Far Cry 3 is regarded by many gamers and critics as the best title in the staple franchise. The villain was devious and the plot was equally insane. Beforehand, Xbox One players could only play the backward compatible version, but Far Cry 3: Classic Edition runs at 1440p 30 FPS on Xbox One X and is the best console version around. Even Digital Foundry praised its stability on Microsoft's new console.
Far Cry 3: Classic Edition is now available for $29.99 as a standalone purchase. If you don't want to buy the Far Cry 5: Season Pass, then this is the only way to get it. Far Cry 5: Season Pass holders were able to play the game a month before everyone else.
Far Cry 3 originally landed in 2012 for the last generation of consoles and PC. The game is an open-world shooter that throws you into a fight for your life on a large, dangerous island in the middle of nowhere.
While traveling with friends, you are taken captive. Your only hope of survival lies in unraveling the dark secrets of the island and its deranged inhabitants. Alone at the edge of the world, where nothing is what it seems, you must find a way to fight back and escape the island of insanity.
