Xbox One owners won't need to pay anything to use the Plex app anymore. The company has lifted its previous Plex Plan subscription requirement, allowing anyone to use the streaming media app with no restrictions.
This is obviously huge news for Plex fans on the Xbox One. The Plex Pass subscription normally costs $5 per month, $40 per year, or $150 for lifetime access. Having a Plex Pass subscription does add a number of features that are unavailable for free users, including cloud sync and mobile sync options.
Ditching this subscription will likely mean that the Plex app will receive a lot more use for owners who want to stream their audio, video and image libraries from their PC to the Xbox One.
