What you need to know

  • Cyberpunk 2077 now has a release date of April 16, 2020.
  • The release date comes alongside a new trailer and word that actor Keanu Reeves is part of the game.
  • The game will get expansions after launch.
  • Cyberpunk 2077 is available to preorder for $60 on Amazon.

When Cyberpunk 2077 went up for preorder, many gamers were curious if there would be expansions. According to CD Projekt RED, there will be and should be similar to its previous games.

According to an interview between Prima Games and Cyberpunk 20177 Interface Coordinator Alvin Liu, the game will get expansions. Liu said the following when asked about future content.

We are talking about expansions in the future. We want to make sure everything's complete, but we also want to build open worlds. I know when I was playing The Witcher 3 and I finished everything, I still want to know what everyone was up to. I think we're going to have opportunities like that as well for Cyberpunk 2077.

Hopefully, the expansions will be on the same level as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. However, only time will tell. It's unclear how much they'll cost at this time or how many there will be.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for preorder on Xbox One and other platforms at the moment. Aside from the sold-out collector's edition, there appears to be one version for $60. Just like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, future expansions may be sold separately.
