Every weekend, Windows Central streams an Xbox One or Steam game on Twitch for 1-2 hours and gives out free games to the cool people who join us during the stream. It's like a live podcast, only you also get to watch a game while chatting with our awesome readers and viewers!
Tonight we played Gears of War 4, the long-awaited return of the Gears of War series for Xbox One and Windows 10. Gears 4 features some great multiplayer modes, including the return of 5-player co-op Horde Mode. Read on for quick impressions, contest winners, and the full video replay.
Gears of War 4
Gears of War 4 is the latest in Microsoft's Xbox and Windows-exclusive third-person shooter series. This installment sees J.D. Fenix, son of original series protagonist Marcus Fenix, joining other humans in the battle against a deadly new foe: the Swarm. These baddies include both monstrous creatures and military robots that will require all-new strategies to defeat.
On top of a thrilling campaign that supports 2-player split-screen and online co-op, Gears of War 4 features competitive multiplayer and the return of the series' beloved Horde mode. The new Horde mode (which I hear Jez, Zac, and Daniel all enjoy) allows a group of players to defend a base against 50 waves of oncoming enemies. This time, each player is assigned a specific class to aid in the fight. You won't find many more compelling co-op experiences this year.
Players who purchased Gears of War 4 already have early access to the game right now, a few days ahead of the October 11 launch of the standard edition. Thus, we invited select viewers to join us for online multiplayer during our special preview stream.
We started out with Horde Mode before switching to Co-Op Versus, a new mode in which players team up against bots in standard Versus games. Did Paul carry his weight? There's only one way to find out - watch the replay video above!
You poor lads and lasses who don't have Gears of War 4 yet, it's not too late to preorder. Buy the digital version to get the game on both Xbox One and Windows 10. ]

How to watch Twitch livestreams
What's the best way to experience Twitch? The Twitch website on your PC or Mac web browser. If you don't have or prefer not to use a computer, you can get the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Xbox 360 Twitch apps and watch from the comfort of your couch. Android and iOS both have official and unofficial Twitch apps to choose from as well.
On Windows Phone, you'll have to grab an unofficial app. There are several to choose from, each with different strengths and weaknesses. Only one app lets you search directly for our channel, though. If you use the others, you'll have to find and follow us from a web browser first. Read the roundup to learn more!
Want to know what's next for Windows Central's Twitch programming? We stream a different game every Saturday (and sometimes Sunday). The stream always starts at the same time: 9pm Eastern (8pm Central, 6pm Pacific, 1am GMT). Over the next few weeks, we'll be streaming the following (schedule not finalized):
