This is it, folks, we're now into the final day of this year's second Amazon Prime Day deals event, also known as the rather less catchy, Amazon Early Access Sale. You'll still need to be a Prime member (grab a free trial) to take advantage of most of these deals, and they will expire at midnight PST tonight sadly.

The virtual extravaganza has come out fighting with low prices on this year’s hottest tech and gadgets, including laptops, PCs, and gaming consoles. The event presents a chance to score some early savings ahead of other shopping events, like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, later this year. A fresh batch of deals landed today and many of yesterday's hottest picks are still going strong too. We'll be live blogging around the clock right until the end, rounding up the best deals and discount you shouldn’t miss.

While Amazon has its must-haves, we’re also seeing some of this week’s best discounts from other retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Microsoft, and more as they're keen to grab your attention too and not let Amazon have all the fun. No membership is required at those stores either!

While we’re still early, and Amazon hasn’t put its complete catalog of deals live quite yet, we’re already ramping up our coverage on one of the year’s biggest shopping events.

Windows Central will be blogging throughout the two-day event, and later I’ll be joined by other team members, rounding up our top picks from all corners of the website. In the meantime, get your wallet ready, and keep your eyes peeled as more deals start hitting the Amazon homepage.

The sale is fast approaching, but you’ll need to wait a little longer for Prime Early Access to get started. Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale kicks off at 12 a.m. PDT / 3 a.m. EDT on Oct. 11 for those in the U.S. and Canada with deals running 48 hours, through Tuesday and Wednesday. There’s a similar 12 a.m. kick off in other regions, with deals cycling out throughout the day.

Don’t forget you’ll need an Amazon Prime membership to take advantage of these offers, though Amazon does offer a free trial if you’re new to the service.

Crucial P5 Plus Review

We've already seen a lot of great storage deals from Amazon's Prime Early Access event, but this is one of the best if you're looking to upgrade or build a new PC. We reviewed the Crucial P5 Plus earlier this year, noting that its price-to-performance ratio is about the best that you're going to find. That's even more true now that the regular $100 price tag for the 500GB model has been slashed down to $58 for a 42% saving.

This M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, in our testing, hit about 6,400MB/s read and 5,060MB/s write speeds, making it ideal for gaming or general large file transfers. These SSDs come with a five-year warranty and a 300TBW rating, meaning you can expect to get a lot of use out of the drive without worrying about durability.

TP-Link Deco P9

Broadcasting seamless Wi-Fi to your entire house isn't always easy. Radio signals get lost on their around corners and down hallways, and the farthest corners from your router might not be getting a proper signal. That's an issue for anyone frequenting those corners, say in a bedroom or a basement. A popular solution is mesh Wi-Fi, which generally includes a number of nodes to complement a router, all broadcasting the same signal from different areas.

TP-Link's Deco P9 (AC1200) is a fairly powerful option, offering coverage for up to 6,000 square feet (give or take some feet, as this is a claim made by TP-Link). The system is easy to set up, and it includes two nodes and one main router. It's a dual-band system, but its AV1000 powerline backhaul channel means you don't have to worry about slowdowns when the nodes are talking to each other. Regularly priced at $230, it's now down to just $150 for Amazon's Prime Early Access event.

Amazon's Prime Early Access event is full of high-profile tech items on sale for hundreds of dollars off the regular price, but let's not forget about the small accessories that can make a huge difference. One of our colleagues fried some tech in his office over the weekend, and we don't want you to do the same.

This six-outlet surge protector power bar is the key, at least as long as you don't need more than 1,000 joules of suppression. The power strip has six regular outlets as well as two USB-A ports to charge accessories. It's regularly priced at about $17, but it's currently down to less than $12.

Amazon might have a lot of the focus today, but a bunch of other major retailers are also hosting flash sales. Best Buy in particular has a bunch of great deals on gaming laptops and PCs from major manufacturers. The HP Omen 40L caught our eye in part thanks to the huge discount and in part thanks to the hefty amount of performance hardware inside.

This model, which is regularly priced at $1,450, is down to just $1,050. It has inside a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12400F CPU, 16GB of HyperX DDR4 RAM, a 1TB M.2 PCIe SSD, and a NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card for excellent upper mid-range performance. It's all contained in a sleek 40L tower with RGB lighting and decent airflow. Samsung 980 Pro

Samsung's 980 Pro is one of the best M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSDs you can buy right now in terms of durability and performance, but these drives generally cost more than competing SSDs that come very close to measuring up.

That's all changed thanks to Amazon's Prime Early Access sale, which has the 2TB version of the 980 Pro down to just $190. That's 50% off the regular $380 price tag. The M.2 SSD is capable of hitting read speeds up to 7,000MB/s and write speeds up to 5,000 MB/s, plus its endurance is rated at 1,200 TBW with a five-year warranty. Dell XPS 13 Plus (9320) for 2022

Dell is hosting its own two-day sales event while Amazon has its Prime Early Access sale, and those looking to get their hands on an XPS laptop should definitely check it out. One deal that caught our attention is on the XPS 13 Plus (9320), which is Dell's most premium 13-inch laptop.

What makes it so great? The 13.4-inch FHD+ display has a 60Hz refresh rate and excellent color reproduction and contrast, the keyboard, haptic touchpad, and speakers are all top-tier, and it has one of the best designs currently on the market.

This specific model has a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P CPU, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 512GB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD, and Intel's integrated Iris Xe graphics. Instead of the regular (and fairly steep) $1,699 price, this XPS 13 Plus is down to $1,349. That's a much more reasonable cost that puts it in line with a lot of lesser laptops that Dell has to offer.

Lenovo Yoga 7i 14 and 16 (Gen 7)

Lenovo's Yoga 9i 14 (Gen 7) is our top pick when it comes to the best Windows laptops, but it's extremely expensive and has a lot of features that not everyone needs to pay for. Lenovo also offers a mid-range alternative known as the Yoga 7i 14 (Gen 7), with an excellent build quality and strong performance in its own right.

The Yoga 7i 14 (Gen 7) has rounded edges, huge touchpad, comfy keyboard, quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, high-res touch display with Dolby Vision, and FHD camera with IR for facial recognition. Dell 24.5-inch gaming monitor

There have been some tasty GPU and gaming PC deals already flying by today, and we know that some of you are no doubt looking for a new high-performance gaming monitor to accompany the new performance hardware. If you're looking to focus more on refresh rate than size, Dell's 24.5-inch S2522HG monitor might be the ticket.

This monitor boasts a 240Hz refresh rate for its 1080p panel, as well as a 1ms GtG response time. Those are some great specs to pair up with a new GPU, and the addition of NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium means you don't have to choose a specific card for the extra reduction in screen tearing and stuttering. Regularly priced at $300, this monitor is currently down to $200 at Amazon.

Dell Inspiron lineup 2022

Inspiron is Dell's more affordable alternative to the XPS lineup, and while there are some XPS laptops on sale during Amazon's Prime Early Access event, this might be the best deal I've seen so far.

The Inspiron 14 5420 has a slim build but holds onto plenty of ports, including dual Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, USB-A, and an SD card reader. The keyboard stretches from side to side, and there's a sizable touchpad below. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are on board for wireless connectivity.

Whereas a lot of affordable laptops cheap out on the display, the 5420 has a 14-inch screen with 16:10 aspect ratio, 2240x1400 (2.2K) resolution, about 300 nits brightness, and anti-glare finish. As for performance hardware, it's sporting a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U CPU with 10 cores, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. Regularly priced at $800, you can pick it up right now for $680.

Zotac Gaming GTX 1660 Super

The last couple years have been extremely hard on anyone trying to navigate the GPU market, with prices through the roof and stock anywhere but on the shelves. That's all changed in recent months as the value of cryptocurrency fell drastically, and many PC gamers are now able to get their hands on one of the most important parts of their build.

If you're looking for a GPU that can handle 1080p gaming at or above 60FPS with modern titles, the GTX 1660 Super is likely going to be the best option for the asking price. Zotac's version of the GTX 1660 Super has a dual-fan cooling setup, 1,785MHz clock speed, and takes up two expansion slots. It's ideal for more compact builds that don't have a ton of room.

Regularly priced at $290, it's down to $200 at Amazon during the Prime Early Access sale. That's the lowest price we've ever seen at Amazon.

These big sales events are a great time to look at the stuff you might not normally invest in. Splurge a little bit or buy an item that you think you need but never wanted to spend the money on. I think a robot vacuum like the iRobot Roomba i4+ EVO falls right in line with that. It's an awesome smart home device that can even empty its own trash bin, uses Wi-Fi mapping, and works with Amazon Alexa for easy voice controls. It works on carpets and does well with pet hair.

Synology DiskStation DS220j NAS

We love network-attached storage devices. We talk about them all the time. There's so much you can do with a good NAS, including setting up a Plex server or just consolidating all of your home media into one easily accessible server. The DS220j 2-bay NAS is a fantastic choice, too, if you're thinking about getting a NAS for the first time. It already sells at a reasonably affordable price, and today thanks to Prime Day it's down to an even better low price.

One thing you should know about this NAS is that while it comes with two bays, it is a diskless NAS. So you will have to buy the hard drives separately. Luckily for you, Amazon's Prime Day deals has you covered. You can get several variations of the WD Red Pro on sale today as part of Prime Early Access, including the 6TB version for just $139.99 from a street price of $190.

ASUS Vivobook Go 12 L210

ASUS is a top manufacturer to check out if you want a budget laptop, but this Vivobook Go 12 L210 is beyond anything else I've seen today. This is a low-end laptop, but at just $130 it might be the perfect device to have around the house for homework or general productivity like email and word processing.

It has an 11.6-inch display with 1366x768 resolution, keyboard with respectable 1.4mm travel, and varied port selection including USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI. Performance hardware includes an Intel Celeron N4020 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage. Again, this is a low-end laptop that won't fare well with multitasking or gaming, but at $120 off the regular price it's hard to beat.

Logitech G920

We all know how much fun racing games are, even when manning a vehicle with a keyboard or a controller. Simulation enthusiasts who want to take it to the next level, whether on Xbox or PC, should check out Logitech's G920 wheel and accompanying pedals. It's not the newest set of racing gear out there, but it's still a quality product with years of solid ratings and reviews.

The G920 makes you feel every corner and bump with force feedback from dual motors. The wheel clamps easily but securely onto your desk, and it can rotate 900 degrees. Xbox controls are built into the wheel for navigating menus without switching inputs. There are also three pedals that go beneath the desk for full acceleration, braking, and transmission control over your car. This package usually costs about $300, but it's down to $200 for Amazon's Prime Early Access event.

Netgear Nighthawk RAX120

Wi-Fi 6 is the next-gen standard that's taking over for Wi-Fi 5, delivering faster and more reliable connections for your net-heavy life. While most new devices are equipped with a modem that can pick up a Wi-Fi 6 signal, you do need to add a router capable of delivering Wi-Fi 6 to those devices. The Netgear Nighthawk RAX120 is one of those routers, and a fairly high-end one at that.

It offers theoretical AX6000 speeds across radios, with coverage that Netgear claims can hit 3,500 square feet. A 2.2GHz processor handles streams and prioritizing traffic, plus there are plenty of ports for connecting your wired and USB devices. Regularly priced at $450, this router is down to just $225 for the rest of the day.
