ASUS' new ZenBook Pro Duo (UX581), which packs a huge second screen above the keyboard, is now on sale starting at $2,500 (opens in new tab). Built for heavy multitasking, the second screen, dubebd the ScreenPad Plus, complements the main 15.6-inch OLED display, and both are backed up by some powerful hardware.

The second screen is half the height of the main display, but it stretches across the full width of the ZenBook Pro Duo's body. It can be used either as a full second display by dragging apps to it, or as a dedicated dock for things like video previews, timeline controls, code windows, or audio mixing panels. It also makes a good surface for drawing with the included stylus.

Backing up those screens are 9th Gen Intel Core processors, with your choice of a Core i9-9980HK or Core i7-9750H. You can equip the laptop with up to 32GB of RAM, a 1TB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD for storage. There's also support for Wi-Fi 6 and a dedicated "Turbo Fan" button to get a cooling boost when needed.

  • Damn, that laptop has some beefed up specs... does the battery last longer than a few minutes? lol. Joking aside, I'm curious to see how they or Microsoft implemented the touch controls of dragging apps to the second screen. As I personally, don't see dual screen devices working well without gesture controls and a touch optimised UX i.e. Windows 8.
