Black Friday is finally here, meaning significant savings are live on top video games. This year has seen retailers putting out some serious deals on new releases, with discounts on the best Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch games — and even some on the next-generation Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, if you're lucky to own one.

And with dozens of deals to consider this Black Friday, we've rounded up the best worth your time across the top consoles.

Best Deals on Video Games: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch

We've already been seeing worthwhile savings on various titles this week, including deals at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. The best savings are found on physical, disc-based versions, often significantly undercutting their digital counterparts. That sees third parties increasingly aggressive with their pricing.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War (Digital) | $10 at Newegg (opens in new tab)

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War usually charges $10 extra for its next-gen version, packaged in a two-party "Cross-Gen Bundle" for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. But in a rare launch month discount, Newegg has cut $10 off its digital download over Black Friday when using code EMCGGFN37. It's an incredible deal to see, so don't miss this opportunity.

Minecraft Dungeons Hero Edition | $10 off at Amazon (opens in new tab)

Mojang explored a new dungeon-crawling spin on its blockbuster series earlier this year, with a shift away from its roots as a creative sandbox, embarking on a loot-driven action RPG. Minecraft Dungeons Hero Edition provides the ideal opportunity to get started, discounted on Xbox One this Black Friday, with access to all paid DLC packs to date.

Persona 5 Royal | $40 off at Best Buy (opens in new tab)

Atlus launched its new-and-improved Persona 5 Royal earlier in 2020, bolstering an already beloved Japanese role-playing game (RPG) with an expanded world brimming with more content. It features the same gripping narrative, mixing ordinary high schoolers with special powers, all intertwined with visuals and a soundtrack to remember.

DIRT 5 | $10 off at Walmart (opens in new tab)

DIRT 5 was among the few Xbox Series X and PS5 launch titles that showcased what the console could do capped out at 4K resolution at 120 frames-per-second (FPS) on the system. It's also a fun arcade racer for off-road action around all terrains. The game has a free next-generation upgrade from PS4 to PS5, making this a future-proofed pickup.

Final Fantasy VII: Remake | $25 off at Amazon (opens in new tab)

Return to Midgar with a fully reimagined return to the 1997 classic in Japanese role-playing games. The beloved title has been rebuilt from the ground up, with vastly improved visuals, changes to combat, and even tweaks to the underlying narrative. It's an ideal nostalgia trip for returning fans or an excellent opportunity to jump into a fan favorite in the series.

Gears 5 | $35 off at Best Buy (opens in new tab)

Gears 5 is one of Microsoft's latest blockbuster shooters, featuring a single-player campaign packed with brutal action, with accompanying competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes. It even has a free Xbox Series X upgrade up to 120 FPS with ray tracing, now discounted to its lowest yet.

Luigi's Mansion 3 | $20 off at Best Buy (opens in new tab)

Explore a haunted hotel and round up ghosts in this latest series entry for Luigi's Mansion. The newest adventure sees our hero working through puzzles and challenges, rescuing his friends throughout this towering resort.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps Collector's Edition | $20 off at Best Buy (opens in new tab)

With its hand-drawn beauty and gripping platforming, Ori and the Will of the Wisps found itself one of the best Xbox One games in 2020, now with free Xbox Series X|S upgrades also available. The heartfelt journey also comes in a physical Collector's Edition, including a steel book, art book, and soundtrack — the ultimate way to experience one of Xbox's best.

Metro Redux | $17 off at Best Buy (opens in new tab)

Experience the two Metro titles that started it all, with two full-length single-player campaigns condensed into the portability of Nintendo Switch. In a post-nuclear Russia, where man headed underground for survival, threats lay around every corner.

  • These are some awesome title deals. Looking to find a deal for couple of titles which will set me good for the Holiday season. Recently, I have spent on a 5-year plan for Gaming VPN from PureVPN which I got for $89 (a good buy I must add for port forwarding).
