Windows Phone Games

Ion Galactic: The Conflict is a Windows Phone game where you are tasked with conquering the galaxy. The game is presented in board game fashion where you manage and build a collection of ships along with plenty of enemy bases to capture and hostile ships to destroy in two gaming modes.

You will need to build up a large armada of ships, along with several strategically placed defensive units, to have any hopes of success. Available for low-memory Windows Phones and Windows 8 devices, Ion Galactic is an appealing, casually paced game to pass the time with. The game lacks a lot of action packed sequences but if you are a fan of board games like RISK and Axis and Allies or just looking for strategy game for your Windows Phone/Windows 8 device, Ion Galactic is worth a try.

Ninja Shurican is a relatively new Windows Phone game that has you playing the role of a ninja warrior who is traveling the underworld to battle demons and avoid countless dangers.

We were tipped on this endless runner game and decided to take it for a spin. Ninja Shurican is available for low memory Windows Phones, has three gaming modes and customizable weapons and ninja suits. The controls take a little time to get used to but nothing to cause you to run screaming from the room.

Rebels is a new Windows Phone game from Disney that is based on the Star Wars Rebels television series. As one might guess, you are tasked with several missions that pits you against the evil Empire.

The game, also known as Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions, is full of Stormtroopers, droids, blasters and light sabers. The game is not available for low-memory Windows Phones but is available for Windows 8 devices. While it is disappointing that Rebels lacks support for 512MB devices, in playing Rebels over the past few days, the game comes across as an appealing adventure game but a few stability issues and slow load times seems to hold this gaming title back a bit.

The sports game includes over 150 holes of carpet golf that are spread across nineteen courses. Mechanics are simple and you have two bonuses to help salvage a low score. Graphics are well drawn up and while it's not a round at The Masters, Mini Golf Stars comes across as a fun way to pass the time.

Future Factory is a new Windows Phone game that hit Store shelves last week. This arcade styled shooter provides you with plenty of robot targets to blow up and shoot up.

The story line has you battling your way out of a secret factory where robots rule and humans are not allowed. The game has appealing graphics, challenging game play and plenty of weapons to buy and upgrade.

While the game is not available for low-memory devices (the developers are working on it though), it is another quality product from the AppCampus project and well worth a try.

Inchy is a very simple Windows Phone game where you help guide a little iguana up the screen. You do so by stretchy Inchy's tongue out to latch on and travel from platform to platform. The design is simple and while Inchy could be described as an endless tongue Windows Phone game, it may be better to just call it an endless jumper.

The game is available for low-memory Windows Phones and while there is a certain amount of appeal to Inchy, the game is likely better suited for shorter gaming periods. The game is challenging and the graphics are nicely drawn up, but Inchy is a little too one dimensional for marathon gaming sessions.

Epic Wars is a Windows Phone game that has you seeking planetary domination one gaming level at a time. The game will test your skills at strategy and reaction as you send your troops to invade and occupy neighboring planets.

Graphics are very minimal, game play has a bit of a zippy pace and Epic Wars comes across as an entertaining Windows Phone gaming title. Epic Wars is available for low-memory Windows Phones and may only be held back by the number of levels the current version holds.

Sports Jeopardy is a relatively new Windows Phone game that takes you on the set of the popular television game show Jeopardy to test your knowledge of the sports world.

The game follows the same format as the TV game show, has customizable characters, online gaming modes and some rather challenging trivia questions. While Sports Jeopardy is available for low-memory devices, the game has the potential of being a fantastic Windows Phone trivia game to test your sports knowledge. Unfortunately several performance issues are present that holds this game back considerably. At least on the Windows Phone side of the aisle.
