What you need to know

  • The Surface Pro X has a new firmware update.
  • The update enables mobile operator self registration, which helps you set up a cellular connection.
  • The update also improves Bluetooth and Wi-Fi reliability

Microsoft shipped a firmware update for the Surface Pro X this week. The update enables mobile operator self registration, which makes it easier to set up a connection to LTE carriers, especially when traveling abroad. The update also improves Bluetooth reliability and Wi-Fi reliability. The Surface Pro X is already one of the best Windows laptops because of its mobility, so self registration is a nice addition.

Microsoft's support page (opens in new tab) outlines all of the changes, which can also be found below.
