Dates for WWE 2K26's full reveal and pre-order openings have been set — Along with gameplay hints and special editions homaging WWE's Attitude Era

WWE and 2K have recently officially kicked off the hype train that will lead us to WWE 2K26 by announcing that pre-orders for the game will go live on January 30th, 2026, along with its full official reveal (likely during an episode of WWE SmackDown that will air on that date).

This announcement came multifold through two trailers shown on a recent episode of WWE SmackDown and WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event, revealing WWE 2K26 will receive two special editions: the Attitude Era Edition and the Monday Night War Edition.

But that's not all, as WWE 2K26's official website has dropped some hints at what will be included in the game through a cryptic image with random objects.

These clues include a calendar, a pet iguana, fur boots + two-toned wig, VHS tapes, a shopping cart, and a microphone.

As far for that these hints could mean, here are my personal guesses:

  • The Calendar date represents when WWE 2K26 will be revealed (January 30, 2026).
  • The pet iguana could imply that the popular AAA wrestler Mr. Iguana will be added to the roster.
  • The fur boots + two-toned wig could represent new cosmetic outfits for our custom-made characters to wear.
  • The VHS tapes could mean reliving classic WWE matches from the 1990s, either from a Showcase mode or new challenge modes.
  • The Shopping Cart could mean WWE 2K26 will let the player re-enact the iconic 2001 Supermarket Brawl between Booker T and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
  • The Microphone could perhaps imply that WWE 2K26's rendition of the series' long-standing Universe Mode will feature voiced lines during promos or improvements for the mode overall.

The road to WWE 2K26 has truly begun now

For the past few weeks, we've been hearing only rumors about what WWE 2K26 will bring to the franchise, from a Showcase Mode dedicated to CM Punk to several returning match types.

Now that we have an official date for when WWE 2K26 will reveal itself, we will at last get to see whether these rumors are true or false on January 30, 2026.

Not to mention, we will likely get more details on what kind of content we can expect to see in Attitude Era Edition and Monday Night War Edition. I'm looking forward to the content of the former rather than the latter, as I never watched WCW as a kid, but was fully invested in WWE's Attitude Era during the 1990s (here's hoping for some nostalgic costumes for Kane and Undertaker)

Either way, if you're a fan of WWE wrestling games, make sure you don't miss out on that to see what new crazy match types, modes, and new playable wrestlers await us in WWE 2K26.

Will you be tuning in on January 30, 2026, to see WWE 2K26's grand reveal? What new gameplay modes or playable wrestlers are you hoping to see? Plus, do you think my predictions of WWE 2K26's website teasers will turn out true or false?
