Poll – How satisfied are you with Windows 10 Mobile build 10536?

On Monday, September 14 Microsoft lets Windows Insiders finally get their hands on another build for Windows 10 Mobile. In fact, it was just over 30 days from the previous build calling into some question the descriptor 'Fast Ring'.

Despite some setbacks for the release, build 10536 is shaping up to be quite stable and certainly quicker to launch apps with less lag. We wouldn't call this release final, but we can start to see an ultimate version on the horizon in terms of stability and reliability.

I have been using 10536 on my Lumia 1520 without major issues. The one problem I have seen is Messaging Skype beta is still crash prone on occasion and sometimes there is a delay after I enter my PIN to unlock. Otherwise, I'm digging this build, and I have no real complaints. Having said that, of all my devices, the Lumia 1520 is always handling these releases better than my other phones. I'm currently installing 10536 on my Lumia Icon and Lumia 830 and still need to put those devices through their paces and I may have a change of heart.

What about you? How satisfied are you with this latest release? Does 10536 instill confidence that Microsoft can pull off Windows 10 Mobile this fall or have you lost faith? What other issues are you still having?

  • Underwhelming!  But at least I can install this version on my 640 finally
  • What about the perfomance in lower RAM devices? Anybody?.. (Even though I agree that people should upgrade their 512MB devices already.., considering the fact that almost 50% of WP devices out there run on 512MB RAM , MS should make sure the perfomance is good in those devices as well )..
  • I have a lumia 620 to test on, and I gotta say that build 10536 is quite a bit faster and stable, than the dreadfully slow previous build. It admittedly still quite slow, but I feel it's getting there. As for the poll, then I had hoped for more... interesting things -more than just faster builds... I kinda hope that they have some surprise(s) for the conferences next month or at the phone reveals.
  • I have in on a L635...how many gigs is that?  Working okay. I also have it on my One M8, and it has a big yellow box around the whole screen after waking from sleep.  Super annoying...
  • My HTC One M8 is running the new Build nicely except for two issues 1. Random reboot from an app 2. Double Tap to wake is missed dearly.
  • Same problem with my HTC one..random reboots..plus the picture gallery isn't uploading to some apps
  • Had same problem with random reboots on 8x, factory reset fixed that.
  • I'll do two succesive resets & see if the random reboots are resolved. I'll never purchase another Windows Phone that isn't a Lumia.
  • Yeah, I couldn't deal with that yellow border, no double tap to wake and the dot view case not working. I gave it almost 24hrs and then rolled back to 8.1. Other than those issues I liked 10. From this point on I'm keeping 10 off my M8 until RTM and just use the 1020 for the builds leading up to RTM.
  • I lasted like two hours. The fact that W10M is so bad so close to launch is giving me the same feeling of dread I felt at about this time before W10PC launched.  As it stands, weeks after launch and many "cumulative updates" later, W10PC is still not read for prime time.  Given the current state of affairs in the mobile world, I can say with near certainty that we are about to see history repeat itself.
  • While I agree that Windows 10 Mobile still seems a long way from being ready for release. I have to disagree with your statement about Windows 10 PC. I've installed it on over 10 PCs, laptops and tablets. I've had absoutly no issues. The PCs are not all brand new PCs either. Some have very low specs and Win 10 PC runs just fine. As far as Win 10 Mobile I am running it on a Nokia 920, the first Windows Phone 8 phone and while performance is definatly lagging and some apps are having issues it is definatly faster and more stable than the last build.
  • Hi, Just wanted to know the overall performance in Lumia 920 and what are the known issues you are facing currently with W10 upgrade. I've got a 920 and was looking forward to upgrade, but this is not my standby phone, and once when I did the upgrade in the initial W10 release, I was devastated with the instability and had to roll back to 8.1. Look forward for your feedback on the current stability of W10 on 920 and overall performance. Will help me and other 920 owners take the plunge :)
  • Exact opposite experience on my 640. Last build was awesome, but this one drains battery and gets these 5-10 sec lockups All. The. Time.
  • Have you done the recommended hard reset?
  • Agreed.. I have a 620 and i have been wondering the same thing..
  • Installed 10536 on a Lumia 520.
Couldn't upgrade from 10512 (previous version) and had to recover 8.1 and install that way.
With only 512MB of RAM Win10 does seem slow on 520, but it is still functional and if you can wait the second of so of delay, it's still doing Ok.
Bought the phone cheap and went straight to Win10 and yet to put a SIM in the phone.
So not really in a position to comment on performance compared to Win8.1
  • I had to roll back to 8.1 to upgrade to Build 10536 (Lumia 620, BTW). Had been using Windows 10 for a couple of weeks now so it was interesting to see, how they compare, going back. Even though 8.1 is much more stable, it's the little things that get you - keyboard, settings page, quick access toggles. After a few reminders of 8.1 went on to install 10536. Seems snappier than 10512. Now just have to get everything the way it was (again) :D
  • I had 10536 on my Lumia 635 (512 MB version) for a few hours before deciding to go back to 8.1. It ran fairly well on it despite having just 512 MB of RAM. Performance was a little jerky, especially the camera, but I figured it was just because it was a TP.
  • Running good on L520.  A bit slow but pretty good.
  • Very satisfied..ms has dropped a bomb on our heads with this built..my word, didn't expect so much from a company dedicated to apple and android (being sarcastic as always)
  • Ah....ah...ah
  • It is hard to imagine that 512MB phone owners would be 'very satified'.  You need at least 1GB to run W10M well or even the future ported Android apps.
  • Then MS should retract what they said. Because they told us that all wp8.1 would be eligible for upgrading. And by eligible one would expect that it would run properly on low memory devices. At least at same speed as wp8.1.
  • W10M should be running 'OK' on 512MB phones.  But those have responded with 'very satisfied' are probably mostly mid to high-end phone owners.  Hardware does matter.
  • I tried it on 512 was fine, its just buggy but ran ok! 1gig ram for apps, maybe games but most normal apps run fine.
  • Runs really nice on my 640xl. So far i'm pretty happy.
  • Same for me on my 640XL. Installed this build this morning. The download took an age to complete, but after that it was fine. I had an issue to start with, Photos and a few other apps wouldn't open. but a quick reboot and all was well. Edge is much quicker, as is Mail and Calendar. In fact the whole feel of the OS is faster and smoother. I'm very happy with this build so far.
  • The problem with Windows 10 Mobile is that it feels like we've been waiting forever & the newness has already worn off.
  • Completely agree here
  • Yup!!!!
  • That's exactly what I fear will happen with the 950 phones. Microsoft will announce, and it'll be six months before any US carrier has one, which will be just in time to discontinue the model series. I don't mean to be so negative, but that's about how it's been. A huge reason why WP never took off. Microsoft needs to announce and release within a week, and sell a carrier neutral version direct--cuz, really we all know probably A&T, maybe Verizon, doubtful TMobile, and not-a-chance Sprint.
  • Same what happened to 1st Gen of Surface
  • Yes
  • And for those of us who are not part of the TP it'll be brand spanking new when we upgrade.
  • Yeah lack of sideloading I lost interest. Sure edge can handle flash/html5 hybrid web players but that still needs work
  • Out of topic Please upvote for a recycle bin in windows 10 Mobile Windows-Feedback:?contextid=460&feedbackid=c666a9a6-6feb-4a3d-b574-445aae7b53ca&form=2&src=2
  • full link? love the idea though.
  • So far it's great! I can't see myself going to 8.1.
  • Yeah, it's kind of weird once you start using 10 a lot how 8.1 feels weird. I used to love 8.1 on computers, or rather, it didn't bother me. Now, 8.1 feels so weird on a PC or tablet, I'm like "ewww..." . Same is happening to mobile now for me.
  • Man you hit the nail on the head!!! That's exactly how I feel!!! I'm loving windows 10 all around!
  • I'm getting the same feeling Dan how ever I fell for w10m from the first build
  • Same I've been an insider for both PC and mobile since October. And also because my uncle is a software engineer for Microsoft at Redmond. Also sorry for the typo in my name it's just my high school
  • exactly my thought ! I have been using preview builds on my daily driver for a long time now. There are lot of bugs but it is much more attractive than 8.1
  • Any word on battery life, Daniel? I'm downloading this on my 930 later tonight.
  • Apart from Edge browser instead of the IE touch-version in Windows (Phone) 8.1, I agree. I wish there was an Edge alternative with slide-navigation etc.
  • You could try UC Browser.
  • Did Microsoft finally get the vibration functionality of the Os or its still lacking like vibrate once for incoming calls?
    ----
And oh, please next time when doing a hands on video for a new build, please to the phone under intense use so we can get a glimpse of how the phone would perform on an everyday use. :)
  • Vibration on incoming calls has always worked for me.
  • Multiple rings have always worked for ya? Mine just vibrate once and that's it
  • Please Daniel Help Us How Download Update Smoothly On Any Windows 10 Mobile Because I Have Problem Everytime Upgrading To One W10 Mobile Build To Another W10 Mobile Build It's Frustrating Thing Because I Have To Rollback Everytime Into W8.1 :(
  • Well THAT is sure annoying to read...
  • When you're unsure of which words to capitalize, just capitalize all of them!
  • Seemed to work for him! I may try this at some point :)
  • I just noticed. Wallet is back to app list
  • +1 for wallet, but no word on a mobile payments strategy. This is completely unacceptable. How long has the OS been capable of mobile payments and still. no strategy.
  • I'd rather they have a completed mobile OS before they worry about tackling mobile payments. "Completely unacceptable"...give me a break.
  • Sure, we need a complete OS. But we also need new features, since this will be a new OS. And continuum isn't that new feature, since it will be available on select hardware and not many people will use it. Mobile payments would be a great feature to bring parity versus the competition.
  • Microsoft didn't have NFC-HCE support in Windows 8.1 which severely limited its potential. Post on msdn blogs from early in Windows 10 Mobile said NFC-HCE will be a part of the OS. (Host-Card Emulation) I've reached out to all of the app devs whose apps I use that would benefit from this addition.  All responses, "We have no plans to update our App to Windows 10 at this time"
  • Wallet is there on my phone running 512. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Agreed! After using WM10, I'm only willing to use WP8/8.1 while upgrading a device to WM10. Used my partners Lumia 925 running WP8.1 the other day while mine was charging, and was so frustrated with it. You get really used to how much simpler some of the msot minor tasks are in WM10, like enabling/dissabling data, or using the flashlight.
  • Seriously (no pun intended!!), how does W81 feel 'weird' and what makes W10 more attractive?! I can't think of anything other than transparent tiles. W10 is still missing so much essential functionality (in calendar, mail, double tap to wake, folders in start screen etc etc), it's still so much slower, with still many inconsistencies in the UI.
  • What are you talking about? Folders in start screen and double tap to wake is not missing in W10M. It's not slow on my 830. And both calendar and mail is way better now.
  • On Lumia 520 there's no double tap and no folders. Mail accounts can't be combined, switching accounts requires multiple taps, no more (combined) account-specific notifications, calendar no longer shows all appointments of a week on a single screen. W81 does everything W10 does (except for a few nice-to-have easthetic things) and a lot more, so I'm genuinely wondering how W10 could be better. How are mail and calendar way better in W10, can you be a bit more specific?
  • You're either lying, exaggerating or something is wrong with your phone. I have a 520 as a secondary device and it works fine. All the features u say u don't have, I have and they work fine. (yes I'm using latest build of Win10Mobile)
  • I have double tap to wake on Lumia 520 with build 10536 You just have to enable it in touch settings. I quite like the double tap feature.
  • Would you mind pointing out one reason how calendar and mail are "way better now", because I fail to see any. To me they have lost a lot of functionality, which I found crucial (week view, unified inbox), and gained a lot of changes to interface and design, which I dislike overall.
  • Personally, I like the way 10 looks better. I like having more settings in the notification area. Other than that, I don't see many improvements. As far as the mail app goes, it won't even let me view my main mailbox. If I try to add the account, it says it's already added. So I have to agree with Armin30.
  • All the things you mentioned are there and improved from 8.1, maybe you should consider installing it. Only things missing are some extra camera apps (which I didn't use anyway!)
  • It does. After the update yesterday my phone wouldn't work and kept showing me error. Had to revert back to 8.1 - after a long time using WM10. I just didn't realize till then how different WM10 is and in a good way.
  • Damn rite... I feel the dame way too.
  • Where is the favourite photos section in the photos app? and I liked the option that have allowed people to set your favourite panorama picture in the background of photos app in the Lumia Amber 8. Also music app in WP10 there should be section or playlist that shows recently added music. And I didn't like the fonts on wp10 which are slimmer than the fonts in wp8.1, what you say?
  • One thing I noticed with this build is that the Windows Central app runs slower on this build. I'm running a 1520. Are you experiencing this?
  • I have not yet installed this latest build but windows central on build 10512 lost the "video" link and "download app" links when reading articles. I rolled back to WP 8.1 this morning and I agree with Daniel, WP 8.1 just feels weird. The things I miss in W10M is living images, Here Maps with its collections and more detailed maps (such as showing mall directories, national museum directories and such advanced details), the ability to make albums in photos app, and keeping my contacts as they are without sorting the phone numbers (an example is when there's a contact with two mobile numbers, people app and/or Cortana sort the numbers in ascending order so if you say "call xxx on his/her mobile" then in W10M Cortana might call what used to be mobile 2 on WP8.1 instead if the number starts with a 4 while mobile 2 starts with a 1,2,or 3.
  • Mine barely runs.
  • Yes, noticed this, too.
  • Ditto on the slowness of WinCentral app on 1520. You click an article and wait what feels like 30sec before it actually opens.
  • Stokesperc1, yea me too. Overall, on my 1520, this build is brisk. Responsive. But ironically, Windows Central App has a lengthy lag for opening articles and clicking back.
  • I wish they implement the charm bar. There is no way to do Play to from EDGE in windows 10
  • If the history hub and contact level notifications returned it would be a good phone OS. I found out how much I missed those features when I I had to go back to 8.1.  New people app is garbage. I really can't understand the changes that were made there and why.  There are things I miss from WM10 but the primary purpose of a smartphone should first be in communicating with people.  I wish we could put the old People app back or at least add back what was taken out.
  • Yeah I had to use my dad's 8.1 laptop today and it was not enjoyable :/
    We're spoiled now!
  • Definitely better than windows 8.1.  No doubt about it.  Although no uniformity exists within a lot of the apps.   Go create a group in people app for example.  When you enter the group you have a "pin" and an "edit" icon.  Now, you have an ellipses and when you hit the ellipses you have a menu pop up with Delete.  Ok, so seriously they couldn't just add a trash icon?  This makes no sense and just looks unprofessional.   But the start screen is my favourite part of windows and man windows 10 is just superior.  The tiles are closer giving it a more clean and crisp look.  The ability to have the background picture and control transparency.  It is just 100% better.   This new build does lower the over heating issue for my lumia 830.  Typically when I played candy crush the phone got pretty hot, now it's just a bit warmer.  The load times are definitely much faster.     Though the install was less than stellar.  Was missing my messaging app and couldn't do 2 step verification for a lot of apps.  I had to download the skype beta one.  I was getting loading issues and extreme slowness until I did a factory reset.  This is expected on the preview builds though.  Hope it's not the case for production.  Some apps were showing in my app list but when i clicked them it went to store for update, update failed.  I couldn't uninstall the apps though.  Once again a factory reset fixed it.  But i did have to redownload quite a lot of apps.  I had to follow a secret link to disable glance screen.  And of course the long upgrade process is quite bad, but again it's not a production build.   Overall once everything is settled it runs quite well and i'm glad they are focusing on performance and leaving features for last.  The feature set that already exists is beyond 8.1 anyways.  Anything else is likely going to be done via app updates.   I'm satisfied when comparing to last build, but overall I would say i'm underwhelmed with what I expect in the final.  And again they may not even provide us with that version as they need to show something off at their NYC event.
  • Yeah, my girlfriend's phone runs on 8.1, and I've been on 10 for some time now. Start menu alone feels a bit off already
  • I rolled back to 8.1 3 times b ecause i wanted to wait for the official release but, it is unavoidable.I am now losing sleep waiting for the new release to dl and install
  • I agree on one point, 8.1 on PC feels complete wrong now that I've been using 10...but when I rolled my One back to WP8.1 after using 10 for a couple months, it felt like I got my phone back. Using 10 on my 920 is like "ewwww...missing basic features!"
  • That's what I want to know. Thanks a lot. I'm going to dig the Windows 10 on my Lumia 1520.
  • Taking too much time to download 26% after 13hrs
  • Daniel, I have asked this before, but have never had anyone definitively tell me.  Can I download the windows insider app onto my Samsung ATIV S Neo, and install the latest build, even though it is not yet approved?  Thanks!
  • This is going in the right direction.. For sure way smoother than 512 on my Icon.. Daily D it is for me..
  • There's a lag when we pressed the back key.. But overall it's pretty good
  • I'm not getting that, but when I wake my phone I see the tiles for a split second before the lock screen appears. It's driving me a bit nuts.
  • Had that, and also the delay for the time to appear.
  • Is otg feature available in this build for lumia 640?
  • No, not yet . But it will be included in  final version or last version before final ( if arrive )
  • Meh, it's okay but underwhelming ! - VOTE  Expecting some more changes, but good thing is - Stable and Photos App now somehow mature  and good
  • Biggest flaw in photos app i saw is....when a photo comes through whatsapp.. We have to open photos app first to get it updated then we can forward that photo to another person in whatsapp.
  • Why not long press on the message and choose forward?
  • What about screenshots?
  • Should I install in 830? Daily use. Batao bhai.
  • Yes you certainly can
  • Using it on my 925 ever since first tech preview, this one seems better for daily use, so far.
  • Are you using a 925 on T-Mobile, and if so, is wi-fi calling working with this version of WM10?
  • decided to finally install the technical preview on my lumia 925 after months of debating it. I did a regular install then when that finished up I went ahead and reset my phone whipping everything. When I went through that I even got a nice little notification on start up saying "Wifi Calling is now available - check app for update and ready to go" so yes, its working. Not sure if its cuz I did a reset or cause this build finally plays nice with Tmobiles Wifi Calling. Overall very stable build. Just casual loading when going in and out of apps. But within apps everything works fine.
  • Thanks for the response...much appreciated.  I've been holding off on W10M on my 925 because I must have wi-fi calling.  I'm going to give it a look.
  • My photos app crashes on start up, even after hard reset.
  • As satisfied as someone who is unable to update his phone which is stuck forever at 2% :)
  • Mine took forever to download, so I've spent literally all day up to now working on updates in some form. Though I'm using an inplace from a 8.1>some 10 build now, rather than a fresh 10 and up to this build
  • What did you do?
  • I came here just to write the same comment! Although mine is stuck on 3%.
I left my phone overnight to download, woke up with nothing.
Tried soft reset multiple times, tried to look this up, tried to free up some more space, to even cancel the download process (which is now draining battery), no luck at all!
I guess I'll have to hard reset this fucking phone once more! Damn it!
  • Guess the servers can't upload fast enough, happening to me too...
  • This is Microsoft's way of testing your loyalty.
  • Well for me first time it downloaded then crashed while preparing for install at 6 %.. Now it's downloading again but stuck at 0 % for the last five hours.. I wish they update and improve their update process.. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • I left mine downloading last night and it. sat on 0%. Damn I will have to hard reset.
  • glad I'm not the only one :3
  • Spent all day, multiple soft reset and frustrations, but finally i succeeded. 640xl.
Do I need to hard reset or just go? I upgraded from 10512.
  • Things are much better now. Lots of performance improvements, but still has a long way to go. Compared to 10512, this build is miles ahead.
  • "smoothened"..
  • Thanks
  • "smothered".. like gravy.
  • Seems faster.
  • Forgot to add one thing: The Windows Central app for Windows 10 Mobile takes a long time to load. It gets stuck on the splash screen for a long time. This started happening after 10536 build got installed.
  • Me too! And when it managed to open and u try to open an article, the article disappears.
  • Does "Hey Cortana" work? Can't seem to get it to work :(
  • It doesn't on any of the w10 builds. Wait for rtm
  • I was just going to ask about this too - thanks! I miss my text messages being read to me.
  • I can't install the build. It downloads for an hour and during installation, it just fails. Tried it twice and wasted four hours trying to update my phone. Anybody else facing an issue updating?
  • I woke up to mine saying it failed, but it worked again during the day...not that helpful, but I didn't do anything other than reboot inbetween.
  • Mine isn't even failing to download. It was just stuck on 3%, left it all night at this state, then when I woke up I soft-reset the device, now it's stuck on 0%, and it's not even failing!
  • I've had this on past updates. I didn't have the Insider unlock App installed.
  • Had similar problems with one of my test lumias. Was able to update only after first rolling back to 8.1.
  • It is much faster and much smoother on my Lumia 635 than the previous build was. This build is actually very usable so far. Definitely can see them pull this timeline off...
  • Is there loading or resuming screens in this build on Lumia 635
  • If you're having problems with this build-- especially if you're coming up from a previous W10 build-- then I strongly urge you to wipe/reset your device using Settings > System > About... Reset your phone.   Taking it back to square one, go through setup and do NOT opt to restore from backup. Take the clean install approach here, and I'd say there's extremely high odds your opinion will change for the better.
  • So do you get the RESUMING...... thing that is so annoying?
  • Been doing this with every build since the beginning... On my daily driver havnt had any show stopper problems
  • No resuming?
  • I've actually only had the resuming issue once then I did a full reset and it works fine
  • Oh ok cool. Guess I'll have to reset then.
  • Restoring from backup just puts all of your apps and screen orientation back in place. It saves time and doesn't cause problems. I agree 100% about the reset though.
  • Battery life is still quite bad on the Lumia ICON...even when upgrading and resetting fresh with no backup restore. I hope this improves...
  • Battery life usually gets better after the first day or so... lots of stuff going on in the background even when doing a full reset usually.
  • OK...will wait a little longer..battery life didn't get better for me on the last two builds... :(
  • IMO the Icon has horrible battery life anyways. Throw an unoptimized beta OS on there and things are only going to be worse.
  • Apps like Windows Central, 6tag and Twitter takes time to load. And why my 1520 has 16 shorcuts in action center instead of 20? Because it's ugly when I see 1 shortcut on top.
  • This^ so true
  • Don't quote me but I think theirs a way to add your own shortcuts
  • There's no other way.
  • Yes....my w.central app also takes time to load.
  • I don't know if this is related but man the Windows Central app on this build is so slow, literally takes 15 to 20 seconds to load and when I click a link it is painfully slow.
  • Yes you are 100% right, it's ridiculously slow, it wasn't like that before the update.. Just saying.
  • i can confurm this build isn't nice for the wcentral app!
  • So annoying....the app that was made to update us about new builds...is unaware of this bug.
  • Slower on my 1520 as well. Not sure if I want to perform the reset as reinstalling apps and home screen management will be tedious.
  • Yes, will Windows Central ever update there app?
  • And my paid version of the app changed to ads version after the upgrade. Why??
  • Lumia 1320 here. Should I install this build? I heard that once I install it, I won't be able to get future builds unless I revert back to Windows Phone 8.1..
  • That bug is fixed, u can install it
  • Go for it. I also hv 1320....as a daily driver. Vry minor lags. Bt good build.
  • It's finally my daily driver
  • Mine too!
  • Overall, seems much smoother (app splash screens even made a triumphant return)...but I've still managed to get plagued with the "loading/resuming" screen. The start screen recoops much faster than on 10512, but is still a nuisance.
  • Very true. I have the same issue. Did you reset your phone before the upgrade? Only mistake I would have made is that I factory reset, then did the first update (but I loaded my backup) before going to the latest build. I wonder if I should factory reset again, and then not load any backups till I have the latest build and then sync my accounts?
  • It's ok, I was expecting a little more smoothness' but I'm sure it will come.. Also I'm glad the loading us gone, but now the resuming stands out even more now lol. RESUMING....
  • Certainly its better than previous build, but there are still some annoying bugs, like I cant change accent color. Loading and resuming screens are still there, even for a simple app like calculator, Phone, messaging apps...
  • With the accent color: You should just try and mess a little with it. I couldn't get it to change either, but after a few tries it finally took.
  • Not crazy about how you worded responses but I chose 2. Maps is alot better, and the wholeos is a little faster. But edge still shoots blanks some times when opening new tabs.
  • Please Daniel Help Us How Download Update Smoothly On Any Windows 10 Mobile Because I Have Problem Everytime Upgrading To One W10 Mobile Build To Another W10 Mobile Build It's Frustrating Thing Because I Have To Rollback Everytime Into W8.1..:(
  • Best solution - MS shold bring update to recovery tool for clean install Windows 10 build #JustSaying
  • Yaa clean install through windows recovery tool is great option
  • Use punctuation. Also why is every word capitalized??
  • About what I expect from a beta OS, not ready for daily use... But you can begin to see the end game is coming in the next few months.
  • Next few months? It's meant to be ready by next month!
  • Hate it, tried a million times but I it refuses to install on my Lumia 520. It downloads ok, prepares for installation too, but it always ends with error 0x800705b4. After that it claims the phone is up-to-date, a reboot is required to detect the updates again. Crap! Anyone with a solution? Soft reset doesn't work, and I've freed as much space as possible on both phone and SD.
  • Same here :/
  • Same here on a 720. Tweeted Aul about it.
  • I've just filled this problem in feedback app under Windows Update category... please upvote it.
  • Same problem :(
  • I had the exact same problem in my 1520 and what I had to do was to revert to WP 8.1 with the recovery tool and then sign up to fast ring again, then I was able to install the 10536 directly.
  • Make sure the Insider App is installed and you Fast Ring selected. I couldn't install a number of past builds and this was always the problem, it got uninstalled.
  • L520 and got 0x800705b4 at 6% "Preparing to install". Tried a reset with build 10512 and that didn't help either. I just revereted back to Win8.1 and then successfully installed 10536.
  • Same here ona 620. Tried maybe 4 times. Then thought, it might be because I didn't have much storage left, deleted some apps, had 1,8 GB free, still error, reset the pgone, had almost 4 GB free, still got an error. Now I'm rolling back to 8.1 and trying that way. Fingers crossed... :)
  • I can't change lockscreen status icons. When I add apps to show their status icons the setting is not saved. Does anyone know a fix? Overall the experience is faster and less buggy, but not there yet! And I wish they would improve the cursor controller in the keyboard. It has an annoying delay and then speeds up too fast. It's impossible to use. The old way of moving the cursor is faster. But it could be so nice if they tweaked it to perform better.
  • my lumia 930 is operating at 40 degrees at least.... and when it is hot it does not charge, anyone having the same issue.
  •   My 930 was running hot and draining the battery.  I turned off NFC, set "choose app to show detailed status" on the lock screen to none as well as removed apps from the "choose apps to show quick status." It's been doing much better for the past couple of hours.
  • Preparing for updates,:|
  • Draining battery like a beast...
  • It has done this to me with all builds on my Lumia ICON yet I can't let myself go back to 8.1... :(
  • On my 640, 10512 is better, but this new one is giving so much trouble...
  • Speaking in HTC 8X users name, NOT SATISFIED AT ALL! On Microsoft's fault it turned many devices into reboot machines. Luckily I haven't installed it on my phone.
  • The HTC 8X problem is a nasty one.  I hope Microsoft has a way to fix all the 8Xs that are dead now and more to come beteen now and the 18th.
  • I'm really-really angry at Microsoft, but I'm much angrier at HTC for their careless attitude and not providing the necessary recovery image(s) to Microsoft. And it's pretty shameful that HTC points to Microsoft, Microsoft points to HTC and blame each other. I - as a customer of both companies - don't care whose fault was this... Now my 8X is a piece of useless brick. I hope they'll solve this issue fast, because I need my phone to work as soon as possible!
  • I didn't see the 8x on the last approved device list for WM10, which may explain in part the problems people are having.
  • I went ahead and installed on my 640. Finally, quiet hours is no longer continuously flashing. I had the previous version but this latest update is very stable. Faster between apps. No lag that I've found so far. No lock ups. Battery time has improved not draining as quick. I'm sure the flashing quiet hours may have contributed on the earlier version. At this point, I will stay with Win 10. No turning back now...
  • Did you hard reset your phone before/after the update?
  • still stuck on 0%
  • Is notification light now turn on in this build on Lumia 730
  • Lumia 730 HAS a notification light?
    Whaaaaa? 0.o?
  • Well until software updates can deliver new hardware into a phone that it never had before, like a notification light, that notification light of yours is unlikely to turn on in your 730.
  • I got more issues with this build. When rebooting my 1520 startscreen starts loading and it doesn't find simcard. I have 3 times today changed it after rebooting. So for me this build is crap so far, perhaps I have to convert back to 8.1 for first time since build 10166. Does other have this issue too or am I the only one?
  • I'm having the same issues on my 1520, plus it runs the phone blazing hot. I had to reinstall already today hopefully won't again. I was actually much happier with the last build...but it works I can call, email, and text so I'm good.
  • This windows central app is so terrible.. Please update this for windows 10...
  • For Windows 10 or Windows 10 Mobile?
  • It's very sluggish on W10M. Would definitely love to get a Windows Central app made for W10M.
  • I wish I had a burner to test this stuff out on. I briefly had preview on my 1020 but it was nearly impossible to use for basic functions. So, I'm watching closely from the sidelines.
  • This build is great! BUT my Windows Central app is now slow to open. Lol. Still has a ways to go to match performance on wp8.1. I'm using a Nokia Icon.
  • snappier than before, but not stable. There are somany bugs still need fix.
  • Once it installs I'll let you know. It installed the first two, now its stuck on 0% for the last one. Took a long time to get the first update to work
  • My Lumia 830 Still won't automatically upload pictures..I have been sending feedback with every build..but not working yet..have all updates to Onedrive, camera ect.and it is turned on in the OneDrive settings..any one else?
  • Groove music pass still not working...
  • Got update notification on my Sammy S. But afraid even to download...
  • Don't even think about it! It may brick your phone and you can't revert to 8.1 cuz WPRT doesn't support Samsung nor HTC images.
  • The bad news is that it will eventually automaticly install on the 18th and it looks like the only way to stop it is to hard reset your phone and get out of the Insider program.
  • I attempted the update on my samsung , it started to download then ended with failed to install update. i didnt attempt again and the phone is fine.
  • You are missing and option: - Still trapped under update nightmare

Again Downloading for third time ................................................................................. ....................................................................still 0% .................................................................0%................................
  • Close enough to be smooth build.
  • underwhelming due to the fact that the "loading...." bug is still present on my 1520, i dont see much better stability either (yes i hard resetted), but it is a small improvement
  • Wow I haven't seen the loading bug yet on my 1520, just the resuming bug that I hate.
  • it happened when i put a picture background to 'Full screen picture' but does it on occassion now that i turned it to tile picture
  • Oh ok I'll try that and see if mines do the same.
  • Does anyone know if call and SMS blocking I working?
  • *is
  • It is working.
  • I can,t seem download it. Tried three times. Maybe I have not enough storage space. I got lumia 520. What do need to do it. I am on build 512.
  • Same here on a 720. I've just reported it in feedback app... please upvote it if you find it... I guess you can look for 0x800705b4
  • Check to make sure you still have the Insider App installed and you are still enrolled in the fast ring.
  • Have you tried rolling back to 8.1 first and then update directly to the new build?
  • I still cannot use Skype Video Preview on my 1520, crashes before it would even start.
  • It keeps erroring out and starting over.:(
  • Same problem here. Haven't had this issue wit any other update
  • can anybody at all set custom ringtones or sms tones ???
  • That seems to work ok.  I downloaded Nokia Tones. Its free and plenty of good ringtones.
  • My 1520 was stuck searching for update, so i hard reset device (w/out) formatting SD card to then search again after rebuild.   Ended up corrupting my SD card...     I was able to update successfully to the latest beta OS, however my SD is unable to be formatted / editted.   All the files that were on there are still there, however; I cannot write (Apps, docs, etc..) to the card.   The OS itself is running better, still quite a few app crashes (store, pictures, settings, etc..)   Though, I still dont like that each App has its own method of menu whether it be the Hamburger, pivot, or Taskbar like menu: ...   - other than that I feel that MS really needs to take the Apple approach by creating their own device (Surface phone) and then fine tuning all the Universal apps to run on the phone with the best experience possible.   They really need a Superior foundation to base everything on and build from there.
  • Notifications on my 640 still comes in late. But overall is decent. Just wish it was a lil more feature packed. And still hate the outlook calendar and mail app. The UI on Android looks much better Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Windows 10 build 0004 is ok but i still cant use hey cortana on this build and i have a 930 and i cand use camera with 3th party aps like whatsapp. Does anyone else have this problem/bug too?
  • The start screen loading problem is still so big that I strongly think of giving up my Lumia 1520 until a fix has been made. I am quite pleased with most of the rest.
  • do you have 'full screen picture' selected? that was the main cause of loading on my 1520 but it still comes here and there
  • Respect due to the two summer interns who have been the Windows 10 mobile team at MSFT.
  • Well oh got it on my 1020, but it feels slow, it was faster before I install it
  • So, my messaging app isn't showing up on this build, which means I can't send or receive texts. I have tried looking for it in the Store but I can't find it :/ Is anybody else having the same issue? Any suggestions? If not, I will go back to 8.1 for a bit :P I know this isn't a support forum, but I appreciate any advice :)
  • Look for the Messaging Skype Preview app in store, i noticed the Messaging app was missing also after a hard reset.
  • Bmer the app - you can't find in the store by searching, I had this issue....
DeftPon3 - download a QR app from the W10 Mobile store, on a PC, go so WC site, find the article about the updated stability of the Messaging Skype Beta app and scan the QR code @ the end of the story. Only way I was able to get msg on my 1520 and I tried everything.
  • Same with me. Try to download "Messaging Skype Beta" on the store..
  • Paste following string in Edge and install.
    ms-windows-store:pdp?pfn=Microsoft.Messaging_8wekyb3d8bbwe
  • You are all so awesome! Thank you so much for the recommendations! I have it installed and working properly again. I hope this comment thread can help other people with the same issue :P
  • dp
  • trying to update whole day, still stuck at 0% in my Lumia640XL
  • On my Lumia 925 it doesn't seem to be significantly faster. Battery life didn't get any better and it also becomes really hot,  when for example browsing the net (WiFi), in just 20 minutes
  • Has anyone succeeded in upgrading to 10536 on 1020?
  • It is a bit of a mixed bag, really. On my 1520, I couldn't be happier performance wise. I have been using the last two builds as daily drivers and I have to say, this latest build really runs very well. Didn't even hard reset.
On my 635, the story is quite different. It started to upgrade, then - for what reason ever - started to download the already running version 10166 and is now stuck in a restart/sad face loop. Not too concerned though, since it is a test device and I can and will just reset it via the recovery tool to give it another shot. Just weird to see such massive differences in the upgrade experience between the two, starting out with identical OS version to upgrade.
  • When it works, it's definitely more fast and smooth on my 1520. But I've encountered a strange bug where going back on the stack will show a "Resuming..." screen and then my Back/Start/Search buttons become unresponsive until I turn off the screen. Also--I'm ashamed to admit this--my side-loaded Astoria apps no longer work on this build. It's been confirmed as a known issue pending a new release of the wconnect tool to reinstall those apps. Until then, I'm stuck again with the infamous "app gap" for my banking and grocery store coupon apps.
  • Has anyone successfully upgraded to 10536 on a 1020?
  • I was able to get it to work on my 1020, but at first after the install I got the lock screen.  When I would unlock it would have at lauching for a LONG LONG time.  After several minutes I was able to swipe from the top and get to settings of which I then did a device reset and everything worked. I do find it annoying that I can not install xbox 360 smartglass it tells me I need a better functioning device. (there are not many better).  The xbox one smartglass app is fine.
  • Yes, I am currently running 10536.1004 on my Lumia 1020.
  • and  how  is it? , on my lumia feels  slowest than before!
  • So far I've been pretty happy with the builds.  I'm finding less and less to put on the Windows Feedback list though.
  • Cortana for Spain has disappeared from my phone. I take it it's because I can't download the voice language, as Gabe Aul said. Or is Cortana available for other regions other than USA in W10M?
  • The build itself is good. The method these idiots chose to deliver was bad. Wait another day, and do it right. Instead of jury rigging it to get it out. I'm betting 60-70% had issues. And about 20-30% still do.
  • Well the "idiots" asked (had a poll) about getting this out and it was a landslide that people didn't want to wait. So the "idiots" decided to push this out to the masses because they wanted it so fast. The "idiots" could have waited, but they where trying to satisify the majority. Had the "idiots" waited to get this right, the masses would have been complaining about that. Guess the "idiots" can't do anything right, huh?
  • Has anyone seen there is a home screen refresh/resize once you close open applications from the task switcher? I am using Lumia 930 with build 10536. To be more clear, once you close the last open application and return to the home page, the home screen shows up, for a split second the home page is displayed is not in full focus, then the page resizes and gets into focus. I have seen it only after updating it to 10536
  • Yep, I am seeing this too. Reported in feedback app
  • Someone has installed on Lumia 820?
  • Getting error 0x800705b4 when preparing to install
  • Early thoughts now that its loaded and i've had a bit of time to mess with it.  Seems faster: no, literally, seems faster on my aging 920, back to 8.1 speeds.  MS account not signed in for odds spots, onedrive keeps crashing after X amount of time and prompts for signon. Skype I cancelled out and picked my ms account and it works. Still had to initially fix my start menu, but, hopefully it stays fixed. Time will tell (usually less than a day) quite frankly, so long as my start menu doesnt ever revert back to the perpetual loading until I take actions to correct it, i'm fucking estatic.    update: well fuck, so much for that start menu issue.
  • Everything is still kinda sluggish on my 928. I went from 8.1 to 10536. I wish GIFs worked in the messaging client without haying to tap them and view them in the Photos app. Battery life drains pretty quickly, too.
  • GIFs work in the photos app?
  • Photo viewer/photo app. When sent through messaging, selecting the GIF will open the Photos app to play the GIF.
  • I'd say I'm undecided. Took most of the day to get it fully updated to the latest build, and with a factory reset it's still not finished downloading and installing all the apps out of a backup
  • There are changes in setting also. For start background option now there is selectable sample pictures folder. And tile picture and background option has come outside from the inner menu
  • Daniel. How's battery life looking on your 1520? Close to 8.1, which would have been stellar...
  • No. Not close to 8.1 @all for me.
  • Dan, is it good enough for a daily driver?
  • My name's Dan.  And I say yes.  I also want to find whoever invented the term "Daily Driver" and cut them.
  • Phone has restarted a couple of times from PIN screen but other from that very stable. The only app that is really slow is the Windows Central app!!
  • You guys have any problems with messaging? I can't even see my messaging app it's not installed in the system :(
  • I tried 99 things to get messaging back as I couldn't even find It or the Skype beta in the store.
  • after i updated, i hard reset the phone and lost my messaging app, i had to install the new unified preview of the sms app so i can use sms... and load times are still bad for me atleast, as i said i did a hard reset after update...so yeah
  • Aside from the FIASCO I had with MESSAGING alls well and the lock screen delay bug is all but gone! They really should tell people the messaging app may be removed in the known issues and provide a better way to find the app in the store of that's gonna be the norm.
  • I'm using it at work as a daily driver for months and I rely heavily on it, so that should give you an idea of my comfort level. The only remaining issues is not being able to add music. I saw the thread MS started so they're aware and working on it. I'm confident that'll be corrected and once that's done I wouldnt mind it going rtm to be honest. All that's left is a Windows Central Talkman giveaway!
  • Don't be too confident when it comes to Microsoft and fixing and music. Those three things cant be in the same sentence
  • Unable to download to Lumia 930, stuck at 0% for hours.
  • I'm underwhilmed but for two reasons. 1. I think I may have gotten use to Android with Widgets and multiple home screens. Windows Mobile doesn't seem to have any big UI features that make my everyday mobile use any different or better now that I've had a taste of Android. 2. I'm running this on a Lumia 1020 which seems so slow and old compared to my Android phone. When you lie it next to my S6 Edge or OnePlus it seems big, clunky and slow. This makes me sad :( I'm really hoping my love for Windows Phone will return with the release of new hardware.
  • Well I dont have w 10 mobile . But kinda satisfied Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Curious.. With flagships potentially about a month or so away from release this means that's exactly the time MS needs to finalize Windows 10 for phones. Is this enough time to not only polish the OS but added whatever touches or features are needed? I haven't used Win10 on a phone yet (I prefer to save my experience for the final product) so I'm not sure how complete or incomplete it feels to everyone.
  • Well, Windows is a service now.. They will release whatever build they feel stable and add features and improvements later on,just like Windows 10.. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Installed it on both my M8 and 640 and definitly can see a performance bump on the M8 when it comes to loading apps, which is interesting to see since I didn't see any difference between the two devices on older builds. Not saying that the 640 is slow or anything, just notice the M8 is a lot faster (which is good). Too bad about Boomsound not being changeable and no tap to wake.
  • Δε μπορω να κανω την αναβαθμιση στο nokia 920 γιατι;
  • Pretty fine build. Need improvements on app launching and resuming. Application is working slow too. Overall good impression.
  • Hey I'm running 10536 on a t-mobile lumia 635 and it's working great! Even on a somewhat low-end specced phone such as this, start-up is quick, opening apps now has the app splash screen instead of blacking out like previous builds, the time on the lock screen loads miliseconds after I press the power button (not immediately when the screen turns on, but much better than before), and overall I say this is a great improvement. I didn't do a hard reset to erase everything then re-install it, so even better for me. One thing I need to add that is a general problem (this also happens on my at&t lumia 920 which I also updated) is that the main categories in the settings menu is blue instead of my accent color (yellow). Is this happening to anyone else?
  • Turn on and off profile sync and wait couple hours. I had the same issue
  • Cant seem to upgrade to this version from the last windows 10 mobile build. keeps erroring out. I can probably do it if I go back to 8.1 But once I go back to 8.1, I'll prob just stay there. Truly miss that stability. My testing days are over
  • my battery is draining quick. Still drains if I use with USB pluged.
  • No issues on 1520 so far .Build is snappy ,still testing battery life
  • How bout search option in text messages? Guess we have to wait for another build.
  • Daniel.i have a 1520 also. In this build are you still having issues with the backlight when making phone calls. It was horrible on 10512. It's "better" on 10536 but still gets stuck. Maybe its my phone
  • Are you guys having problems selecting more them 10 photos/videos to delete in the Photos app?
  • I have a Lumia 735 and for this build I did a hard reset on my phone (so there wouldn't be major problems, once this update is composed by 3 updates), but still i think this version is worst, the phone has more bugs in the daily using and it isn't possible to access some settings as for example the lockscreen settings, but it has also some improvements  as the fact of when waking up the phone, hour and date shows instantly wich is very good (especially when I'm at work :D ) and I'm not sure but i think the graphics are a little better than they were in previous builds . I'll probably make another hard reset and see if these bugs go way, maybe something had gone wrong when updating, if it doesn't get better i'll move into slow ring.
  • Upgrade took forever (Lumia 920, unlocked developer phone).  Mobile hotspot would not work until I reset the phone and reinstalled all applications.  Getting all my accounts set up right took forever.  Twitter wont install, sitting at "restoring user data" in the store.  Some things still seem a little slow, i've had a few crashes.  Had a hell of a time trying to find the download link for "messaging skype preview" since there was no messaging app installed, couldnt send or receive text messages without it.  However, I will say that the email sync setting "as items arrive" works much better now.  I actually get notified when I get a work email (older builds would never sync right).
  • The Start Screen on my Icon seems to lag.  Trying to add/arrange tiles and when pinning to the Start Screen they don't show up for a while.  When scrolling to the bottom of the screen, the last row or two don't show up for a couple seconds.  Same when scrolling to the top. Several of the tiles seem to lose their ability to share information/pictures (not live?) such as Weather Channel, MSN Weather/News/Sports, At Bat (NY Yankees tile is pinned). The Icon kept overheating while installing Win10.  Kept putting it in the freezer because this has been a constant when putting Win10 Previews on it.  When restoring Win8.1 from Recovery Tool, it restores ok without the heat issues.  When it's too hot, it just goes into a boot cycle if I want to power cycle the device.  It won't boot until it cools down. Items in the Store for the Icon don't want to update.  They aren't important ones, but VoiceMail (Verizon) and Transfer My Data sit there perpetually.  I try to X them away and they reappear. I prefer having my back button close apps, but this weird thing of having to hold it down to close something may be what we have to live with. I have an LG bluetooth headset (HBS900) that finally works great for waking up the phone when you hit the call button so I can tell Cortana to make calls or whatever.  However, the music button doesn't wake up Groove to start playing music.  I have to go into Groove and start the play before I have the functions of the music side of the headset. MultiShare developers need to get on the ball, that's for sure. After a few reboots, the phone seems to operate mostly ok, but there are still these issues that make this definitely a long way from ready.  I love the look and most of the design of Win10, but I'd sure like it to work faster with a Start Screen that responds when I want it to and displays the information I require. Mostly good, but a long way to go.
  • I haven't been able to install it just yet, kept getting stuck on 6% during preparation of the installment and getting a 0x800705b4 error. Tried 10 times, now going back to 8.1 to once more try to get 10536 working on my L920.
  • HAS ANYONE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED IT ON A 520? Sorry about yelling but I didn't want anyone to think that I was joking.
  • For those that need the text messaging app, open this link ON YOUR PHONE: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/messaging-skype-beta/9wzdncrdtbtq
  • Thats very nice of you
  • When they will release windows10 officially ?
  • I think folks need to realize that any phone with less than a Snapdragon 800 most likely won't run worth a rip. This build on my M8 runs really damn well, not much lag, apps open just fine. But I do notice about a 10% (give or take) drain on my battery compared to 8.1   I'm hopeful that MS can remedy that issue at the very least. Otherwise for me, this build is pretty great.
  • Downloaded today to my Icon..for some reason...I have had to soft reset 4 times so far.. Screen has a mind of it's own..just going from one screen to another..Cortana, email, home screen, etc. I downloaded over last preview (which did not do that) and then did a phone reset for a fresh install..hopefully I am not the majority..but just a small sample...Yikes..
  • Anyone running this build on a 512 RAM Device? How is the performance?
  • NO SMS APPS
  • I noticed this too
  • I nearly trashed my Lumia 640XL trying to update this...I wound up getting the "sad face screen" trying to get 10536.0000 to 10536.0004.  I wound up using Nokia recovery software to go back to 8.1 and updating from there.  I lost all of my customizations, but the phone is running fine for me now.  I think it's really close to being ready for release. If you're having problems with the general feel of the update, I think doing a clean install (as opposed to upgrading and keeping all your programs and settings) is the way to go...
  • I keep getting this yellow border around the edge of my screen and it stays until I soft reset only to come back 10 minutes later. I'll try and see if a hard reset fixes it. Don't want to have to go back to 8.1
  • Installed on my 930 overnight, so haven't had that much time t play with it yet.  Will say it seems to load much faster.
  • what about battery consumption? Windows 10 is killing my good old 925!
  • NO SMS APP!!
  • Running really good on my Lumia 830. Much better performance overall. I can finally use the small tiles without it crashing too! Now if I could just get SMS message search back....
  • So good that I just ordered a S6..bye.
  • My Copy+Paste doesn't seem to really function well between apps.  For example, say you copy a URL from Edge and go into Outlook and create a new message.  The "paste" icon is greyed out.

  • Has anyone successfully upgraded a 1020 to 10536?
  • Updating a windows mobile is a horrible experience the cog wheels go on on ....then the migrating data (it will be worth the wait and stuff) ...
I am not into all the tech stuff but android updates way faster like in 5min it can be updated ( Miui weekly Updates) but windows :( ...  (just not 10536 ,even in windows 8 )
  • I have two days trying to update but it's stuck at 0%. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Am also having the same issue. Cant figure out what's happening. Am using lumia 920
  • For me, this 10536 is way much better than 10512.  The only major thing for me are the Outlook Mail Notifications...sound, banner, etc. They don't work...unless I am missing something.  Even the number of new items on the inbox tile is sometimes wrong.
  • This will be my shortest trip. It is horrendous on my 920. Battery drained fully in 5 hours of almost no use. Done hard and soft resets, still bad. Windows Central app is not playing nice for me either. Red hot too.
  • Am using lumia 920. Up till now I cant install the latest build. The is stuck on 0% for over 24hrs and it's not moving
  • I still get absolutely nothing in the photos app.  No collections no albums no nothing. (And definitely no folders).  Anyone else on Lumia 1020 seeing this?
  • i do,    but  make  sure you are  signed  in  cause  i see everything, however  you´ll need to update  the app at  the store.
  • Are the older non-Denim phones no longer getting updates? I haven't seen any on my old W10 tester Lumia...
  • It's just okay. After one day of installing had resetting twice I could not install my native language keyboard. Having attention required issue . Though hard reset and reenrollment in insider prog worked before this time no luck. Poor battery and takes time to load app especially wc. switched back to WP 8.1. I don't understand why it takes forever to hard reset while hard reset is necessary condition to work a device better ! App switching or opening is good ! Happy with some and unhappy with some, so mixed feeling. Each build means a day of spoiled time so far. Still love WP, may be love has no logic!
  • Can the camera again be started even when the Phone is locked, by pressing the camera button ? I'm on Lumia 930 and until now this didn't work in WM10, why i'm back to 8.1
  • This can be toggled from the settings
  • Yes i had that enabled but when pressing camera button when phone locked and screen off, it did start the camera app but without activating the screen so pictures were taken blindly. Sometimes screen woul activate but the displayed image was only taking a small square an rotation was not recognized. Unusable.
  • Works better than any other builds, but I still have the install/update issue on apps. Can't update or uninstall certain ones. Very frustrating.
  • I can't vote because one answer would be too forgiving but the next would have been too damning. I like the OS a lot, but I can't understand why some recent changes appear to be permanent. 1) Visual - Why is Store using a mix of upper and lower case on its headers? For one thing, Segoe Bold looks inexplicably terrible like that, and secondly I think the single best moment during WM10's design development was when we first saw the MS blog showing the new design via the Photo screenshots. Segoe Bold looked great in all caps for headers, with that slight spacing. It looked crisp, deliberate and solid. The whole OS looked like it was turning a corner towards something more pro and grown-up. But not only have they not expanded that look throughout the OS in the way I expected, they're now easing off it towards something much worse. 2) Mail. How is it that Mail doesn't work? Why does it take forever to sync a mailbox (literally forever -- I'm trying to sync and it sits there with the abacus animation, endlessly)? Why has it not sync'ed my Outlook account for 19 hours? How come it didn't autosync itself during that time? This is a fundamental part of a smartphone, maybe even more important than the browser for me.   So, if I could, I'd vote for "Looking good, but some aspects sorely need improvement".
  • I can't install it , shows 0x800705b4 error when preparing to install , anyone know a fix for this problem? , I downloaded it 6 times and the same error occurs
  • it has been 12 hours since istarted the download. progress bar is still at 0.
  • Lockscreen still slow
    Photo app still needs improvement
Circular profile pics look out of place on start screen
#tileart doesn't work.  Maybe it didn't work in previous builds but I need it now :(

  • Yes
  • I use it on my L-1520, it is my daily driver. I am still getting the loading.... thingy... I know it is not fully baked, but I somewhat like it and can tollerate its shrtcomings. I was surprised when my ask if I would roll back to 8.1, and my answer for flat out NO. Surprised in the sense that, I have gotten use to it, some cool features and aesthetic I don't want to leave, I am missing some stuff like Hey Cortana a very few other features, but truly does not want to go back to 8.1 and realy open to sticking it out with these build releases since 10512 to what ever they roll out until final release. I like what it will potentially be and it is usefull to me as 3/4 baked as it right now.
  • sometimes the "Loading.." appear in front of me :c (but is less than before, Good job microsoft btw)
  • Unsatisfied, i lost my default messaging app in both lumia 640 xl and 535 after soft reset.
  • If the Lumia 1520 is handling it all 'better' then why do I read that this phone will probably never receive the final build?
  • Fb Messenger has been the only 'issue' for me. Notifications are immediate, but live tile takes around 5~10 minutes to update.
  • Works very well, I'm satisfy with this release! Good job MS
  • Finally stable enough for use as a daily driver in my opinion. Running on Lumia 930. Heats up way more than usual during wifi use. Windows Central app now takes longer to load. The lockscreen delay still occurs when plugging/unplugging phone in for charging/data transfer (but glad it no longer happens for the wake up button). Still one hell of a delay for action centre the first time after the phone's reset or powered on. Still no "Hey Cortana" function it looks like. Maybe in later builds?
  • dear microsoft plz remove hamburger from all aplication s and make it like old style  that is simple and..swipeable...otherwise it is great build eagerly waiting for windows 10 ...i am using lumia 735 and from pakistan plz considered it ..thx a lot
  • Lumia 930: Ramdon restarts, three within four hours.
  • Could be overheating? The first thing I do after every update on my L930 is to check Bluetooth and NFC, and make sure all switches are off for NFC.
  • Windows Central is insanely slow in this build, and the live tile does not update unless I enter the app. 6tag is also super slow. Other than that I really like this build. :)
  • Not gonna vote because my situation is fairly unique - got this build on my HTC 8X due to a bug. Phone is stuffed now :( Can't roll back with recovery tool either.
  • So yeah, pretty unsatisfied with this latest build X-D
  • Could it take 3+ hours and still 0% downloading?
  • for me, it has been 0% from last 7-8 hours. Planning to revert to 8.1 now and get the 10536.1004 directly.
  • I thought this build was good bit I just hanged and after three restarts and a soft reset it's working again, but it got really fucked up..
  • When windows 10 mobile will finally release? Any idea guys?
  • Anyone checked it on 730? Is the Navigationbar at the bottom working?
  • I wish I had an opinion on this build, but I've been having issues with the update on my 1520.  The first set of updates failed on me multiple times during the "preparing to update" phase.  ["Why are you always 'preparing'?!  Just go!"]  Finally it took and I'm installing 10536 now.  Can't wait to try it.
  • Calls, sms, Facebook, Viber don't work on my Lumia 930 after update...
  • This build runs fine on my L1520 and 640xl Windows Central runs slow on it article takes at least couple secs to open like it gets stuck when you click on something. but everything is faster very smooth i think alot of us feel better now that a new build is finally out.
  • Well, it's vastly superior to the build available on the Slow Ring from which I made my test Nokia 830 jump. But it's, to me, nowhere hear being completed enough for a developer preview let alone releasing to the public.   (By the way, in case no one noticed, Microsoft patched the scheme that allowed Android apk's to be installed on WP10. You can install them still but nothing will work. I think it was worth mentioning)
  • It works on my Samsung Ativ S so I'm extremly satisfied.
  • I have been setting my phone up from scratch for the past 2 hours, and my 930 is almost hot enough to fry an egg.  Other than that, we are getting close.  Good job by the team.

  • Have you switched off NFC Tap to Share and Tap to Pay (under Bluetooth>NFC)?
  • Works great on HTC 8X :D No more crash no more random restart! Just one long hard reset and my phone became a phone again and not a brick.
  • Yes, it will work for a while and then it will start the reboot process again.
  • Improvements are on the horizon. Microsoft Band is now connecting and my glass is half full. Waiting patiently to toast the full version. Hope glance screen is patched soon. Overall, fan like me getting happier but wanting developers to jump on to make the platform that much better. Kudos to the engineers for all the hard work and long hours!
  • A couple of issues I've encountered after the first few hours of use are...
    1. Lock screen time and other icons don't appear when screen is activated from a notification, eg: Dismissing an alarm
    2. My accent color was changed from orange to blue, yet the notifications pull down tab still had orange accent. When changing the accent colour back in settings it didn't apply system wide until a power cycle
    3. Windows Central app VERY laggy when clicking on a news article (approx 5 secs. for the article to appear). Same when backing out of an article
  • Bought an android today
  • I see an improvement, but there are still issues and with RTM approaching and all those bugs still there I do not feel very confident about W10. Visually it is a step forward, 8.1 feels too chunky on L1520, there are all those pixels that are not used. I do not like UI inconsistencies in MS apps. Hamburger yes, hamburger no, settings here or there, I don't think an attention was paid to this, to give an experience that is same across the OS. That is my main issue not counting the usual build drama with serious bugs still preventing its releasing. I do not have anything to compare it with, last time we got a beta that was very close to RTM and any drama happened only internally. It would be good to know from MS if this is normal, if they are understaffed, etc. They probably won't tell either way though.
  • Major problem for me: 1. unable to unlock my encrypted phone after upgrade, I have to hard reset 2. Edge is not updated, no "Go forward" feature and not able to popup window for user/password when using proxy 3. Android app stop working
  • Still can't use groove pass..... :-(
  • Went from 512 to 536 on Lumia 928 Was working better about 5 hours ago. Seems to be deteriorating after first reboot this afternoon. After first reboot this afternoon, the Messaging app tile is now opaque on start screen. Nothing happens when I press it. I can still get to it from the app list. Edge icon same thing, except Edge does not show up in app list. Cant launch browser anymore. Cant find Messaging Skype Beta in store. Not sure if Im getting messages anymore. Cant load Bing Vision lens.    Where did Edge browser go? How do I load skyp beta app?   Start Loading/Resuming still there upon reboot. Seems to not occur as often once you get Start to work.
  • Follow up.  I get an error message when trying to open Edge: "Microsoft Edge can't be opened. There may be an update in the store". I dont know what to do. I cant find out how to reinstall Edge. The phone depends on the native browser in many ways.   I installed UC Browser HD. It does not appear on the app menu. I can open it by searching for it in the Store and clicking the 'Open' button. But that is not acceptable.   I have gone through two resets.    Messaging app broken... cant click on link to get the Skype Preview beacuse of missing browser and for some reason I cant sign into my MS account through the UC Browser. Looking for suggestions and help. Thanks.
  • Edge browser doesn't work as it should, this including MS website
  • Nice but I am still waiting for the ability to change tones for email and messaging notifications. My hearing is fading and I need tones that I can hear instead of the "soft" ones forced into the build.
  • I'm satisfied with this build compared to the previous releases. Especially with that last hellish start screen bug patched. Then I'm getting the idea that split screen apps are a possibility, maybe a yes / no popup that suggest to open another app after holding the start key.
  • Anyone here who knows when windows 10 will finally be released to the public?
  • Build 10536 is aiight... But, where did the message icon go? User lose the message icon when they do a hard reset. Dan, comment on this. (I had to install Skype message beta to be able to read my texts).
  • Am not quite sure what Microsoft fixed here other than the hotspot and the sleep or quite mode .. The performance on both my 640XL and 1520 is not worthy of all the delay and the positivity WC shows.. See for yourself
  • This build is better for me, especially after doing a hard reset, but I am really struggling with email. I stopped 10 for about three weeks due to stability issues and went back to 8.1... After coming back last night, I must say that I live the new keyboard.... And the settings...
  • Actually I still have the same bugs from the previous build on my Lumia 920. The menu animation is buggy, system is kinda slow, can't create folders on start screen, the delay to show clock and notifications in lock screen still exists, the performance in the store app is terrible... Actually it feels like I'm using the old build.
  • Jesus Lord!!!! Reading all these comments there is no way Microsoft will finish W10M in time for next months presentation. I'm pretty sure they will release half ass beta software AGAIN and promise updates as "COMING SOON"
  • Disappointed with the screen tearing still present in this build on my L928. This has always been present in past builds. It's extremely distracting and hard to focus when scrolling. Aside from that, responsiveness has improved, but is still no where near what it was with WP8.1.
  • It took me over 8hrs for this thing to install. L830. The battery seems to drain faster but that could be because of the install this morning. Will evaluate after a full night of charging.
  • No new for me same fu%%%n bugs
  • I installed it on my Lumia Icon last night.  I had to reset to factory to get it to install, and the first two updates that came together took a very long time.  Now that it's there though, I'm pretty happy.  My only two complaints so far are that it has difficulty opening Corana's settings from her notebook, and I still can't find the "Hey Cortana" setting.  We'll see what happens when my wife texts me on my ride home.  Hopefully the bluetooth Cortana voice texting works as well as it always has.
  • I hope tethering works again, it hasn't for a while (even before they said it didn't).
  • From 512 update, but fail, but storing downloaded file as system in phone memory. Cant delete it and not enough to download again. So i choose revert 8.1 and update again. Now it has installed. From 1-10 i give this build 6. Need work at update process, this build not bad, just fine, but not good enough. Ready for daily use as beta. Lets give feedback as more as possible.
  • It's coming along nicely but still underwhelming for some reason. OneDrive crashes all the time now and anything that tries to open the photos app to attach a photo crashes as well.
  • Needs a lot more cowbell if you're going to compete with the Driod and iOS.
  • I gave up on 10 previews, I'm happily running a stable 8.1.
  • The build is great :D
  • No issues in my Ativ SE
  • Definitely the best preview build yet! Landscape keyboard on my Lumia 640 XL is working now. And I agree, this build is faster!
  • Only the installation part took long time.. Build is awesome.. Super fast
  • I like the build a lot, honestly given that it's a technical preview I love it, however when I upgrade right from 8.1 whenever I reboot the phone it says updates were installed whether they were or not, and if I do a reset it fixes it, but I can't get mms to work (tmobile) I've manually entered it and I can get data, but does anyone know how to manually enter in mms for tmobile?
  • Some bugs gone, good pictures app, bad battery life, seems faster.
  • Not smoothly enough
  • Looks the same on my 1020, clock on lockscreen lags +/- the same, only one part of the update installed successfully... will have to try again. Overall performance seems a bit better in some ui elements, keyboard and other overlays. First thing I found out was that it never asked me the pin to unlock the sim. Not even going to "settings > system > phone", what would usually trigger a pin prompt works, had to do this: http://forums.windowscentral.com/windows-10-mobile-insider-preview/38288... to unlock the sim. Quiet hours now shows as disabled, yay! (No cortana for my region and language :( )
  • i am getting your battery needs to be charged before you can continue the upgrade. My phone is plugged in and is at 60%. I am using a 640xl
  • And we should not forget we are all beta testers here... technical build right?
  • Anyone else having Mobile Hotspot issues? I already posted to feedback, but: Mobile Hotspot works, but disconnects any clients every 2 minutes and then requires turning off MH and then back on to reconnect.
  • It keeps messing up in photos, still won't let me do custom text tones, freezes quite a bit and has to be restarted. Edge still refuses to properly format web pages. Overall however, there are some solid improvements. I believe Microsoft still have a long way to go.
  • Plzz make support Cortana for windows10 in India...
  • There is splash screen after wake up the phone and before enter the passowrd... it splashed the last app used...may be for less than a second but could read good amount stuff in that time... so even if someone dont know the pin/pw could still get glimps of what I was doing!!!!
  • Facebook does not work on this update, the feed refresh fails.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no improvement and multiple reboots.  Frustrating...
  • My Icon is running hot and battery life is about 1/3 of what it used to be (previous insider build) - I'm going to clean install it later tonight, maybe tomorrow will be better.
  • Why does my device running Denim on 8.1 say Welcome to Cyan when i update to WM10?
  • I still have the start screen'loading' issue. I thought that was supposed to be fixed...
  • What about vpn?
  • MMS still not working. Back to 8.1 for me. Lumia Icon/Verizon
  • about 12 hours before this update was released my phone stopped loading the start screen for the good. Couldnt get it working at all. (Used to happen before but after few tries of rebooting and soft resetting the device it works fine.) So I had to reset the phone anyways. Then did all the updates and now I have the latest version on my Lumia 1520, start screen still doesnt load if I power off and on the phone. Still saying loading and randomly loads the start screen after minutes (not seconds) and trying different things. *sigh* I do use quite a lot of folders but that's what I love about Windows phones and wont give up on it!! I am gonna wait till I see if things improve magically in the next couple of days before I vote saying it is horrible :)
  • Don't know why, but the update process keeps failing on my Lumia Icon. I've tried several times today and while it downloads and starts the install process, it fails repeatedly at 5-10% of the initial install. I've reset the phone and restarted several times but no success! Any ideas?
  • Huge improvement on 1020 & 640. Sorely tempted to throw my 930 into the mix now.
  • All apps is running faster, except for Windows Central App, it takes quiet a long time to open the app, or call any article page, or even when going back to home screen.
I earlier thought it's a build problem, but now seeing all these apps running smoothly I believe it's something else, I did try to remove the the app and reinstall it, before that I tried to remove cash.
Any one else have this issue?
Am using a 1520 with the latest windows 10 build.
  • Same slowness here after win10 - Lumia 830
  • I have noticed that when another bug occurs -which makes the app runs in the free version mode (that shows Ads)- it works flawlessly actually works better and faster than in WP8.1 or last W10 build, therefore I have concluded that the problem is only in the paid version, as when I restart the app and it works in the full mode again (no Ads) then it become super slow.
I hope this can help Windows Central developers to identify the area where problem at.
  • I have lumia 1520 my issue is my phone suddenly turns off when the battery goes down to 20%. Whats the problem do i need to replace my phones battery...?
  • Only thing navigation key setting not available
  • I have lumia 730 and build is not downloading...
  • It takes long time to download....> 3 hrs...
  • I´m triyng @ L830 (my main phone) .... After a disastrous 10166 (sad face, 'loop loading' , etc) , this last 10536 is amazing ... just few issues (apps not opening at first use, or closing without reason, text fields on some apps not following the scale, start screen rendering a bit brighter on first miliseconds, color scheme not updating on all active screens with menus or texts, shortcuts for websites - created previously or by Edge) not showing thumbnail anymore, among others).  Missed some apps like Metrotube, Team viewer, Instaweather pro, JDB Facebook, email & calendar not my prefered style yet, Settings menu still confusing a bit, Store lagging for common actions .... Battery life was same as WP 8.1, Notifications got a little lazy to update status on tiles ... Well ... better than I expected.  Getting back to 8.1 to see if is everything ok and probably will try 10536 again soon, next weekend.
  • Don't see or feel anything new. I feel though MS play with the menu a lot. First left upper corner, then back to right lower next, then back. I'm like wTF they trying to do. It's like the menu system is all over the place. It's the only thing that pisses me off about their builds.
  • can't answer, still stuck at 0% in 3 frickin hours
  • 1520 and no issues to grump about yet. Runs really nice. I guess I do have one small gripe; I can no longer sweet any ringtones or notification sounds from my ringtone device folder or music library, did a hard reset with restore, and one without restore, guess it'll pop up at some point, it's just annoying.
  • I am not able to install build 10536 on my 1520. Any tips on what I might be doing wrong?
  • If Cortana worked region id keep it i need Cortana
  • Good evening guys. I cannot seem to install build 10536 on my nokia 1520. It downloads, install then tells me there was an error installing. Any tip?
  • Same for me indicia...
  • You should revert back to 8.1 then install the insider app again and then get the update, I was having similar issues but then i decided to go back to 8.1 and get 10536.1004 directly. It is an easier process than going to 10536.1003 from 10525 and then getting the final 10536.1004

  • and yes I notice a big drop in battery over night.....a bit heat up at the back cover too.....again not satisfied!
  • Everything seems smaller on WP10   keyboard need to make it a bit larger!!!! Not that im blind but 8.1 is just right !
  • This is the only build I managed to successfully install on my 640XL and I am really quite liking it.  It works 98% for what I need it to do, with no factory restore needed after the upgrade.  There are only a few minor issues for me. A few app notifications in action centre not being picked up by my Band being (e.g. LINE).  The Store never seems to download the Gameloft app, it always fails, any workaround. I cannot get Cortana to read my SMS messages just yet. Other than that, this is probably the best build so far.
  • We all Accept that MS is working hard to get WM 10 But in build 15036 we are having so many issues..... Please Concentrate On Some major Bugs Like Nav bar overlapping on apps, and in my Lumia 535 i cant play games bcz of nav bar.. and its some what laggy.
  • Windows 10 mobile seems to be androidification and nothing else .can any one tell what does windows 10 mobile has but android hasn't. Answer is nothing.
I think Microsoft has lost track of leadership they now want to follw
    These Lagdroid people.
This isn't what we bought windows phone
  • Right Ajay
  • Thanks Mohammad for your honest opinion
  • MS lost their self respect
  • 536 is no good on my L920. Just hangs loading main screen. Can only use edge and settings by the back door through bing.
Using slow ring only gets me a later version of WP8.1 created in Feb 2015. Now that really is the slow ring.
  • Using slow ring gets you a version of 8.1? how is this possible? It's for WP '10' preview builds
  • It is total $4!t on my 1320, It is still slow as you know what and it freezes. I'm in the process of a hard reset which is such a pain to have to do everytime you update. MS needs to focus more now on Windows Mobile instead of making start screens for iOS and Android they should start by fixing theirs first.
  • Crap.. It restarts from 99%. Even I m on 4G n/w. It happens 2 times
  • Can't upgrade... I Lumia 1020.... N they say wet can't make full use of the camera. What to do??
  • Very satisfied. Got hotspot back. Far more repsponsive. Battery stable.
    Looking pretty satble
  • My messaging not showing after 10.10536 update
  • I upgraded on my 1520 from build 10512, didn't do a hard reset - MUCH MUCH SLOWER and more resuming times. WinCentral App takes forever to load. Battery drains a LOT faster. Do we really need to hard reset EVERY time we get a new build? Or is it part of their goal for us to Upgrade (mainly for WP8.1 to W10M) without having to reset the phone?
  • I still have the "loading" start screen issue on boot after unlock. It takes a while but goes away. Groove still broken for Pass subscribers. Overall a huge improvement. Core features need to get finished and polished. Performance must be improved and optimized.
  • My 930 gets extremely hot, and has rebooted twice... Anyone else?
  • My Lumia 1520 same problem + charging takes forever
  • not complaining but, I ran the update 3 times already, 5+hours each but never succeed to install, after preparing to install I received an error and then rolling back to 0% so I give up, thx MS
  • Updating from 8.1 is much easier
  • Well, the only issue I've seen on my 1520 so far is that apps do not instantly pin to the start screen like they should, there appears to be some delay. I still like this build better than the last, because it fixed that dreadful loading of the start screen. Other than that, I haven't run across any issues that are major, just yet. I love the addition of folders in the photos app, though.
  • after downloaded apps...it doesn't appear on apps list at all....pinning got issue too..no pinning....no deleting apps on start screen....messy build!!!!
  • I cannot see the update yet.
  • Hello
  • SIM not working! 630 DS
  • HI, i'm new to Insider program, joined yesterday I have noticed some of the issues on my Lumia 1520. 1. Charging and heating issue- it took 8hrs to refill the battery to 89% level and lot of heating, as if i'm playing some high end game. 2. while changing the transperancy of the tiles the start screen shows loading..... and its longer Anyone facing the same issues, please suggest some help. Thank you
  • Love its direction. I simply can't use it.
  • Horrible experience . Been striking on v10 for a couple months. Swipe keyboards won't install and very slow. This update last night killed my Lumia 920. Reboots were taking 5 HOURS! And then all I could see was the battery indicator.
Back on 8.1 and loving it. So fast , good battery life, and I got my keyboard. I only miss the edge browser
  • Currently im using build 10512 ,,,can i directly install new build 10536 after hard reset
  • On lumia 720
  • Can't download.. Hell as fuck.. Lame !
  • What people don't realize is that phone are just like computers lower end will not run like high end. I have a brand new cheap android phone and it runs like shit my 920 with any of the Windows 10 builds run better then this android phone. If you want Windows 10 to run fast get a better phone.
  • Out of topic Please upvote for a recycle bin in windows 10 Mobile Windows-Feedback:?contextid=460&feedbackid=c666a9a6-6feb-4a3d-b574-445aae7b53ca&form=2&src=2
  • This build is one of the worst that my Lumia 820 had encountered, certainly considering how far along we are. Disappearing keys on the keyboard is the worst problem. Apps flashing screen on opening is also back. Soft reset, followed by hard reset has not only failed to correct, but now"messaging"app has gone completely... No tile..... And gone from all apps list! Will now roll back to WP 8.1 and then reinstall latest build again since this only my W10M test device. So far very disappointed.
  • On lumia 720 it is running smooth except below mentioned issue.`
    1. From Whatsapp,Not able to select photos and open camera
2.Performance is improved but still some lag is there
3.Lockscreen automatically goes off for 1 sec while providing pin to unlock screen
4.Zooming of photos is still not smooth
5.After updating glance screen,it just got disappeared form extras.
  • Running great on my 1520!
  • I have had the preview on my daily driver (Lumia 535) since 10166. 10536 feels very smooth, and most of the issues have been resolve.
  • On my 930 the start screen still won't load in this build.
Keeps loading, loading, loading, resume, loading, loading etc...
  • Working well on my 930 and I agree it is better than 8.1 and I loved that is.
  • Earlier versions that I've tried has not worked on my Lumia 1020 (no phone or no wifi...) Has anyone nowk succssfully upgraded to 10536 and found it working as it shuld on a 1020?
  • Wow! Based on the comments, most users experienced dissatisfaction. I'm still holding back for update....
  • I'm enjoying the fact that Hub is back. And finally there is a release that I could install without having to reset my phone in any way. It worked perfectly fine right after launch and so far I have not had any noticable blockers or issues directly related to the OS update. The only thing is that some apps have to be uninstalled and installed again for updates to work. And it is draining my battery faster, which is a tad disappoinint. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to keep the battery from daraining so fast?
  • Is it just me or is the Windows Central app pretty laggy in this build
  • Stuck on 10166, I am unable to update. Please help
  • Mine didn't go so well, after updating my 1520 on both updates due yesterday morning, I did a clean wipe for a fresh start and it completely wiped out my inbuilt (strange) messaging app, yep no built in messaging, so did another wipe to see if that cured it but no still no messaging app on the start screen or app list, even when I wanted to text a reply on a call coming through it said no app installed, cant manually download it from the store so had to flash back to 8.1. But it did seem fast and robust than the previous builds.
  • Stuck at 10%
  • There is something wento wrong on build 10536.1004 when you uninstall a app that was on the start screen it goes invisible when you unpinned it, and doesn't remove in the app list. It will remove when restart my phone. Fix this. Another this there is a problem on signing of pin code in lockscreen. When you hit the forgot my pin and tap the cancel after that, it gives automatically create a new pin. This thing is risky when someone get your phone and he just quick change your pin easily.
  • how to able cortana in india in windows phone 10...and also thay are saying that they able speech input for india but i dont find mic
  • Working very well on my Lumia 925.
  • So far these items are not working for me;
    1. Backup to onedrive
    2. Unable to add custom ringtones.
    3. Using Cortana has caused reboot at least once.
    4. Device warming up. Clean install and hard reset did not solve it. Other than that it is looking great. Been using it as a daily driver on my 1520.
  • Agree,need this.
  • How satisfied I am? Well, I'm stuck on 0% download for more than a day. And as download is pending, so are my app updates.
  • Agree the build is little more stable than the previous one, but the issues havent been ironed out completely , the lock screen and start screen bug is still very much present and still takes close to a second to load and the curse of the "resuming..." and "loading.." bug is still there. i dont know how this build performs on phones with lesser ram but my Lumia 1020 with 2 gigs of ram still performs painlessly slow in the photos app and the start screen specially when you wake the phone up after long intervals . The mail app which was superb in windows 8.1 is ruined in windows 10 which is why ive been using my secondary lenovo A6000 for mails etc.Like wise microsoft edge browser is still quite buggy. now i know this is a technical preview and is improving with every iteration but i hope microsoft looks into all this. And yes please bring back Lumia camera app! its one of the primary reasons for me to get the Lumia 1020 and the stock camera app has made it into a paper weight!
  • My Messages (SMS) app is missing. After hard reset and restore backup it was appearing as a grey tile, clicking it opens Store. After second hard reset and clean install it was completely missing.
  • Y cant we have lumia camera.its pathetic ..1020 user
  • Can't install, failed to install from the sd card.... Never ending updating / upgrading.
  • unable to update instagram display picture, and truecaller app is not supporting to W10 version  still as same as the last update the only thing has fixed is touch problem. (LUMIA 540)
  • upgraded it on my L1020, now i am unable to set WhatsApp in the notification tab and not able to see all the alerts on the locked screen which is annoying.
  • I upgraded from 8.1 directly. Now my phone does not open to startscreen. Got only error 0x8007052e with grey background. Is my phone bricked? Do I have to reinstall with recovery tool?
  • Cant show the update on my L920.. What can I do? Please suggest me...
  • It is taking Too Long to download the update in lumia 638. I have started it in the morning 10.15am now it is 3.23 pm only 84% showing. My wifi is 8mbps speed and only used by 4 persons.
  • ya this update is off 825MB
  • I have it on my 640XL and so far I find it ok but worse than the previous build. Apps crash more. Had to reset phone twice to get it working properly because the first time round it refused to install apps to the phone again. The second reset it installed the apps but I have the start screen loading loafing loading issue again. Took three hours to load my start screen. I love Windows 10. It is very user friendly when it works, but I think that it is still too unstable to say we are close to an RTM. But again many of the current complaints are long standing issues that are not resolved and those issues are intolerable if the final version has not ironed out these bugs.
  • I still have the same problems with sync of my Band! When using Notification Center in Health, I don't get notifications from WhatsApp and more.... So in this build 10536.1004 on my 1520 I still cannot use my Band 100%! Please fix this!! Also 3th party apps like Band companion and Pimp my Band are not working at all!! They cannot get connected to my Band, while I have a paired and working Bluetooth connection! For the rest this build works quite good, with still a bit lag.... So please Microsoft, check these all!! Thanks!!
  • We are getting fixes and updates for the things which were working perfect on 8.1.. Photos app.. Lock screen... Even 8.1 locksreen was customizable... Browser was working fine... And do you people really think that its going to be better than 8.1.. Seems not like it so far..
  • Wish I hadn't bothered with this update....took several hours to try and work out where the basic messaging service had vanished to (non core windows phone users are going to be very confused if they fire up thier shiny new Lumia 950's in October and can't find a basic text message app)...and Cortana notebook and settings doesnt work at all. It's like its been completely disabled
  • In my Lumia 830 some apps were showing in my app list but when i clicked them it asked to check store for update.  I had to uninstall the apps and then i did have to redownload those apps. For example here maps and drive were one of those apps. Anyone similar issues with those apps or no any issue after update?
  • Lumia535-lag onscreen, lag on start screen,i can personalize with my sound person in people,is workin slow, with delay.im back to 8.1.
  • So this release actually feels slower then the prior one once you are past the lock screen( which is faster).  I am happy about having the mobile hot spot back.  I am going to try a phone reset and see if that speeds things up like it has with all of the prior builds.  It is a PITA to reload music and apps but the phone feels much better speed wise afterwards.  MS needs to get this upgrade process cleaner.
  • When Officiall...????? Microsoft....!!!
  • How about the in-app purchases issue? I didnt upgrade because of this.
  • I updated it and it is stable, BUT THIS UPDATE MADE THE WINDOWSCENTRAL APP FREEZE AND HANG. on my lm1020
  • One thing I still can't live with this build (and the previous ones) is that some apps stop opening when pressing on the tile or on the app icon from the app list, I don't know how reproduce this, but i have to reboot the device as a workaround!! I don't if this is common issue or my lumia 820 is the only one with this problem :\
  • Should I want to download 2 updates when upgrading from build 10166
  • Where is support for Cortana on the Microsoft Band? That's my biggest issue and I really hope it gets addressed and they don't just drop support for the original Microsoft Band in favor of the Band 2.
  • After a hard reset I can't send nor recive test messages or sms anymore, it's completely gone! WTF?
  • Very, very slow on Lumia 520... some apps crashs all the time... It was hard to scale applications in a few moments, there was an error downloadinglanguage package, to ask that applications be installed on SD card if the application does not allow, it does not install until you change the option in the system, other than the 8.1 that asked if I wanted to install on the phone, applications, pictures, shows all (or only one) the recent photos and not only Favorites , the thumbnails in "people" do not appear, many setbacks andfew things that justify the change in a more basic phone like this.
  • Ruined my battery life on my 1020. Charged all night, only moved 20%
  • For some days the Store App just crashed on start. Today it works again without doing anything, The update to 10536.004 was a bit rough and long lasting but it's well worth the wait. Right now most things seem to work without problems. The Fotos App is now better than on the Desktop ;) But it's still a long way to go.
  • Running 8.1 on my L920. Should I update to 10
  • I had to go back to 8.1 to be able to update after 4 frustrating times from 512. Many people had the same issue and Aul said "Are you sure your WiFi is strong?"... yeah, it became strong after I went back to 8.1... I'm finally there... still lags and flickers here and there... apps continue to take forever to install... the update process was a mess... the jump after waiting a month is not worthy... I don't see how they will be able to offer a decent OS this fall... There is still a lot of work to do... and even bring back features like Bing vision...
  • Needs to be something between meh and very satisfied. Something in the "marked improvement but still some ways to go" area.  It is clearly running better than the previous build on my 920 (which has become my daily since my nexus decided to stop functioning properly). However its still not instant like it should be and i had forgotten how annoying the resuming screen is. Also my theme color is not working across the board, which is odd. My settings menu is in default blue, my texts are in my usual color of red, and everything else is in my current setting of medium grey... something clearly not working there.
  • Every build I have loaded on my unlocked 830 runs great for a day or two and then will get stuck endlessly on the 'loading' screen. I have tried disabling all lock screen notifications with no luck. Any ideas anyone?
  • Groove crashes & has to be opened couple times to see songs, backup assistant does not work, and contact groups do not show pictures and the start screen is often stuck on "loading"., and the Google+ circles drive me nuts. I went back to 8.1 and probably I will choose an icons phone in the near future.  MS should improve things not changing them all the time.
  • Very satisfied! Flashed my 640 XL back to 8.1 and went straight to 10536.1004 in no time. Stable and fast.
  • Trying to download it at 12th time. It's already downloaded, but when it started to prepare update something goes wrong and it shows an error. Already did a hard reset 3 times without a piece of luck. Lumia 1520
  • This build sucks (and W10 generally)! Big time.
  • Not impressed at all. If this is almost the final build wp10 will flopp. Talkman and cityman is a joke. Thinks ms knows this and let wp slowly die out to save some face. Turns the focus on delivering good apps on Android and ios.
  • Cannot create folders on the start screen after updating to 10536..
  • how to able cortana in india in windows phone 10...and also thay are saying that they able speech input for india but i dont find mic
  • Using a 1020. A bit faster but still get the loading and resuming screens quite often. But they don't last as long as before. Will put battery life to the test today. But so far so good. I think at this point MS should work on OS optimization. Start working on builds specifically for 512 1gb 2gb 3gb ram devices. Same features etc but specific builds for each ram size.
  • My lumia 525 dead!!! It says no boot option found and press any key to shutdown. Don't know what to do. Tried recovery but not recognized. Anybody help. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • It sounds like patience is a virtue for getting Windows 10 on your daily driver. Probably gonna wait until the official release for my 1520. However, I might download this insider preview on my old 920 just to see if it improves anything.
  • battery is draining very quickly...
  • I don't particular agree with the vote statements. It's an improvement over the last build, but it's not something I would recomend for WP 8.1 users.
  • Cortana sending SMS: Broken. Cortana's ability to recognise simple phrases I've used for months, without issue: VERY broken. Zoom back to homescreen from task switcher: glides back then JUMPS, in a VERY ugly manner indeed. Wireless hotspot: Been using it on my 640 XL for 4 months without issue - on 10536, signal keeps dropping! THIS BUILD IS A MESS.
  • I'm not reall satisfied. This is my first WM 10 preview on my 1520. Now for problems. WiFi does not work "at all". Restore to 8.1 does not work.Speaker phone does not woek. Phone frequently freezes up and I have to reboot. Phone dial pad did not work till a reboot then it worked normally except for speaker button. Several apps do not work, actually quite a few. Without WiFi woking how will I get future builds of 10? all in all it not ready for general release!!
  • Woke up this morning to my ativ S neo on build 536. Anybody else?
  • Fact that after multiple resets and hours to down load, I have no text messaging kinda makes this the worst build yet.
No app its just gone. I try to message someone from my contacts and it goes to the store to find an which it can not. :(
  • I've upgraded on lumia 925. Can't believe how much faster this build is. It's now a pleasure to use and would recommend it to anyone! Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • DO NOT PUT WP10 DP ON A DAILY DRIVER PHONE Installed on an old 720 had to revert back to 8.1 first and then onto latest build compared to last build the battery life is better apps do not close when exited which is an issue for lower end phones phone useage with no sim card is much snapier inc unlock screen overall there is an improvement from the last build, as its only DP it would not be appropriate to condemn any features or bugs, taking it for what it is... its an improvement from previous builds
  • The main issues I seem to be having on my Lumia Icon is sometimes the Start screen doesn't update very fast. I had a text message that showed a "1" on the live tile. I tapped it, read the test message, replied, and then hit the Start button to return to the Start screen and the "1" was still on the live tile even though there was no additional text messages. This also happened on a couple of other apps. Also, there is NO FREAKIN "HEY CORTANA" AT ALL! Not for sleep mode, not even for awake mode. Given that Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will have "Hey Siri" activated without having to plug in the phone, this is something that Microsoft needs to attend to IMMEDIATELY if they plan to complete with the new iPhones!
  • 10536 is terribly slow and laggy on my Lumia 1020. So much so that I took the SIM card out and put it back in my HTC One M8 Android phone.....which is very sad. I like Windows 10 Mobile a lot but the laggy response on both my 1020 and 1520 is what is keeping me away. I also found that even though Mobile Hotspot is available again I cannot hold onto a signal from my connected devices. Hotspot doesn't shut off, but when my screen goes to sleep on both the 1020 and 1520 the connection to my Surface Pro 3 drops. And lastly, I really dislike the continued inability to customize notification sounds for email and messaging. I have sent in my recommendations but I guess it isn't critical to add it right now....hope it does show up soon.
  • L930, bricked. Powerbutton and combinations wont work, dead... Instal went fine, sortoff. Couldnt enter my simcode so did a soft reset. Couldnt open wifi because it needed the settings app which needed the store app. The store couldnt find a network so i did a hard reset. The phone started, showed a exclamation mark for a second and went dead..... I really like this phone and wp10 so am a little sad now....
  • pretty much satisfied i would say, however, i can't set custom ringtones, while on the previous one i could. Ringtones from my "ringtone" folder dont show up for calls, only for alarm clock, and some apps from the store that have ready to save ringtones don't let you save them... Not a deal breaker, but i really love this feature and would like it to work. Anyone else has the same problem?
  • Rolled back its rubbish
  • Still prefer windows 8.1
  • What about have no comment to make at this time? lol... can't really say after just three days of intermittent use :P
  • Apple unveiled iOS 9 today,  Microsoft Unveiled Win 10 2017 lol..
  • Not a fan of the new design language. It has lost a lot of the polish and simplicity of Windows Phone 8.1.
  • In my lumia 630 Dual Sim it says 'No internet access' when connected to Wi-Fi through a proxy server. And there is no Folders tab in photos app and apps take lot of time to load.
  • I am stuck at 0% from the last 48 hrs despite 7 soft resets. I keep it plugged and idle and after4 hrs says updates are available to download and starts the process again. If the phone is in airplane mode battery drains at 15 % per hr.  Any suggestions?  Lumia 1520 ( India)
  • i had to roll back my 1520 that im using to test windows 10 mobile 8.1 is still way faster over all
  • Yesterday I finally decided to upgrade my 1520 to W 10 M. The upgrade was easy to get started but took over 2 hours to complete. I went to bed after it finished. This morning I started my phone and noticed that the speaker phone button did not work, and WiFi did not work "at All" and could not even see any signals in my area (Win 8.1 found more than 10). More than several apps would not open at all. Phone would freeze frequently. Phone dial pad would not let me enter any number till the first reboot then dial pad worked normally. Texting did work normally.
Lack of working WiFi was the deal breaker, how could I get any future phone updates with no WiFi? I then decided to go back to Win 8.1. I downloaded the Windows Phone Recovery Tool and ran it and it failed every time I tried. I then did a hard reset which restored a clean install of Win 10 Mobile in which WiFi worked but nothing I had backed up would come back so I ran the recovery tool again and it did work suddenly. I was then able to get to Win 8 M and then to 8.1 and finally was back to where I was before the upgrade. Not a pleasant experience. I decided I will wait till the final version is released to upgrade again. One more thing that is unusual is when i boot my phone after the NOKIA word at the beginning of the boot, the next thing on the screen in the blue Win 10 logo. then the phone boots into 8.1 as always. So something of Win 10 M still is in memory. Strange, Huh..
  • It is still falling short in two areas on my Lumia 1520: a) Start Screen "Loading" error is still there, although IF I leave the phone sit for few minutes it 'may' return and start to work normally until it happen randomnly again .......... b) Battery is still draining at faster rate compared to WinPhone 8.1, e.g. I set data connection as 2G (from 4G) at night, and battery dropped from 94% to 60% in about 7.5 hours. In the same time my secondary phone an LG G2 D800 (running Cyanogenmod 12.1 nightly) with same network, lost only 6%. Another minor issue I've noticed is when i wake up my phone, prior to showing lockscreen, sometimes my start screen flashes momentarily, an odd sort of a bug. Performance, in general seems to be on par with 8.1 if not better.
  • Further to my above post, I just discovered that when I try to make a Skype call, phone reboots not sure its OS issue or Skype issue.
  • I installed this on my 830 but the bug in the start screen is still there and that's the only big problem and for the minor problem is "where is cortana????" I've been using cortana a lot but now she's absent..huhuhu. :( I thought they fixed it already since it was mentioned that the start screen bug is fixed.
  • Terrible battery life. Dead messaging app. Strange glitches on start screen. Rollback on win 8.1. My phone is 640xl. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • hello, one question, should I hard reset after updateing to 10536 from 10512 ??
  • Only problem I find with this build over the last, is you can't download ringtones.
  • This is taking to long by now windows 10 mobile should be finished but instead there still major issues in every build. There must be one person working on this project?
    My patience are running out.
  • I have Lumia 535.the game did not play well.it do not display full screen and also plays little bit slow.plz tell me what to do.
  • I am having gaming issue since I Install technical preview.games did not play in full screen and also plays little bit slow.plz tell me what to do
  •  I have downloaded build 10536 6 times on my lumia 525, but the installation process is stuck at 6% and then failed.
  • I haven't found anything different besides the circles showing up larger in the People Tile (which is appreciated, they were a bit too small before) that affects me on a daily basis. Still no connect to PC shares in my local network, still no print support, etc..
Having some issues updating my offline maps, but all else seems okay.
  • Was stuck on the 10514 on my 930 because 10536.1004 failed to install. Several retries later I realised that a complete restore was required. However restoring with windows phone restore tool also pointed out that my firmware was not up to date - apparantly it failed to update along the way (pre win10) !! So I have been on the preview since 10166 with outdated firmware ... And the previous builds were not great but still working for me though! Since two days I am finally on 10536.1004 (with the latest firmware according to WPRT)  and I must say this feels very close to RTM from my point of view.
  • I tried to update more than 4 times in my lumia 525, but its showing error 0x8007050b4 every time,,,,  what to do????????????.   and now im back to 8.1
  • Updated from 8.1 GDR 2 on Lumia 830 and faced with several problems:   Authentication mechanism problem - Bouth Outlook and Calendar fails with an error after adding any account Some third-party apps like bank clients couldn't authenticate due some error Unable to open People - it closed soon after launch\ Unable to open Call app - the same result as in p.3 Now I've launched hard reset process and continue my observation. Also my lumia 525 with 514 (or something) build is not able to update to latest build: firstly, download process taking a very long time (approx. 3-5 hrs), secondly, in the end of the preparation-to-install processit fails with an error.  Thus, think twice before upgrading both from 8.1 and 10 (10514). Does MS fixing their errors? From build to build the ploat is the same: a big bug in some mainstream process. Very disappointing
  • This build is faster in loading the lock screen but yet to get perfection. The major bug here is the apps sometimes I get blank tiles when I try to unpin a tile and have to do a restart for it to disappear. And also when I download some apps it doesn't show until I reboot. One more issue is that few apps get an error while updating and I cant uninstall them too otherwise these haven't got any problems with this build and am running it on my L730...
  • I have been loving the Windows 10 preview experience on my Lumia 925 phone, and was prepared to put up with the various problems (it usually took three attempts to launch apps, the 'Loading....' and more recently the 'Resuming...' issues, which at worst would not clear for 20 minutes). But this morning my phone tried to update to the latest release, and as a result I woke to find my screen displaying the cogs and  :(  and then restarting every 20 seconds. That's when I realised it was probably a mistake to not heed the advice to not install 10 on your primary device! So, I've rolled back to 8.1 Denim, it has taken all day, but, my battery is only 5% down (in windows 10 I would lose 30-50% over 3 hours just on standby) and everything works and it is blisteringly fast compared to 10 preview! I did expect some issues with the preview releases, but in my opinion, Windows phone 10 is nowhere near to being stable enough to be released anytime soon. However, I do really look forward to 10 being ready, it looks great and it was great to use when it worked, it definitely has the potential to be the best mobile OS.
  • I am liking this new release.... I no longer feel like smashing my phone :) In general, these release worked much better on a fresh install vs upgrade from previous build. Battery on my phone (920) lasts the whole day. I did go and turn of some of the features / background processing for some apps.
  • My HTC M8 heats up badly on occasion when running things as simple as Facebook or Outlook mail. Anyone else having this issue? I have to shutdown all active apps and if that doesn't work I reboot the phone.
  • The build is surprisingly good. I held off with the preview builds until now. Just installed this last night. Took 3 hours to install then did a reset and took another 40+ minutes to install. The installation time is understandable as I was upgrading from 8.1 on my 930. Skype preview is good. I was able to use it with no issues so far. I haven't tried the call feature but I'll do that later. Accessing from the lock screen via PIN has no issues. Battery is better than it was. The phone gets tolerably warm unlike 8.1. My calendar s seems fine too. My appointments in my desktop can now be seen in my phone calendar. So far I have no complaints about this build. I was thinking of getting an iPhone 6s but with windows 10 and how it functions well with my desktop, I'd mousy likely get a950 instead. No kidding. I like the office 365 integration as well. With it I can edit my word and PowerPoint documents while traveling. The Lumia phone functions the same. The resolution is the same. If there is a difference, I couldn't see it. I wonder why I have 2 cameras though. Like 8.1, it has 2 cameras too but I only use one. I'm not a power user as people are here in this forum so i can say that for a regular user, this build is much better than 8.1. With this I'll probably ditch my iPad air since all I use it for is the apps for games. I'm planning on getting a surface pro 3 though. I read at another forum that iPad pro is comparable with SP3. I just don't know which one is better for work though. At any case, I like this build. Hopefully MS releases the official windows 10 mobile next month for the 930.
  • Store shows updates for paritucular apps like skype,IRCTC. But unable to udate and shows some error codes. Really bad.
  • I can't figure it out? On my 640 pretty much all's good so I installed in on my daily use 640XL but in: setting>extra's both the Device Hub and Glance Screen are missing. I'm more concerned about the glance screen setting. All be it it's not really all that important I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue and did you find out the problem and were you able to fix it?
  • Pants!!! My Lumia 930 is now stuck in permanent loop of down loading .1004 to a low percentage then ramping to 100% and failing to install. only references to error code all apply to WP8. Oh! and just the MINOR fact the SMS app has totally vanished. spent all weekend trying to sort. full reset the works still Nada. Thought Microsoft were supposed to be professionals. Every release gets worse.  Things keep breaking that were working. I don't mind trials to help develop /improve OS's but this roll out is amateurs hour.
