Next week we have a few new "AAA" releases on Xbox One, but there are still a few surprises here and there. Notably, Resident Evil 2 is finally launching on the console, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Nightmare offers an interesting take on the popular game. With that in mind, here are all the biggest games launching next week, between January 21 and January 25, 2019.

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 originally launched in 1998 and is considered a cult classic. The title features tense exploration and puzzle-solving gameplay that are staples in the series even to this day. For those unfamiliar with the story, players join rookie police officer Leon Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield, who are thrust together by a disastrous outbreak in Raccoon City. The illness transforms the population into deadly zombies who just want to kill.

Resident Evil 2 should launch on January 25, starting at $59.99. The game features Xbox One X enhancements. Capcom claims that you can choose to either play at 4K 30 FPS or 60 FPS with a lower resolution.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Nightmare

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the conclusion to Lara Croft's origin story. Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour. As she races to save the world from a Mayan apocalypse, Lara will ultimately be forged into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be. The new content focuses on Lara facing off against familiar enemies along with fallen friends inside Croft Manor.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Nightmare should launch on January 22. The Xbox One X version offers 1080p 60 FPS and 4K 30 FPS modes.

Life Is Strange 2: Episode 2

In Life Is Strange 2 players discover a story of two brothers, sixteen-year old Sean and nine-year old Daniel, who have to flee their Seattle home after a tragic accident that changes their lives forever. On the run from the police, Sean makes the difficult decision to take his brother and go to Mexico. As expected, life on the road is dangerous for the two boys. From what we know about the game, Life Is Strange 2 revolves around one of the children possessing telekinetic abilities. This makes them targets, but it's unclear by who.

Life Is Strange 2: Episode 2 should launch on January 24. The game features Xbox One X enhancements.
