had to do manually with other phones.
  • I went to stores on Friday and they aren't on display, the stores just sell iPhones, they don't even want to put up a damn display, unbelievable
  • They're not in stores yet but you can order online. Stores don't open here till 12 (10:30 now) and I'm actually hoping they'll have them in the store when they open since today is the actual launch date.
  • I would love to get the M8, but I like the camera on my Icon
  • ^+Icon
  • Still shows 'COMING SOON' but now with bigger font  lol
  • If you have an account, Login and look again. I also noticed refreshing page a few times and it would load the actual Buy Now page.
  • I have an account and I did what you suggested (thanks). However when I 'Buy Now' they're wanting me to buy plan, too. I already have the Unlimited Simple Choice ... can't see a way to buy the phone outright.

  • Ahh. I didn't click to buy but tried and yea does same for me. Call Customer Service and see if they'll place order for you. Probably what I'm going to do if site doesn't have one.
  • I'll do the same. Store opens @ noon so I'll check there first.
  • I wouldn't mind this phone but I'm unsure about the software navigation keys and I want to wait to see if there will be a flagship from Microsoft by February or near. Also, HTC is horrible with providing updates
  • Honestly, the software keys are NO different from capacitive keys. That was one of my worries but I don't even think about it now. Unless you're coming from actually physical keys like the old LG phones, it's not a big deal.
  • I much prefer capacitive as well on my phone.
  • Software keys are going to be the norm...
Only thing I'll miss is the dedicated camera button
  • If Microsoft doesn't reveal a flagship on Tuesday then I'll get this one. I don't like the software navigation keys though.
  • Microsoft won't release flagship untill windows 10 for phones is out. Microsoft has done many big changes after Ballmer and it will take time for flagships to be released. dont expect any high end phone now. Microsoft isnt in a mood to waste money. they will only release budget ones.
  • W10 and hardware are, as far as I can tell, independent. I.e. even any current phone should get W10. So there is no must, per se, for MS to wait until W10 (which is probably not in phones until mid-2015). Having said that it is certain that there won't be any flagship announced on 11.11.
  • They quietly launched it? Lol this is ridiculous
  • Agreed. Sad times.
  • Went to the flagship at&t store here in San Diego yesterday to get one but they never received a single unit to sell. They had a demo phone out to play with bit that was it.
  • Can order online but store opens at 12 so I'm going to head over and see if they'll match online  (sales tax sucks here) Pretty stoked. The guys (couple girls too, lol) at the Tmo store I have found here are actually pretty awesome.
  • Probably will.
  • I spent a good hour comparing the HTC One M8 against my Lumia 1520 yesterday and I was not impressed. Let me start off by saying that it's a good phone, but it doesn't compete with the 1520. The build quality is great, but the screen is not as responsive, clear, or bright as the 1520. The Charging port is not centered at the bottom, its offset to the right for some reason. The headphone jack is at the bottom right next to the charging port. The Camera is significantly worse that the 1520's camera. I tested it for a good 15 minutes (I REALLY wanted to leave the ATT store with the phone) The phone's size is perfect, I just wish the lock button was not on top. Any phone over 5 inches should have the button on the sides. The speakers are great, no complaints there. Microphone recording quality is great as well. The camera app from HTC is really nice and fast, but not as feature packed as the Nokia camera apps. I can personally deal with all these issues except for the camera quality. They really need to up their game there, my Lumia 920 had better images. The image quality disparity is especially noticeable in nicely lit areas. I wasn't able to test it in low light situations. Hope this helps someone.
  • Ironically I have the opposite opinion. I can agree image quality is not as good, but the 1520 did not excite me at all while I can't put my One down. The screen is plenty bright and responsive to me. I wouldn't say the camera is significantly worse, but I can agree it's not as good, BUT it's plenty good for posting to instagram, twitter and facebook and the depth stuff is pretty cool. I can do the same stuff with ProShot on here that I could with a PureView so they're both pretty feature equivalent. Low light performance is pretty nice. There's also the IR blaster that, while it may be a gimmick, it's a really really cool gimmick. Obviously this is all opinion but I'd say it's not a blow out win for the 1520, is just what you prefer.
  • The camera is good for social networking for the one and you can do more than use your camera on Lumia for facebook, especially with the 1020 but specifically the 1520. The screen on the m8 is nice but the screen on the 1520 has a few cool tricks such as outdoor visibility which is amazing compared to others and with coming soon, the super sensitive touch that makes using it with glove a breeze. Ir blaster is irrelevant. Why not mention period would actually care about on the m8 like its speakers. That's a win for the m8 though the speakers on the 1520 are not bad at all. You can use pro shot camera to do what preview can. Lmao last I checked pureview was a mix of excellent hardware built around software. Pro shot is nice but it is not a pureview camera app and it still can only work within the m8 limitations. So let's not. I am not even hating on the phone. It's annoying I won one but I really wish people would stop trying to downplay and make excuses for the camera.
  • Sigh, do I have to smash you everytime? The Lumia's trick of ramping up the screens contrast to combat the sun does not really help and is more of an annoyance. I'm having no problems reading your asinine comment directly in the sun as I type. You say the it blaster is irrelevant but then mention super sensitive touch when that feature is irrelevant except for a few months in the year in certain climates while must people have TVs and love the IR blaster on the Galaxy, so it's VERY relevant that this is the first WP device with it. I need not mention the speakers because that was an obvious win. And if you read right I was saying using ProShot with the One is just as good as using ProShot with PureView and it's software algorithms. There are no excuses to make. The One can take pics just as good as the 1520 and Malatesta proved it when he compared the two with the ATIV SE. We agree on one thing, it is annoying you win one when someone else more deserving should've gotten it.
  • I don't give a shit about the camera on a cell phone so the One M8 was an easy choice for me. Blows my old Icon out of the water in build quality, looks, battery life, and performance.
  • T-Mo, get the 930 and you have a new customer.
  • We need an international version :(
  • Called about six stores, call tmobile and it is NOT avaliable yet.
  • Everything looks good on this phone except no wireless charging. I am way too invested with chargers now to go without that feature.
  • Not available http://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phones/htc-one-m8-for-windows.html
  • I'd consider Jumping from my 925 since I'd have another Jump available should T-Mobile miraculously get a new high-end Lumia, but I still don't know if I want to lose wireless charging and a few Lumia-exclusive Denim features. Plus, I don't know about that camera...
  • Looks like we are in the same boat with similar concerns...decisions decisions
  • I'm going to the store right now
  • Ed
Yes I will get the new HTC phone
  • Problem I have is that HTC and Tmo are very bad with the updates on Windows phones
  • If you're on T-Mobile get this phone. It's beautiful and a blast to use.
  • Seems faster!
  • Seriously considering it
  • Hold on, it says coming soon on the website. Who has actually gotten this phone online? It also says backordered. I'm going to T mobile here in a min. Hope they have it in the store for purchase, if not I can wait for it to ship. Why such a silent release. Also it's not even on the front page of T mobile as a new device. I had to scroll all the way to the bottom to find the device. Pathetic!
  • It's already obvious that t-mobile is not marketing this device, nor do they really care about it I got no notification it was available even though I signed up to be notified It's NOT a featured phone, even the 5s is more prominent on the website and other budge android phones than this How is the newest t-mobile addition buried at the bottom of the web page This is ridiculous
  • You'll probably get notified tmrw
  • I just went to the store.  They do not have the phone.  They looked online and could not complete the purchase for me.  They recommended that I go home and call customer care or order it online myself.  T-mobile does not support Windows Phone at all.  The guy at the store says, "You like the Windows platform?"  I said, "I love it.". He says, "Just not a lot of people using it.".  That is because they only have 1 piece of crap Windows Phone!!!
  • They didn't even know that T-Mobile was going to carry the phone.  Guy said, "I don't think we will ever be carrying that phone.  I think it is an exclusive to another network."
  • I got a similar response.  "Oh I haven't heard of that phone..."  This was a manager as well...if you're going to work in the phone industry, I shouldn't know your products better than you no matter how well or poorly they sale.
  • Awesome! I wonder how long they'll actually support it. Offer me an unlocked, unbranded one, and then we'll talk.
  • I really like the support from HTC with Windows Phone. :)
  • You've got to be joking
  • Hahahahaa :D
  • I called T-Mobile yesterday and the guy on the phone told me that the lauch date was November 12th.  This article made me question that, but it appears that the phone is not avaiable yet.  I would like to know if it will be availble in-store or online only.
  • The stock date could be 11th. Release 12th. Makes more sense
  • I was in a retail store yesterday and repmsaid online only till 12th then stores would have.
  • Not really my kind of flgship for tmobile.  Need my Lumia.
  • Would have preferred gunmetal.
  • I'm currently using the Lumia 930 here in Nigeria but I also love the HTC One M8. It's a good thing we only have the Lumia 930 here otherwise people like me will be confused between choosing of the two. Great hardware, great OS!
  • Welcome, I've never seen your name before.
  • I want this device here in europe.. Will it arrive? Could i buy it in the USA ?
  • This article is incorrect.  WPC can you please update and correct this so people don't drive to the store based on this article?
  • This is only announced today. Won't be available until the week before thanksgiving per a T-Mobile corporate store manager.
  • No matter how much marketing is done it all comes down to sales reps in the stores where majority just push the other to platforms. I hope this phone sells well now since it is being available on all three major networks
  • I have a T-Mo 925 which I ❤ Especially since the Cyan Update. But I have to admit that this device is pushing my temptation buttons. I may wait a bit and then check out eBay as I did with my 925
  • Wait does anyone realize this comes out to $24.40 per month over 2 years and that's not even for service which is like $584. So where's the deal!?
  • Also service is what $50-$60 which would be an additional $1200-$1400 in that time.
  • I'm totally picking this up when its available retail on Tuesday. HTC got me started on WP way back with the HD7. Can't wait to see how this one is...
  • Sorry-no Band 12.....
  • Omg, your name cracked me up
  • Went to the store 20min ago. They first had never herd of the phone or even had it in stock. She could not even order it since it didnt appear on her computer. This an extremely bad release on T-Mobile's part since they are just ashamed of getting this phone so late
  • Thils would have to rate as the worst product launch.   I chatted with an T-mobile rep - she could not order one for me.  I called 10 stores - 8 of them had not even heard of the this and were happily ordering me the Android version.  MSFT has to get better at managing thieir brand and products - the carriers are just screwing it up.
  • Don't trust HTC with updates...
  • T-Mo will give me $72 bucks trade in for my 925. I wonder how much Craig will give me on his list LOL
  • I love how T-Mobile supports this new product by placing it at the BOTTOM of their webpage!
  • Unfortunately, that's par for the course cause its all about the iPhone for them.
  • No longer at the bottom of the page.
  • My 520 is really bad. When i press the home button it crashes back to the app. Then it takes a minute to load the start screen. And loads tiles one at a time. Just wondering if this is with everybody else, or if its normal for this low end phone. Thanks. +1020
  • Never heard a phone being that slow. Seems like you might need to do a hard reset.
  • I've tried that and everything else. Same results
  • I like it
  • Doesn't seem to support Wi-Fi calling.  Is this just an omission, do you think?  The android version supports it.  I'm considering switching from Verizon (don't get me started), but T-Mobile doesn't have good service at my house, so Wi-Fi calling is pretty important for me.
  • I have the Android version and I would jump all over this phone, but for two things... It's almost a year old, and nobody has written the app for my lighting that is all over my house... Let alone my local bank app. Posted via the Windows Phone Central App for Android
  • switch to bank of america. they have that cool red color scheme, and a solid WP app.
  • I use them for my business account, but prefer free checking and real people locally for personal banking. We don't have an actual BoA branch around here. Posted via the Windows Phone Central App for Android
  • Checked with the stores in my area and they don't have them yet.
  • I was told stores get next week. Online only now.
  • I was holding out hope for the 830 but I might have to cave. I'm dying for some extra storage space but I'm going to miss the OIS on photos.
  • Why att not getting the icon?
  • The Icon was discontinued. Hopefully MS announces its successor on Tuesday. If they don't it'll be bedlam on Windows Central.
  • What! How can a high end WP as the icon be discontinued! It only came out months later after announcement and is supposed to be best. What stunt is MS trying to pull? Stupid!
  • The only thing that would make sense is if they pulled it because they're about to announce its successor. If they don't I agree it was a dumb move as the Icon was an excellent device.
  • They're about to announce more cheap phones...
  • MS didn't pull it, Verizon did. You can probably still pick one up at a MS store.
  • If that was the case MS could've just taken it to another carrier. They made the decision to stop making the phone.
  • It would of faired much better on ATT. ATT is like a home for WP. Verizon is iPhone/android country.
  • Yes, you can pick up an icon at a MS store. I was fiddling with one today: Sunday.
  • Called every store in FL no one has heard a thing about this phone or know when they will carry it
  • I walked unto TMO at the millenium mall in Orlando. They didn't have one there either.
  • Ordered mine!
  • I contacted my local T-mobile store today. Not only did they not have it, they had never heard of the HTC M8 for Windows.... And this was a corporate store. What's up with the misleading articlen
  • It still says coming soon when I go to the page to try and buy it. On a different topic, why has this website been so slow lately (as in the past few weeks now)? Across different browsers, networks and devices this website has been so slow to load and buggy when navigating it. Only the Windows Phone app has been consistently fast.
  • Had mine since day one on Verizon and love it. I'd recommend it to any TM user looking for an upgrade.
  • who said it was available, all you can see in tmo website is coming soon, you cannot purchase it and they dont have the phone in stores yet... not even a demo unit for that matter.
  • Its available I just check, its sad to see it at the bottom of the page, but its on the site, http://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phones.html
  • It's not available. Coming soon only.
  • Went to a few stores and none of them have it....
  • I think I am going to hold out and try to get an unlocked L830 from Canada to use on T-Mo.
  • If you go to the actual press release on TMobile's website it says it will be available online for the Holidays. Which means they are not going to carry it in their stores. Posted via the Windows Phone Central App for Android
  • Us only right ?
  • So far US only that I am aware of Posted via the Windows Phone Central App for Android
  • This is so tempting but I'm waiting on things to change as far as carrier availability in 2015 before I come back to Windows Phone. And hopefully the app ecosystem and quality will be a lot better. Please Microsoft bring the 1030(or whatever it will be called) to all major carriers. • Just ordered my m8 at my local T mobile store
  • You seem to be the only person who was able to order it.  T-Mobile has no information on this phone, via any communication method, for me.  I do not understand this.  Is it possible that they had much greater demand than anticipated, then ran out of stock?
  • I will get it but not on line drive one mile to New Hampshire no sales tax save $40.00
  • How can you release something and not have any for sale? What a joke!!!
  • Been waiting for it and it still isn't here, hopefully not much longer.
  • I would lke to see a way to dual boot it with Android but doubtful. Not willing to drop so much on Windows at this point.
  • Any word if/when it will his stores? Went to the location by work and they had no idea it was even released on the website.
  • I'll take two.
  • says backordered!!
  • Where does it say backordered?  I have not seen that.
  • Does anybody knows if there is some Glance-Like app for the M8?? If not, does the M8 has a notification LED??
  • It does have a notification light
  • You can always buy the cool Dot View case...
  • 6 months too late.
  • Well I went into three stores tonight and none of them had it or had any clue what it was.  Of course the second I mentioned windows phone...they gave me the well we can get you one of these other phones on Android or the iPhone...smh
  • Would have bought this if they had chosen to release globally. Now I am happy with my shiny 830 :)
  • The best htc phone
  • There is goes. What's next
  • The phone is showing available on all parts of t-mobile. I for one is getting it.
  • I called a local store in Richmond, VA and they don't have the device.  When I called customer service, they told me that they can't order it for me because they are waiting on the phone to shop from HTC.  He had no update on when that was supposed to happen.  I will pick one up as soon as  I can.
  • What about T-Mobile in countries where users prefere WP over iOS?
  • I'll in a predicament: I like the phone, a lot, but being HTC, and an "old" model, I feel like the cons outweigh the pros of picking this phone up over keeping my 925, such as poor support, the loss of Lumia apps, as well as going to a third party partner. This coming from someone who's first WP was the HTC 8X!
  • NOT AVAILABLE FOR UPGRADE.  that stinks, i assume this is typical, I wonder how long I have to wait until it becomes an option.  I'm still using my HTC windows phone 7
  • I have went to the store, called customer care, tried to buy online.  This phone is apparently not available at T-Mobile.  I have no idea why it is not available for purchase and T-Mobile, also, has no idea.  Does anyone know what is going on with this?
  • Ordered one online on jump. It says it is backordered. No clue when it will be in. So I guess I'll just wait.
  • Has anyone been able to get 1 of these?  Either at a store, or ordering online?  It appeared to be available for a day or so, then 'coming soon'.  Really hoping that this is available on Black Friday.  I want to upgrade my 925 to it, and hopefully get a deal.
  • incorrect title Author its still coming soon
  • New info: I just stopped in a T-Mo store, and the sales guy I spoke to looked it up, and said that it is going to be released on November 19th.  The sales rep said that he can't wait for it to come out.  He currently has a 635, but is anxiously awaiting this.  It is so refreshing to see someone in a store that understands how good our OS is.
