Developer Bethesda Game Studios celebrated the 10-year anniversary of one of its biggest and most beloved RPGs, Skyrim, in 2021 with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition — a version of the game that included all its DLC as well as hundreds of curated community-made Creation Club add-ons. Now, four years later, it's done the same with its popular 2015 shooter RPG Fallout 4.
A full decade after Fallout 4's initial release, Bethesda has released Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. However, if you have the $39.99 Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition that includes all the DLC, you should not get the Anniversary Edition Upgrade, as you'll be unnecessarily buying all the expansions if you do. Sadly, the upgrade's price doesn't get reduced if you already have Fallout 4's DLC, so it's entirely possible to accidentally spend $20 you don't have to here.
Instead, Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition owners should buy the $19.99 Fallout 4 Creations Bundle that only includes the suite of 150 Creation Club items. By doing so, you'll get the content from the Anniversary Edition that you don't have, without wasting money on DLCs you already own.
