What you need to know

  • The Microsoft Surface Duo goes on sale on November 22, 2020.
  • The folding device will be discounted by $200, bringing its starting cost to $1,200.

Microsoft's Black Friday deals (opens in new tab) went live earlier this week, but you'll have to wait a bit longer to get a discount on the Surface Duo. The Surface Duo goes on sale for $200 off on November 22, 2020. With that discount, the Surface Duo is down to $1,200.

At this point, it seems like you shouldn't buy the Surface Duo at full price. The Surface Duo just went on sale for $1,200 at the end of October, and now we know it's going on sale before the end of November.

  • I'd consider at $800.
  • Kind of a weak sale, given it's been that price 2 or 3 times in the last couple of months (at MS and BB) already. I was hoping they would pair a $ off deal with free Surface Earphones or a Slim Pen or something...maybe?
  • I would be tempted if the $1200 price included a choice of Surface Earbuds or Surface Headphones.
  • For anyone concerned about those initial reviews on the Surface Duo a few months ago, practically every aspect of the Surface Duo has been greatly improved on. After several updates It's a totally competent device with minimal day to day issues now. You can TOTALLY use this thing as your daily driver, and not only that, but you will enjoy using it. It's really awesome if you're looking for something new and exciting. Once you have 2 screens you can't go back. I highly recommend it💯💯💯
  • What has me worried isn't that it's not the best at everything, more than there are too many "niche" instances where you'll feel compelled to have a companion device to get by. I could live with having to keep my G8 in my car for its audio prowess (3.5mm and the DAC are too good for me to ignore). If I have to carry my G8 to have a capable camera, I question if I can justify the price tag. By the way, how's the GPS? GPS on my G8 is occasionally spotty in some places, like brick/metal buildings. It's rarely a legit problem, but it's also noticeably behind Samsung phones in accuracy.
  • Fully agree, particularly if your employment involves Enterprise O365 - it is well designed for work along with your daily needs. Great phone.
  • Translation: We're beggin'.......PLEASE buy this thing!
