Windows 10 build 15042 ISO files now available for download

Microsoft has released (opens in new tab) the ISO files for Windows 10 Insider build 15042 to the public. If you're an Insider looking to do a manual fresh install of build 15042, the ISO files will let you do just that.

This build originally rolled out to the Windows Insider Fast ring late last week with a smattering of tweaks and fixes. The Fast ring has since moved on to build 15046, which similarly adds a bit of spit and polish as development on the Creators Update starts to wind down.

If you want to get started with build 15042, you can grab the ISO files now directly from Microsoft's Windows Insider website. The instructions for creating the an install disk with the files are found there as well.

  • There are several additional (?) downloads available:
Features on Demand Pack preview 15042
    Language Pack bundle preview 15042
Inbox Apps Bundle preview 15042 Don't remember seeing those with previous ISO files
  • I'm almost tempted to upgrade my production PC with this ISO but the creators update is only a couple of weeks away from RTM anyway
  • I'd wait as well, I installed 15025 a few weeks ago and found that it needs more 'polish' as it is stated above.
  • Recent builds have been really stable though. Being on release preview insider I'll probably get rtm release a week or so before public release anyway, I got Anniversary update on July 29
  • I can't get the 14965.1001 too fully down load it gets around 48-52% then stops I've tried slow/fast & preview
