At Windows Central, we write about piles of headsets in our search for the best Xbox One headset and the best Xbox Series X, Series S headsets. And we previously reviewed this one, the Turtle Beach Recon 200, which is currently on sale as an early Black Friday deal at just $30, making it a 40% saving.
The Turtle Beach Recon 200 is a wired, entry-level headset that sports surprisingly good audio quality and robust construction, making it a great pick for a younger gamer who might not be as careful with their products as older relatives. The headband is reinforced with a strip of steel, and the connectors for the headset's sides are also encased in metal.
Budget option

Turtle Beach Recon 200
A great budget headset option
The Turtle Beach Recon 300 is one of the best-entry level headsets out there, and at $30, it's an absolute steal.
Even at its $60 RRP, I felt that this headset should've been more expensive. It has great audio quality that punches above its price point, and the fact it comes with mic monitoring sidetone for chat is a killer feature that not many wired headsets have at this price tier. In fact, I think this might be the only $30 headset with mic monitoring in the world worth buying right now.
The headset's design is two-tone with carbon fiber patterns and dark metal accents, and it looks great. Leatherette cushioning makes it comfortable for long sessions, and it sports compatibility for practically any device, with a switch for Xbox and PlayStation's chat APIs, and general 3.5mm connectivity for other devices. At $30, this might be the cheapest good headset on offer on Earth right now.
