Amazon has the Samsung HMD Odyssey Windows Mixed Reality headset for just $299.99 right now. That's the best price we've ever seen. The mixed reality headset normally sells for around $500, and even when it does go on sale just drops to around $400. This price even beats out Prime Day's sale last summer.
There is a newer model of this item, the Odyssey+, but that upgraded version sells for around $550. And because it just came out in late October it is not, and probably won't be, on sale.
Windows Central's hands-on review of the HMD Odyssey said it was a headset for "people who want a great display and built-in headphones above all else." And it is a "quality experience" if that's what matters to you.
The Odyssey has built-in premium AKG headphones that offer 360-degree spatial sound and a comfortable fit during gameplay. The integrated microphone array allows you to interact with Cortana, and it comes with two wireless controllers. The display uses dual 3.5-inch AMOLED panels with 1440x1600 resolution and a 110-degree field of view. Users give it 4 stars based on 145 reviews.
