What you need to know

  • Nokia will soon release two versions of its PureBook Pro laptop.
  • Both the 15-inch and 17-inch models of the device run on 12th Gen Intel Core i3-1220P processors.
  • Intel recently announced its new mobile processors, including 12th Gen Core P- CPUs.
  • The laptop is made by OFF Global, but rebadged as a Nokia laptop.

Nokia has a new laptop in the works called the PureBook Pro. The company's website has listings for 15-inch and 17-inch models of the device, though some information is missing. Both sizes of the PureBook Pro will run on Intel Core i3-1220P processors and feature 8GB of RAM. Nokia's website does not state a release date or pricing for the laptop at this time.

The CPU inside the PureBook is one of Intel's newest mobile processors. The company unveiled its 12th Gen P- and U-series chips on February 23, 2022.

The display of the PureBook Pro is FHD and only hits 250 nits of brightness. Other specs are modest as well, including Wi-Fi 5, rather than the newer Wi-Fi 6.

Twitter user TheGalox_ recently shared specs, pictures, and pricing of the new PureBook Pro. If the leaks are accurate, the 15-inch model will cost €699, while the 17-inch model will cost €799. The rumored pricing puts the Nokia PureBook Pro over the best cheap Windows laptops.

Rounding out the specs of Nokia's new laptop, the PureBook Pro features 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. It has two USB-C 3.2 ports, a single USB-A 3.2 port, an audio jack, and a microSD card slot.

Both models of the Nokia PureBook Pro will be available in blue, dark gray, red, and silver.

The new Nokia laptops feature the well-known branding due to a licensing agreement secured by French start-up OFF Global (via Yahoo Finance). That means Nokia had little in the way of designing or making this laptop but instead is simply lending its name to OFF Global for marketing.

  • No real innovation these days
  • Well, it's Nokia. Not a major name in PC's, or really anything anymore (sorry, Finland). But 12th Gen Intel is exciting in my opinion.
  • I just hope it's not a re-badge.
  • I mean, that's exactly what it is lol. It's at the end of the article. A French company called OFF Global makes it, slaps "Nokia" onto the laptop.
  • Lol, I should have been more specific. I was referring to a generic, plastic, cheap of garbage laptop made by an ODM in China (with everything fused down to save on cost), which is latter sold as if it's been built by the french co and then rebadged. If the French co has actually built, designed a laptop and then got certification from Nokia to use the branding in order to meet a level of quality than it's not your average re-badge. I hope that makes more sense in what I meant lol.
  • Apparently, placement for the trackpad has nothing to do with where you place your hands while using the keyboard.
