Vehicle combat MMO 'War Thunder' may launch on Xbox One soon

War Thunder might be coming to Xbox One with Xbox One X enhancements sooner rather than later. After its Xbox One arrival was previously announced, the founder of the "War Thunder HQ" club on Xbox One, spotted its listing on the Microsoft Store.

War Thunder is Xbox One X Enhanced and features "4K Ultra HD" resolution on Microsoft's new console. The listing also states that the game should launch on June 1, 2018, but developer Gaijin Entertainment claims this is a mistake on Microsoft's part. Hopefully the developer will reveal the actual release date soon.

War Thunder is a popular military vehicle combat massively multiplayer online game (MMO). As with many MMOs these days, the game is free-to-play and features cross-platform support. The title brings air, land and sea battles directly to your living room. According to Gaijin Entertainment, it also features carefully researched and reconstructed vehicles ranging from the Spanish Civil War to the Cold War period.

War Thunder offers over a thousand playable aircraft, armored vehicles, and ships. American, Soviet, British, German, Italian, Japanese and French military vehicles are represented in the game. The title gets regular updates too, so there's always fresh content to explore. It's great to see War Thunder finally make its way to Xbox One, especially after years of demand from the console's users. Hopefully it'll garner a lot of popularity on the system.

  • If the image up top is any indication of the visual quality I'm surprised it can't hit 4k on the Xbox One S.
  • Probably 1080p on the Xbox One S.
  • WW2 setting? Boring. Next. Modern warfare (the concept, not the game) please.
  • Take a look at Ace Combat 7. I think you'll really like it.
