What you need to know

  • InXile Entertainment has been working on a major remaster of the original Wasteland.
  • Wasteland Remastered is now set to be available on February 25.
  • It will launch into Xbox Game Pass.

Updated January 30, 2020: Wasteland Remastered is available separately for preorder, too.

Last year around E3 2019, InXile Entertainment confirmed that Wasteland Remastered was not only still in development but was now coming to Xbox One as well as PC. Today, InXile finally shared the Wasteland Remastered release date, which is set for February 25. Wasteland Remastered is coming to Xbox One and PC. On PC, it'll be available through the Windows Store, GOG and Steam. Like all Xbox Game Studios titles, it'll be available in Xbox Game Pass.

Wasteland Remastered takes the game that first released in 1988 and gives it a new coat of paint, as well as bringing it to new platforms. For newcomers who are interested in the upcoming Wasteland 3, this is the perfect way to check out the world of Wasteland.

Wasteland 3 is set to release on May 19 and takes the Rangers into the icy post-apocalypse of Colorado. There's new mechanics to play around with, including a powerful armored vehicle that can turn the tide in major battles. InXile was acquired by Microsoft in November 2018, which allowed the studio to delay Wasteland 3 and focus on polishing it while expanding the team.
